  1. Please see the main post here for rules, questions and general chatter, while using this thread to keep a list of links to your show-offs or show-off related comments in a single post: A reminder to please adhere to miniatures posting guidelines as usual. http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/84371-2019-rpchallenge-questionsannouncements/ All the information you need should be here. As usual, the new format holds a "hard mode" challenge! January and February 2019 Your challenge is: 8! Bonus Challenge: The First! Finished - not perfect! Paint 4 minis from your 'shelf of shame." A lot of our minis tend to end up there for a myraid of reasons - but a common one is 'can't get it to look just right" Don't get hung up on perfection - most models can be re-purchased again later Bonus Challenge: The Second! Bringing back a favorite for whatever absurd reason - Fingerpaint February! Paint a non-object/non-terrain miniature using only your own fingers. The exception is that priming and sealing may be done with a brush/airbrush/can/etc Hard Mode Challenge! Since most of us are in the winter season, and appropriately chilly, take a nod to the Greyhawk setting and the Land of Black Ice. A region of the world covered in black-blue ice. This inhospitable land is often haunted by arctic terrors, black-skinned trolls, and blue-furred bugbears among others. Your challenge is to paint an arctic terror (bonus points if it's a black-skinned troll or blue-furred bugbear) based on this 'sheet of black-blue ice.' Crackle medium may be very helpful for this. The more inhospitable, dark and dreary, the better! As always, the game is made up and the points don't matter!
  2. Hey there! I decided to hop back on the RPChallenge wagon! These guys have been languishing on my desk, just in need of some touch-ups and basing. So I knocked those out, and I'm calling them done. They'll be fun to use as a marker or something. I did a WIP on my blog, feel free to go check it out! I update there much more frequently than I post here. Hope y'all enjoy them! C&c is always welcome!
  3. I'm kinda on time! Please see the main post here for rules, questions and general chatter, while using this thread to keep a list of links to your show-offs or show-off related comments in a single post: A reminder to please adhere to miniatures posting guidelines as usual. http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/78657-resolutionary-painting-challenge-2018-chatterquestions/ All the information you need should be here. Due to the revised format, there will be more than one bonus challenge available for this month. Including a "Hard mode" which Is some combination that may or may not have a source behind it. Your challenge is: 8! Bonus Challenge: The First! Frostbite: Considering the sheer cold that's gripping most of us as of this posting: Paint a mini that looks like they've been outside in the winter a little too long - snow in the hair, icicles on shields, etc. Have fun with it Bonus Challenge: The Second! Our annual challenge returns. February Fingerpaint! This is pretty self explanatory. Hard Mode Challenge! Pending... Good luck The game is made up and the points don't matter

Please see the main post here for rules, questions and general chatter, while using this thread to keep a list of links to your show-offs or show-off related comments in a single post: A reminder to please adhere to miniatures posting guidelines as usual. http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/72577-resolutionary-painting-challenge-2017-chatterquestions/ All the information you need should be here. Due to the revised format, there will be more than one bonus challenge available for this month. Including a “Hard mode†which Is some combination that may or may not have a source behind it. January and February 2017 Your challenge is: 8! Bonus Challenge – The First! In honor of having a Friday the 13th, Paint a mini up in your best rendition of a classic horror creature. It does not have to resemble the actual creature/character in physique, just paint job. Bonus Challenge – The Second! A return of our challenge from last year: Fingerpainting! That is, except for priming and sealing, using no other paint applicator besides fingers. And no – enlisting the help of a smaller friend/family member/minion does not qualify. WITH an adjustment this time: It must be a creature of some form or another – no easy ways out with chests/crates/etc. Hard Mode Challenge! Monochrome Microbust: This is easiest with a bones figure for obvious reasons. Take a mini and cut off part of the body so that it resembles an otherwise normal miniatures bust. For purposes of this challenge, the figure must be no larger than a ‘medium’ creature (but should be at least vaguely humanoid) and “Bust†will be defined as – arms no longer than just above the elbow, and chest no further down than the navel. The exception is if the hair goes further down, you may preserve the hair but the rest of the body must still be gone. Monochrome may denote any singular color you want (even grayscale) but you may only use black and white to change the color of the base one chosen. – Please reserve any questions on this challenge for the chatter thread. PLOT TWIST! Hidden challenge: Fancy Date Night Makeover: Paint up a miniature that's wearing normal medieval or sci-fi armor/clothing into a fancy tux/suit/dress appropriate for date night. Minis that are already wearing appropriate date night attire don't count. (Think kind of like those tuxedo tshirts or similar - full plate armor with a suit and tie painted on it or so.)
  5. To finish off my resolutionary painting challenge for January, here are some Khornate ( chaos god of war/blood/death/skulls ) knights that I've done up for my very large chaos horde that may one day see action in Kings of War. If you're at all familiar with GW products, you'll see that there at least 3 different generations of figures in this unit. Additionally, I've done a lot of conversions to make the unit more interesting (I also didn't have enough bits to complete it otherwise). Hopefully, it worked. The whole unit ranked up: Champion (on the right) and 2 other knights; left side and the right side: Musician and standard bearer left side: And the right side: Looking at the pictures, I'm going to have to go back and put another layer of gloss coat over that banner, and then some dull coat to try and kill the shine on that decal. I apologize for the lousy pictures, photobucket and/or my camera is being stupid.... Questions, C&C are all welcome.

Your challenge is: 4 Bonus Challenge: Wizards of Winter - Paint a spellcaster to have a cloak/robes that resemble winter, whether the aurora borealis, a gentle flurry, a raging blizzard, or ice. Consider it an exercise in freehand A friendly reminder again to use "RPChallenge" in the tags for show-off to help them be found easier.
  7. Finished this guy just a few minutes ago. Hope Y'all like him! We realized after I was about halfway done that he's a "not-vecna". He's missing his left hand and eye. I was going for a bit of a ring wraith feel with the hair. I wanted it to look dead and gross. Did I get it? Also, I hate orbs. I tried to do lightning to cheat the fact that I'm awful at orbs. If you are good at orbs, I kind of hate you. You know who you are. C&c always welcome and appreciated!
  8. I finished this guy up the other day, but I hadn't based it. I decided to do a little basic base to get him done and off the desk. I love these guys. Seriously. ☺ C&c is always welcome.
  9. So, I made another one! I love these little guys so much! And I got to paint a bunch of little eyes. What do y'all think?
  10. I got them in!!! I am so excited!! I decided to start with something easy in the gargoyle. He is adorable, just look at his little butt! Lol. I don't notice it until I took pictures. He had a little weird transiting area around the head I didn't do a great job of painting, but I'm happy with him. He took me about 2 hours after prep and prime. Let me know what y'all think! C&c is always welcome and appreciated!
  11. Here he is number 4 for the month. It took a while to figure out how to re-work the staff, but I like the result.
  12. This one was done for an exchange. Hope he likes it! She was an ambitious project that challenged me in several ways. I am very happy with how she came out, but she was deffinately a learning experience. Comments and critiques very appreciated.
  13. This guy was a lot of fun! His beard was too epic for me to pass up. I was trying a new color scheme, but purple is harder than I thought. C&c always welcome!
  14. I painted this guy for a friend of mine in a d&d game. I wish I was a little better at filing/green stuffing, then I could have evened up his face a little. My copy may have had a stroke on that left side. :) He's not the best job I've ever done, but it's tabletop quality at least. C&C welcome! Enjoy!
  15. So, life is crazy right now, but I painted this guy. I haven't had a chance to get good pictures yet. So, these are what we have to deal with. ;-) I was practicing ageing, I wanted him to look like he had been there for a while. Let me know what you think! Updated photos... in hindsight, I think the fletchings should have probably been done a different color than green...
  16. I finally caught up on some miniatures that needed to be finished. Critiques and advice, as always, are welcome. I'm rather proud of his eyes.
  17. Here is the first model done for the year. I hope it looks alright. I was having a hard time trying to adjust the base and the colors for the belt, but I think it turned out okay for the most part. I do need to get a dedicated area for taking photos though. might work on that a bit this upcoming weekend if i can.
  18. Note: This thread is scheduled for heavy restructure in the next 24-hours to stop causing so many headaches for the mods. Sorry 'bout that. For those who haven't heard, the Resolutionary Painting Challenge is to paint a certain number of minis a month (4 for January). These are the two CAVs of the Templar 99th Auxiliary Regiment I painted as part of that. My first is actually the painting of Ingrid, Female Gnome I submitted for the Little People Beauty Pageant. I've got my first two additions to the Templar 99th Auxiliary Regiment as number 2 and 3. First up, D for Dentist, first of my Specters: Secondly, L for Luga, my first Razor*: They join the Halberd I finished in the closing days of 2014, G for Galant (which can be found here), who doesn't count for the challenge since, well, it was painted last year. But they look nice together, so I figured a group shot couldn't hurt. Edit: Removed Ingrid to her own thread as per forum guidelines *Note to parents: "My First Razor" is probably a terrible idea for your toddler.
  19. Here is the second one for the month. I created her to work well with Damien. Hope it looks decent enough. Those metal bits on her were a bit tricky to get to work right and the belt kept giving me fits. such a tiny brush was needed that my eyes were starting to ache, but it is done and I am happy with the way it turned out.
  20. So, I started the resolutionary paint challenge.. I've already painted over 3 for the month... Here's some of them. I really had a great time painting these guys, it makes staying up all night much easier!!!
  21. First up, a little lady from my shelf o shame. Shes been sitting there mostly finished since last year. I reworked her skin, skirt, and bodice. I'm calling her done, despite that she could use some better highlighting. I plan on picking up another sometime so I can give her another try. Next up, some magical dungeon treasures. These were a ton of fun. Especially the yittle rattie on his scrolls. So cute. A group shot. And a close up of my favorite Thanks for looking and as always C&C welcome
