  1. As I often do during fundraiser projects, I tried to focus exclusively on Stonehaven Miniatures while they had their recent Kickstarter. i actually finished these back in October and just totally forgot to post to this forum! Some had been WiP for quite some time. I've been experimenting more with Speedpaints and found them helpful in pieces I found myself less motivated on.
  2. The combination of GW announcing the return of Squats with "The Leagues of Votann" and the mining themes in the expansion "Stargrave: The Last Prospector", I may have gone overboard with the Space Miner theme. No idea what I'd use most of these guys for. All resin minis are printed on my Elegoo Mars Pro. I also experimented a bit with Army Painter Speedpaints this time. The first set are the Galactic Mining League from Cyber-Forge. The Squats are printed at 80%, their Ogryn buddies at 155%. These are a variety from Thingiverse. Asteroid Miners and Space Dwarfs. These were my first real edit: I removed their arms before printing and used Oathmark Dwarf Light Infantry arms. And per The Galactic Miners Union Charter Subsection 16B, the guild is no longer Squat only. Warhammer Cadian Bodies, Stargrave Heads, and arms from Fireforge Peasants and Oathmark Dwarf Infantry Same as above, but the bodies are 3D prints "Space Denim"
  3. To celebrate the ongoing Reaper Miniatures: Bones 6 Kickstarter, I decided to paint nothing but Bones while it runs. Here are the current results (though there's a lot more that got a few colors and were set aside) The Catoblepas: The Hydra: The Greater Basilisk: Cockatrices: The Plague Twins: Patchwork Golems: 'Folk Wizards: Feral Vampire: KOBZAR SOLOVEIKO, NIGHTINGALE BARD Shroomie The Bones 6 Promo Goblin:
  4. I've just finished with the first batch from the new Kingpin of Dunkeldorf Kickstarter. They're very fun miniatures, nice details and an Oldhammer feel.
  5. "And it's a curious feature of Giants that they rise from their graves." These minis came from a variety of sources, and were re-scaled to try to match Reaper Frost Giants. All were printed on an Elegoo Mars. The Draugr Jotunn is from "DrunkenDwarfMinis" The Giant Skeleton is from "Crippled God Foundry" The last is a Hill Giant Zombie from "RMPrintable"
  6. Rare for me, a one miniature thread. It seemed to be appropriate for the season to paint him up. I missed Krampusnacht by a bit, oh well.
  7. Here's a collection of spooky terrain I painted over October. All of them are from the Shadowfey set from Printable Scenery and printed on an Ender-3.
  8. Spooky season is almost a wrap, so what better project than this year's Ghoulie Bag promo? One of them arrived missing an arm, but Reaper's awesome customer service replaced him. He got a WH Beastman shield to fix it (and a Chaos Warrior mace) The other conversion has a Beastman axe and slightly reposed arms.
  9. It's that time of year for Orcs...but I already did that. So it's time to get spooky instead! Here's my latest from Bones V (and recent promos) on that front. The Overgourd, since they demand an October paint job: Scarecrows: vampiresses of Ravenhome: Captain Barty Redd: And his Zombie Crew:
  10. And here are some of my other works keeping in the spooky theme. Since he was metal and not Bones, Rotpatch went here. @MattParody was nice enough to include this Radukar the Wolf in our last trade box. Who doesn't love giant Cossack Vikings? a Death Tyrant from Nolzur's Some Spiders from Wargames Atlantic, also the most likely to hit a table soon for RoSD
  11. Thanks to a generous gift from one of my players, I got a chance to paint the new version of Zodgrod Wortsnogga, the first miniature I painted some 21 years ago. I tried to copy the bizarre color scheme of the original Tamiya Acrylics as much as I could, the new plastic version has some drastic design changes. The new one was using all Reaper paints and Army Painter tones.
  12. It is Orctober, my dudes. First up, the Dungeon Dwellers Orcs of the Ragged Wound Tribe And Goblins are just little Orcs, right? What better way to celebrate Orctober than little Orcs?
  13. Another day, another set of painted miniatures from Bones V. There's always room for ruins. as if the frozen wastes weren't bad enough, here comes the Mamlord. Super Merrow Brothers Just an Ogre living the simple life. At least the Firbolg seem friendly. Sea-Dwelling Slithe Catfolk, who are innocent of this crime I figured if they were a main culprit for the shipping delays, I should paint the Dragonfolk early on rather than letting them languish in a box. Scatter matters.
  14. Round 3 of finished minis from Bones V. These were the cheating ones, picked because they didn't need a lot of different colors. "For the Wizard who prefers a classical flair." "Relax, it's just a statue...hey did those gemstones blink?" . "It's all fun and games until the animatronics stab you 32 times." "Are you ready to rock?" "For the traditional Golem afficianado, the Clay Golem." "Gettin' twiggy with it"
  15. Here's a collection of the second batch of finished minis I have from Bones V. Party like a Barty. Yoho, a Pirate's unlife for me: Draugr...I mean, Rune Wights. They're not sure why they've been typecast as Thieves: "What do your Elven eyes see?" Kobolds, the only thing as dangerous as a Giant Rat in a starter dungeon. Under the Sea.
  16. I'd been in a little bit of a painting slump since we had to put our older dog to sleep. I'd been going from project to project and painting here and there but nothing came close to being finished but terrain. Miniatures themselves had too many details. The recent arrival of RBJ Game Company's "Yippers & Squealers" Kickstarter helped. First up is Pokechop the Porkgre, quite a massive beastie. Wyllow the Witch ws another mini from the Kickstarter.
