Here's a WizKids translucent Hell Hound: Primed with gloss acrylic medium. Base colors with Badger Ghost Tints. Spine, claws, teeth, metallics, and eyes done with various opaques. Some black used to pick out details in the flames.

I went back and touched up some of my very early paint jobs from a couple of years or so back. I thought it would be fun to post some before and after pics. Photo quality is getting a little better, unfortunately most of these models are no longer in my possession and I have no way of taking better pics for when I finally get a decent camera. I know some people like to look at how they progressed over time and keep their 1st minis untouched, but I really like these models so much, that I wanted to bring them up to how I had hoped they would look when I first painted them. Hope you enjoy my extra bit of effort and their final time in the spotlight. BEFORE AFTER BEFORE AFTER BEFORE AFTER BEFORE AFTER

EDIT: I APOLOGIZE FOR NOT PUTTING THE PIX IN SPOILER TAGS...NOT SURE HOW TO. Good evening everyone! These are the first miniatures I have ever painted. I picked up the Bones Learn to Paint Kit a month ago or so and painted two of the 3 minis that came with it (the skeleton came broken) and then decided to pick up 3 more off of ebay and have painted 5 total to date. I was looking for a hobby and I stumbled across this site and read everything about minis and what not and decided to give it a try. I added the model #'s in the topic for the ones I remembered. The first mini I started with was the Armored Knight, followed by the Orc, then the Large Earth Elemental, Hell Hound and then finally the Pathfinder Dragon. Hoping to get some feedback on any/all of them as it would be much appreciated. Below are some pics, both with flash off and flash on for comparison. The only paints I used where the ones that came with the painting kit...some I mixed together or thinned out etc... I don't have a table to paint on (I'm not painting on my polished coffee table! nor do I have a fancy white background (or rather just some white paper =P) so I used a white shirt for the backdrop. Some things I noticed after I took the pics and along the way, these of which I still need to do, are: Paint the teeth on the Orc, paint the claws and wing bones of the dragon, fix the bone colored mark on the Hell Hound's left rear leg, eyes on the armored knight. Anyways, hope their good!

Hello friends, here are a plethora of different figures I've finished in the past couple months. The Wargs each got about an hour of work and the Hell Hound about 2 hours. As you can see, I didn't slave away trying to remove the mould line on the Hell Hound and wasn't too careful about the Wargs either; just going for some high table top goodness. The Howling Ghoul from Imbrian Arts was a fun and easy figure to paint. Mostly just using pale skin tones and glazes of Gory Red to blend it all in. Lastly the Ogre from Bobby Jackson's latest releases. He was fun an will make a nice mini-boss type ogre for gaming; he was also at ReaperCon.

I got a new vampire box of bones, from the friend who talked me into buying one in the first place. So now I get to repaint all the minis I painted when I was just starting. is now This guy is a repost, now with gold bracers. He is from mice and mystics board game (I only bought the figures) and has gone from hero to villain In my campaign he is known as "The Lord of Cats" This figure will shortly serve as a Dire Lion, so I wanted to paint him as cat like as possible. Ill post the earlier (hellhound version) after I get a new picture of him. I think I completed hound in late 2013, shown is a second attempt at the him, the first was terrible. and thankfully has no photos.

Hey all! It's been a while - I haven't been completely slacking off with the painting but I took a few months off. I started up again a few months ago, but haven't really been posting - sorry about that. I figured I'd start up again, this is my most recent paint job - the Bones Hell Hound. I did some scuplting on the base to give him flames there too - I was thinking about adding more flames to the figure but decided against it. Credit where credit is due - I definitely started with Nameless' paint scheme, but I think I took it in my own direction. I did want to play with painting black, and using his mini's as a guideline, I think I succeeded pretty well. Feedback is always welcome:

Not sure this is the most logical grouping of photos, but I'm trying to not flood the board with a topic for each mini since I take pics in big batches. Oxidation Beast Stone Golem Clay Golem Hell Hound
