  1. A sizeable structure! This kit comes with several decals, some for a bank, some for a Carnegie library, plus others. I chose an old limestone look for it. The facade is suitably imposing. Plenty of room for conversions and signs on that architrave, too. Corner view: One side has two rows of windows, the other, a blank forbidding wall. I figured the building should look old enough to have some verdigris runoff from the mullions. It's a good scenic backdrop! The other side is a perfect canvas for some graffiti--will have to work on that. Versatile and well-made!
  2. And so it begins... floorplans and foamcore. I couldnt find the post where I originally shared the link to floorplans, but a quick Google search turned up a version with BASEMENT! Now it all makes sense. I'll be doing a variation of the horizontal (top) layout with added stacks in the basement (and smaller lecture room). This will be the setting for my Gemma Files diorama. I will be doing fancy paper "wallpaper" on the inside. Stained popsicle sticks wood floors on the main, and concrete on the basement (tile bathrooms) with carpet in the staff and lecture rooms. I intend for it to be playable, with separate floors (and roof). I'm debating FANCY openable windows. Brownstone, with tar roof and stone trim. I went with the built in size constraints of the folding presentation board on purpose.
  3. The whole gang (at least, until I order Prof. Laura Pringle from Chronoscope)! Thank you for bearing with me on this project!
  4. The last of my July paint binge is Sophie.
  5. Now the exchange mini is done I started work on a new diorama. This will be the inside of a fantasy Library where a party of adventurers is planning a trip. Central will be a large globe. The back will be two stories high with build in bookcases and a walkway on the second floor. The plan is to have one sidewall with a large window and a tapestry. The walls will have wood paneling and possible a mosaic floor. As I am waiting on some materials I started painting the minis for the diorama. The gentleman contemplating the floor is Grand Master Pycelle from Dark Sword. The floor is a test piece I made to see if it works. What do you think? In the back are from left to right: Ailyn Ghonstasavos, Hellknight Captain, Jolie Female Scribe, Balto Burrowell, Cleric of Mammon and the Discworld Librarian from microartstudio. In the planning are also books (duh), maps and all kinds of curios things and knickknacks. Oh, and cats.