  17. In my first set of finished miniatures in 2021, a selection of heroes from Stonehaven Adventurers 2020 Kickstarter. They were primed at the end of 2020 after a end of year arrival, but painted over the last month or so. The whole of my finished ones: The Orcs: My favorite of the set. They showed her as concept art on Instagram about 3 projects ago, I'm glad to see her in physical form finally. The Goblins: I got a very Nott the Brave vibe from this one: A Kobold with some fancy gear: Some live some day in the way of the froggy guys: Tieflings: A Dragonborn Wizard: Some live some die in the way of this Hobgoblin Guy...wait I used that one already? Darn.
  18. The other set of first completed miniatures of 2021, miniatures from the Dunkeldorf range from King Games. Very inspired by Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay. The majority of them are from the newer Prancing Peacock Kickstarter but some selections I made were from the existing line. The tables and chairs are cheating, I think they're from Mantic Terrain Crate and were ready already, I didn't back for any of the extra scenery from Dunkeldorf. The Tavern Crowd: The assorted masses: The more militant members: And assorted others:
  19. After a certain owner of RBJ Game Company kept trash talking my simple windmill, I decided it was time for an upgrade, because every village game needs a lonely windmill to joust at. Everything is printed on an Ender 3. Here, Farmer Forscale fills in for his nobleborn cousin (Reaper 77665: Townsfolk) Next to the older Windmill, a file from Thingiverse
  20. As every year I make at least one Pit Fighter as a sacrifice to a Mordheim revival, I started out early this year. For the holidays, a friend got me the Greenfield Grasshuggers Blood Bowl team, despite me not playing, he said it felt weird to have a team named in my honor but I didn't own it. So instead, he enabled this horror: Out of the cruel depths of Mordheim's cheapest fighting pits comes the never-victor, the eternally battered Halfling Gladiator only known as Bloodytoes! The other is an as-is Ogre Gladiator from Knightmare Models. Delightfully retro.
  21. Seemingly unrelated to each other, but I swear all these minis were drying from the sealer by 11:23pm on 12/31/2020. Here are....Lidless Eye's Last Minis of 2020! A Winter Wizard from Reaper Miniatures oh wait it's Santa, isn't it? To back him up, some friendly Reindeer to back him up. Wait, I'm being informed they're actually Grashrak's Despoilers from Warhammer: Underworlds The last bit of their native habitat, a fallen tree (3D print from The Lost Adventures) A creepy Scarecrow Puppet familiar from Reaper Miniatures. Arik Axereaver, Barbarian, acquired as a bonus along with the Father Christmas. His head seems to reflect everything in the lightbox. And doing what we all should from the last year, the Fleeing Halfling from Warploque Miniatures. He must know Johann.
  22. Slightly delayed to finish, and even more delayed to post to the forums, are my usual themed miniatures from November: Dwarves! Beardy folk seem most appropriate for No-Shave November. Redcaps pretending to be Dwarves from Massive Darkness A Duergar Trapper from Stonehaven Miniatures The Dwarf King from the small release "The Dwarf King's Court, Revisited" by Colin Dixon Miniatures A Warhammer Dwarf Miner where I think I remembered how flames work: This was going to be my PC for Rise of the Runelords, but the game ended before I ever painted him. Grimlok Rockholmes, the World's 2nd Greatest Dwarf Detective. SKU: 50319: OLAV GUNDERSON, DWARF GAMBLER The only beardless member, SKU 77413: Margara, Dwarf Shaman SKU 77572: Dwarf Master of the Hunt. Jason Wiebe always manages to hide fun details: I hadn't realized his jacket was a dragonskin and not just armor plates until I was almost done and wound up painting it to match. Another Pathfinder Iconic that took way too long, SKU 89020 Harsk, Iconic Dwarf Ranger
  23. Just a random collection of recently painted 3D prints. All of these are from a slightly modified Creality Ender-3 A Longship from EC3D: The Wilds of Wintertide The Draken Airship, from Lovecraft Designs Oh, well! Also from Lovecraft Designs The Ferisia Mage Tower:
  24. I know I messed up the timing this year, and worked on Deadcember instead of Orctober. I wasn't feeling super-motivated by the small amount of unpainted Orcs I had, but from my Frostgrave II: Arcanic Boogaloo order had a ton of the living dead. And one never has enough Zombies. However, it means there's plenty of spookybois to be shown off! The Draugr, mostly converted from the Fireforge Living Dead Peasants and Frostgrave Barbarians with some Warhammer bits. The Knockers, again Fireforge Living Dead Peasants with Warhammer Dwarf Miners hats and bits from Mantic and Mage Knight. I think I should go back and add big rucksacks...and redo the flames to be the correct order. Just plain Fireforge Living Dead Peasants, with the exception of a Frostgrave Cultist head for the Executioner. The Old Vet, a 3D print from Retro Quest Undead Pirates from EC3D "Depths of Savage Atoll" Former Imperials, converted from Warhammer Empire, Mantic Undead, and Frostgrave Cultists (Undead bits) Mostly Mantic. Beware the spine whip! And lastly, when your Necromancer runs out of skulls, the Creeping Claws! 3D prints from Crippled God Foundry
  25. A grouping from RBJ Games Company's latest Kickstarter, Pig-Faced Orcs (and Ettin Bodyguard!) Not'Nord, the Ettin(ess) Normal Nord: Shooty Nord: Shootier Nord: Iron Nord: Smashy Nord: Guardy Nord: Tossy Nord:
