  1. The challenge complete! I present Kai, the Strawberry Dragon! Thank you all for the challenge and the feedback!
  2. I, Echoside, will be undergoing this awesome challenge as my Dragon and paints have arrived from Denton. I have chosen the victim of Kyphrixis, The Copper Dragon for this 3-star challenge. Will be using green and red liner to prime. My rolls: So after his bath, it was picture time! I think he will end up being a Strawberry Dragon! First off, I sorry for the Cut/Paste first post, but it was fitting. Secondly, Kai (the moniker I've given to him) got himself primed up and ready for more layers while out at a
  3. Congratulations, you have found the thread for posting your completed Random Rainbow Dragon!! The original quest can be seen here: Please provide a link to your Show Off Thread (which should include the model # you chose in its tags), a link to the Work in Progress thread, a brief statement of what colors you rolled, a statement of what dragon you painted (for search purposes), and photos of your lovely dragon. The Mods may make grumpy faces and remove chatter-posts from this thread. For chatter, please go to the original quest thread. You
  4. This is my first post here! I have been encouraged for a while to join the forums and share some of the mini's that I have painted. I have been painting for many years dabbling in many styles and mediums. I've gotten more serious about my mini work the last couple years though. I was hesitant to share my work, but figured, "What the heck! Why not!" I decided to start with this model as it is one of my favorites to paint and I just love glitter, man! I painted this up for my first con last fall and it was actually purchased by my bestie, he then requested I add the gl
  5. I finished this up right at Christmas to give to a friend as a gift. This is the first dragon I've ever painted (though I have been painting historical stuff for many, many years). It was certainly a learning experience, painting a dragon is not like painting a WW2 tank, and if I had been smart I would have done one for myself first as a test but time was of the essence and I was glad I finished it in time. I picked purple because its one of my friend's favorite colors, and was pleased to find there are actually purple dragons in fantasy, called Deep Dragons. I bought the Royal Pur
  6. I actually really enjoy working with a limited color palette, so when I saw this thread proposing a color palette limited to 3 rolls of a d20 against a preselected chart of colors, I had to jump in! Now the Reapercon is finished, I thought it high time I finally started my dragon. I chose Kyphrixis, because he's such a cute little dragon (plus he's the only one of the 3 available options I actually had but that totally has no bearing on my decision whatsoever ). Here are my colors: Since the print is kind of small, here's the numbers: 19, 11, 15. So, according to
  7. Hi All! Here's Kyphrixis from the Bones 3 Kickstarter which I've been working on for the last few weeks. Thanks for looking!
  8. Well after following this phenomenon for a while I have decided to paint a dragon. I rolled the following. so the only issue I have is what colour to use instead of blush pink. I have the the following four colours to choose from. from left to right: Warlock Purple Punk Rock Pink Pink Horror Tentacle Pink i think Punk Rock is the closest.
  9. Ok, this looks fun and gives me something to do between coats on Khanjira. I'm choosing two, Kyphrixis and clear Pyphrixis, for this one. I want to see if I can make a shadow version of Kyphrixis. Looks like a lot of wash and ink making. Both are currently drying so I'm using the KS image.
  10. Painting a dragon with random palette of colors was a fun challenge. One of the most fun to paint this year. (tied with Hippo King) Contest Thread Combined Show-Off thread WIP Insomnia started out as a storm dragon, but I chose to go with ocean waves instead. I didn't have a sea dragon, and was having fun with water bases. at 3 weeks of painting it is the second fastest dragon I have finished. Really it just flew by, and I kept making more time to work on him. His name is Insomina because of more than the usual late or middle of the night paintin
  11. Yah, I buckled. Lookit my arm, it's /all/ bent outta shape.. *cough* Right then! So, there's a dragon in pieces on my desk. I have chosen my challenge level (3 STARS!) and rolled my colours.. and gurgled, because my dice roller thinks it's funny. So! My primary colour is Lava Orange. My Secondary is Imperial Purple, and my miscellaneous colour is Cloudy Grey. Using Pure White and Pure Black for shading, and otherwise using /no other colours/, I will paint this dragon! ... no. Really. It'll be a nice change from all the !%[email protected] draconians....
