  1. First off, I'm a complete sucker for rolling d20s. Second, I've been in a painting slump and can't be bothered to drag all my paints out to paint and/or I'm too intimidated to work on my other projects. Third, my hubby (a.k.a. Wise Kraken) has a conference coming up and is going to be out of town for the last week of September. I'm hoping that I can get my confidence and enthusiasm back if I do a silly project that doesn't require a lot of set-up or over-thinking. So here's the link to the rules post, I'll probably accidentally break some of them because I'm just not planning on stressing about this. (Which, I think, is the point, right??) http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/76666-the-seers-and-a-wizard-present-a-random-rainbow-dragon-challenge/ And here are my pictures: So the dragon is Kryphrixis , and my rolls were 4, 17 & 10. Which is Orange Brown, Marine Teal and Imperial Purple. It's... actually really close to doing a colorful version of a bronze dragon. I didn't cheat, honest!! I'm short the Orange Brown, ironically, but it will probably take as long to order the paint as I'll take to prep the dragon. I haven't decided whether I want to take on one of the extra challenges, it might depend on how I feel or how well the colors mix. It's super tempting to shade with other colors from the same triads, mainly since I've already got them. Wish me luck, and feel free to gently prod me to work on this guy. EDIT: Deleted duplicate image of die rolls.
  2. Right, so for those of you who haven't seen it, Cyradis, Sirithiliel, and Pezler the Polychromatic launched the Random Rainbow Dragon Challenge last month (check it out! http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/76666-the-seers-and-a-wizard-present-a-random-rainbow-dragon-challenge/), and I couldn't resist the temptation to enter. I chose Kryphrixis for my, er, test subject, and I wound up getting Cloudy Grey for my primary color, Violet Red for the secondary color, and Lemon Yellow for the tertiary color. I took the 3 Star challenge, which meant I could only use the original three colors I rolled, plus black and white. WiP is here: http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/76990-ironhammer-is-taking-the-random-rainbow-dragon-challenge/ So here is the finished figure! This really was a speed paint in the end, all told it took me somewhere around 4.5 hours. Cheers! Thanks to Cyradis, Sirithiliel, and Pezler for organizing this, I had a lot of fun with this guy!
  3. I decided to join in on the fun. I selected Ebonwrath as my dragon. then rolled my colors. Pure Black, Cloudy Grey, Pure White Well interesting but not very colorful. I will go with it but having never painted anything a monotone grey-scale any suggestions or advice. I'm going to need something to switch off with to prevent eye strain. So back to the boxes of bone to find another dragon. Kryphrixis is the first one I find so he'll be my second dragon. Roll for colors gets me. Marine Teal, Clotted Red, Violet Red That's better and should make for a good looking dragon. Don't have any of those paint colors Yay an excuse to place an order for more paint. While I wait for a few days for my order to arrive i can prepare both dragons and get started on Ebonwrath. Both dragons will be painted as a 3*** challenge.
  4. I will be painting Kryphrixis and the colors I rolled were: 9029 earth brown 9077 marine teal 9227 brilliant green
  5. Hello everybody! The last WIP I attempted is on hiatus due to um...losing the figure while packing away things to clean the carpet. Dragon selected: Krupixis (spelling) Challenge level: * * * Paints Primary: Palomino Gold Secondary: Olive Green Tertiary: Blush Pink Extras: Pure White and Pure Black "Let's rock this joint!"
