  1. Be fooling around with this guy a bit too.... Plate Armor is SC 75 Black Metal Chain VMC Bronze Tabard is WC Blue Grey 1-5 Tabard edging SC WF Field grey with shadow and highlight... Thanks for looking!
  2. Glitterwolf

    Happy Birthday Knarthex !!!!

Happy Birthday @knarthex Have a great day!!!
  3. So, the Czaristikallian is done, unless someone sees something I should fix.... so what do you all think! If anyone is curious about stats for a purple dragon, pm me... (It is first ed AD@D... but....) (thanks for the eye tutorials, @Guindyloo) anyone care to guess what the backdrop is?
  4. So I got the box in August of 2015, and proceeded to paint the terrain portions of the box... (WiP here) Now it is finally time to start on the main piece of the box! Nathavarr the Dragon! I spent much time last night removing mold lines.... Then scrubbing all the parts.... Hey! I am using Bones Superglue on Bones! I glued his hind right leg, and tail to the body, and will be doing some putty work after my postings tonight... As a side note, the blocks of wood with the single nails are the ones I used when I was painting Takhisis, over a year ago now.... I plan on using Blue Liner as my primer, and will be air brushing it on.... So I hope you all will follow along, because most of the initial work will be done with my air brushes.... PS I was talking with our Haminister of Trooth whilst taking pics, and we agree that if you could get 2 (or more!) of the same wings from this guy, they would likely make cool looking sails / masts for a fantasy ship!
  5. So I decided that I needed to get off of my deceased donkey and paint something for Reapercon, and decided to paint myself! I say this because the miniature looks like me in one of my Ren Faire outfits.... Started with the eyes, GW Scorched brown, WC One Coat Beige, GW Snot Green, then began the ski with SC 75 Arabic Shadow... Hopefully, I will be able to get this done by con.... (This is a cropped pic from GenCon 09 so you can see what I mean....) yes it isn't exact, but....
  6. I'm 3 hours early, but.... Happy Burst Day! @Guindyloo
  7. Hello to those teaching airbrushing classes! I am wondering what type of (brand) of airbrushes will be using? and can we bring our own? I am wondering specifically if Badger is sponsoring these events, as they use a slightly different connection for attaching the airbrush to the hose, and if that is so, and the hoses do NOT have quick disconnects, (All quick disconnects are compatible to my understanding, no matter the maker) if I did bring my own, I would need to get adapters prior.... I have an Iwata .2mm and a Grex .3mm brushes.... And would likely be more comfortable using them than an unfamiliar brush.... Thanks! George @Reaperbryan
  8. So even though I haven't been W.I.P.ping, I have been painting here and there.... This is the WizKids Dreadlock Troll, that I decided to paint as an Ice Troll for our current Frostgrave Campaign.... He has various pale greys and off whites, then very dilute GW Blue ink Glazed on the skin, GW Snakebite Leather on his loin cloth, and SC75 SS Camo Shadow and SC75 Field Grey 50% on his hair.... Thanks for looking! The Mojo May Return....

    Forumite Pictures @ Reapercon

So we have discussed different times and days as to what is the best one to take the "Forumite" group pictures, and there has been no real consensus as to when / where/ how.... Thought- Take one EACH DAY after the dinner meal before everyone retreats into the Kraken bottles at the firepit? what does everyone think?
  10. So I finished up Bonehenge.... Thanks for looking!
  11. Not been much posting in these here parts recently, but I have been working on some stuff... in this case 3 pieces for Frostgrave treasure tokens.... Thanks for taking a look!
  12. So I got my cut of Bones 3 from the person I went in with, and decided that the first thing to get done would be Bonehenge.... Started by airbrushing with Grey Liner cut 50%, Then Stynylrex Black, then Stynylrez Grey, cut 50% as a Zenithal.... I then remembered how mad I got at myself for not scraping the mold lines on my DDS 2 terrain, and got busy.... Was pleasantly surprised that only the 2 upright pieces with lintle stones had anything at all noticeable.... Then the Black (Cut 50% this time!) and Grey were redone on those 2 pieces.... Pretty much plan to follow the same paint scheme that I did for my DDS 2....
  13. I'm creating a world in my LOST WORLD PROJECT. When doing this I made a project within a project. WIP's here: http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/73979-taniths-awakening-by-xherman1964/ http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/69308-lost-world-project-xherman1964-paints-coldblooded-creatures-and-conquistadores/ Since she would not be visible enough in the diorama alone, I made a separate thread for her. This is ALSNIA @knarthex's daughter. It all started out when the real Alsnia showed a pic of a albino snake with flowers on it's head. Things rapidly spun out of control and the project was born and merged with my own project. For the Show Off of TANITH'S AWAKENING look at this: Here is Alsnia Solo. I used Bones Sarah the Seeress 77210 for this.
  14. So I finally got tired of this guy, and basically finished him up, put him on the base and called him done.... Tried a few new things with him, such as adding an off white to the base color of his skin for high lighting, as well as the work on his "Skirt" Overall, I am certainly happy with him as a piece to be used eventually in a Frostgrave campaign... Thanks for looking! G OOpsie, WiP here June will be the Black Orc Archer, The Haminister of Truth and I poked around the catalog and came up with next months mini... 03429: Black Orc Archer in Metal 77056: Orc Sniper (Archer) For those of you that prefer Bones.... G
  15. I got a bottle of Badger Stynylrez primer in my Reapercon swag bag, as did those of you that got one, and I just tried it out on some 1/4" blue insulation foam for a project the other evening, and it did NOT eat the foam in any way, shape, or form. I shot it through my airbrush, thinned about 50% with W&N Flow improver and water.... ***For Science!!!***
  16. So there hasn't been a lot of mojo around S.N.O.R.K.L.E. HQ recently, but I have been painting a little bit every night.... Scale 75 Field Grey and SS Camo Shadow 50% Field grey, Field Grey and Camo Highlight 50% on the skin GW Scorched Brown, WC Ochre 5, and some red or other for the eyes... GW Bestial Brown then VMC Bronze on the armor.... Thanks for lookin!
  17. So, It's May the First, Time for a new Hangout Mini! Continuing in our theme of Building a Frostgrave Warband, This Month, our mini is Blacktongue, Gnoll Ranger, 03190 in metal, 77104 in bones. Now I have 20+ of the Old Ral Partha Gnolls in 25mm, so this guy, being much bigger than them, will be a Flind from Fiend Folio... On the other hand, I painted the first of my Partha Gnolls using Ral Partha Mane Yellow, so this guy needs to be different.... Going back to MMI, Gnolls have a Green Grey Fur, so I decided that I would use SC75 Field Grey 38 50% with SC75 SS Camo Shade, mixed with some Nacre mixed 50% with the aforementioned mix as my base coat, as I now tend to paint 'Dark to Light'.... So here he is with the first basecoat... Even though I am doing the metal version, the way his left arm fit into the ball and socket at the elbow, looked best in more the bones pose than the metal..... So Thanks for looking!
  18. Just discovered that these are available on you tube..... The Gamers 1 The Gamers 2 Dorkness Rising If you have not seen these, especially the 2nd one you are in for a treat!!!!! You,re Welcome
  19. So, I need to paint a ladies handbag for a figure, and it belongs to a lady of questionable virtue.... just wondering how one would go about painting it... something like this: bag is shaped like this: except no handles, just shoulder straps.... Thanks for any and all suggestions! G
  20. So whilst digging around through my 40K stuff looking for things, I found a sprue of GW's plastic ruins, and decided to assemble them and paint them up as generic terrain, hopefully to be used in our upcoming Frostgrave games.... Base coated with GW Rough Coat, a textured spray paint, sadly OOP Primed Black Dry Brushed with GW Stormvermin Fur, Codex Grey, Kommando Khaki, Fortress Grey Daubed with GW Blue, Red, Green, and Brown inks, diluted Dry brushed with GW Codex Grey, Fortress Grey, VMC Stone Grey I normally would have done a dilute Tomwise Sauce wash after the inks, but tonight whilst gabbing on the hangouts, I forgot!... Couple more coats of DullCote and they will be done... Though I may do the black wash now,,, Thoughts???? Thanks for looking!
  21. So I finished him up last night at around 2230hrs, and took pics, but by then it was to late to post.... So Here is My April Hangout of the Month Mini, the Xvart Commander: As a last second thing, I decided to give his sword a green wash as if it were venomous... Hope you Like Him! George WiP here
  22. So, Our own Wizard most Wild mentioned getting this stuff and finding that it worked for him, so I ordered a bottle of it, as I do a little airbrushing from time to time.... I spent 2 hours or so looking at videos on youtube about how this stuff is used, and decided that the Wolf Demon (77307), that I used for the Hangout Airbrush tutorials last year, would be a good test subject for it, as I was not going to jump straight onto Nathvarr... The first recommendation I followed was to spray the model with Glosscote, to protect the paint underneath. I then, again following a tutorial, I daubed the stuff on with a semi junk brush, and let it dry, I then did another coat, and this is what it looked like after it dried... (Taken at the end of my paint session last night) so tonight will see if it works.... ALSO, in one of the tutorials, the artist was coating his W&N SERIES 7 (!) brush with brush soap before painting this stuff on.... The brush I used was one that I liked to use for painting bases and such, and it is pretty much trash by now, even after rinsing often and an overnight soak in W&N Brush Cleaner & Restorer... RIP>>>>
  23. So even though I can't (wont) start painting on this guy til 1 April, I finished cutting off the broccoli, and primed him in the eternal hunt for Mold lines... (I think if I was going to actually change my forum title, "Mold Line Hunter" would likely be it....) I did seriously consider trying to thin the cape down from the 1/8" thick that it is with my dremel tool, but decided against all that work.... So there you have him, waiting for some blue paint.....
  24. So to go along with the Goblin Leader that is the hangout mini of the month for April, I decided to do a companion Xvart... He is a Gobbo from the Ben Seins sculpts, but I thought his head looked a little bare, so after cutting off the broccoli, I decided to sculpt a 'Stahlhelm' on his head.... first layer of putty.... Should I sculpt Jackboots too??? Thoughts and comments welcome!
  25. So I finished up the Oathsworn Mystic Circle and Runestones from the latest KickStarter.... Pentacle by itself: Circle with the different inserts The Runestones: All together: Was a Fun thing to paint.... Thanks for looking!
