We needed more dragons for our dnd campaign, so we painted some cheap dragon toys from the dollar store! 😄 I painted the red and the green one and my sister painted the blue one. Which one do you like best? Thanks for looking!

I may end up doing a bunch of image dumps - I've painted a lot this year and maybe I should just post them in sets. This one, though, deserves its own post, I think. I painted up the Green Dragon Hatchling from waaaay back in Bones 2, showed it to my wife, and she made some suggestions - so here you have it painted up as a Swamp Dragon from the Discworld, as kept by Lady Sybil of Ankh-Morpork. I gave them a collar and name plate, and since they're a tame dragon, I gave them a few chew toys, including a Rolly Ball just like Rex of "Snake Discovery," as can be seen here: https://www.twitch.tv/snakediscovery Comments, criticisms, and suggestions welcome!

I actually painted this shortly before the lockdowns started when the store had it and the D&D campaign I was in was running Lost Mines and we'd gotten to the beginning of the dragon encounter. So I'd painted it up and brought it in since the DM didn't have a green dragon of the right size and the sculpt actually looks a lot like the D&D Green Dragon if you remove the tail blades. After running it, another friend wanted to borrow the mini for an adventure he was running right as lockdown started and I just got it back. The big thing with it was the expirament with various stick on plastic jewels and if I could use gold and silver glitter with a large enough size to work for coins as a a workable basing material with some added wash ontop. I like the result there and it gives the feel of the dragons hoard that it might have been napping on when someone woke it up.

Still not tired of re-skinning this thing. This is my third: the Pathfinder Red dragon painted up as a Green dragon. I did one in typical / classic red a long time ago, I just did one in white last month, and now I present...green! This cast was a little wobbly / uneven. Pronounced mold line down the middle and the eyes were pretty lumpy. No biggie - for the price it is an amazing mini, and it is easily one of my favorite Reaper Bones productions. Dominant color is green, obviously, and more specifically it's the "Warm Green" triad. It's otherwise all reaper paints except for the drudgework on the base, which is craft paint and reaper washes (black and brown). Still hoping to do a blue and a black at some point in the relatively near future!.

Started painted minis over the course of the last year for DnD Rise of Tiamat. Not an artist but I’ve enjoyed it.... Blightfang (green) was first, then Cinder (red), and last was Narthrax (blue).

With my bride away on a work trip this week, I decided to try to squeeze in a kinda big project... and after dithering about what it should be, I settled on painting one of my many Bones dragons. Blightfang was actually a main antagonist in a D&D campaign I ran a while back... so that's the one I decided to paint! Tonight was spent scrubbing him down, after he'd spent the day soaking in soapy water. I partly glued him together, and then got painting with Green Liner. I'm only partly assembling him, so that I can more easily access the harder to reach spots. Also the back legs don't fit well into the base he came with, so I'm thinking that I might need to make my own out of cork... And this was supposed to be a quick project... we'll see how I do.

Sorry for the 'batch' aspect, but... it is indeed a batch submission of some of the last pieces coming out of the production line for Septembre and October. I couldn't really decide which one to post so here you go :)

a couple of table top dragons, nothing fancy just trying to clear my big box of minis, so I can buy more. I am hoping to put Ebonwrath on stone pillars in the middle of a swamp setting. like he/she? is standing on a collapsed bridge drooling acid into the water. c&c welcomed

Hey guys, I have another mini to show off! This time, I used the Pathfinder Red Dragon (89001), but painted it up as a green! C&C's always appreciated! Hope you like it!

I do not know if Narthrax is male or female but as I worked on it, I began to refer to it as she and named her Beastie. She is a great dragon with fantastic scale detail and I had a blast painting her and doing her base. The base is a block of wood that I carved the pond area into. I attached the integral base and built up the cork around it and the resin columns and faces (which you can barely see in the photos. The picture I had of my mind was ancient ruins near a jungle pond. The columns are from Screct Weapon, the faces from Scibor, and the plants are from Kamizukuri that I got from Hangar 18 Miniatures. I apoligize for the pictures, she was a beast to take pictures of. Beastie was my entry in the Fantasy Large catagory at Gateway this past weekend where she took first place. Any input would be appreciated.

This is my first really big dragon from the Bones II kickstarter. He is the dragon from Dragons Don't Share.... Nathavarr. I painted him as a green dragon defending his treasure hoard. I hope you like! Mu apologies for the pictures as I do not have a good backdrop to take them against so they tended to be a little washed out. Once I get a good non-reflective backdrop large enougfh I will take more pictures. This young fire dragon ended up being my first dragon ever painted. Though he's called a 'young fire' I thought it was pretty open to interpretation what type of dragon he was and decided to paint him as a young green dragon. The mister suggested parchment wings to give him some contrast. I think maybe he thought I'd go lighter on the webbing in its wings, but I'm okay with it since I think it's a nice complimentary color to the green. This one really tested my skill. His scales were too small and too close together to just use layers like I usually do everywhere. I was forced to drybrush, which isn't one of my strong suits, but with a little bit of cleanup after I think it came out okay. Anyways, comments and criticism welcome as always, thanks!

I decided to paint the Fire Dragon as a green dragon for a friend for a birthday present. I wanted to prove I could use red and green brightly and not make it look too much like christmas! Hah! Take that, color theory! I had some extra putty left over from the basing so I used it to make the little snake in the last pic. The base is mostly cork sheets courtesy of Talespinner with some gravel and rocks. The tree is a twig with birch seed leaves. The fern in the front is etched brass from Hasselfree- that stuff is fantastic and so realistic! Highly recommended! The other plants are real moss and reindeer moss from a decorative mix I picked up from Home Goods, I think- something like that. The colors are forest green, viper green, sun yellow for the green elements. The base I primed in black craft paint and then used spattered crimson, saffron sunset and sun yellow, mixing while wet, giving it more of a brown look. For the crest and belly I used spattered crimson, saffron sunset, sun yellow, leather white and blood red (just on the crest and claws.) I'd played with shading with the red on the green and some walnut brown in the deepest shadows, but I found I got the best result just using the forest green. C&C always welcome! Happy New Year!

I've seen it done in orange, red, and blue. I decided to try it in green. I'm fairly pleased with him. :-) I would have done pictures in a light box, but it was late and he's going to work tomorrow to sit on my desk. :-) He's a bones mini. I tried priming it with krylon dual, bug it was a bit tacky. I dusted it with Armory primer and it was fine. Working with something so light made manipulating it for painting angles easy, but it was a bit too easy to accidentally flex the wings when I bumped it.

Hi all! this is my end of the year "here be dragons" diorama contest entry, fresh off the paint table this morning. this mini was salvaged from a three year stay at the shelf of shame and was begging to be worked on. the contest was a perfect excuse to do just that. originally i had been over ambitious with the level of detail work i wanted to do, and a thousand scales later and it hit the shelf. to get it how i had envisioned it (each scale as a gem) was just too much work and at the time my skill with that technique was much worse. over time the age of the PJ showed. i briefly considered stripping it and starting over but couln't get over the mental hurdle. the contest was an ideal excuse to finish it fast and call it "done" in whatever state it was in when time was up. better to have another completed than back in the box. the story: only her appointed elderly handmaiden had offered her council as she prepared for the dragon tithe. As the old woman hemmed her fine silken dress she whispered, "wear no perfume today my lady, and stretch in the cart. the beast will toy with you, princess, as a cat plays with a mouse. when you run, do not run home, for even if you did traverse the plain none here would dare aide you or offer you sanctuary. no, child, you must run to the ruins of the old city. there the stench of our ancestors will cover your scent. only then will you have a chance. even so, the dragon is crafty and......." the old woman cleared her throat and wiped an eye. how many times had she hemmed this dress, the girl wondered. how many seasons, how many "princesses?" the old woman continued," remember your childhood games, dear. hide and seek in the woods. if you should escape, do not return here, for the dragon will surely have his flesh. now go, sweet child, the magistrate is waiting." and an extra pic of the "princess" not included in the contest posting. she is removable and has her own matching base. this was done so that the models are useable as gaming miniatures as well as for a diorama. she makes for a total of 60 minis completed in 2013. comments/questions always appreciated!
