I will paint and create a Reptilian Army pure for fun. It will consists of many different kind of Reptiles and Amphibians. Mostly Snakemen, Lizardmen, Frogmen, Dragonmen, Turtlemen, Fishmen, Dinosaurs and Insects. I will happily include any monster I think will fit. A Tarrasque will be the centrepiece at some sort as the Living Lizard God. I do not play any games, so this will be pure for my own and (I hope your) fun to create. EDIT: The above was my original plan, over time and thanks to the comments made by other Forumites, this has developed into a story. This resulted in more Factions I wanted to build and paint, so this Project now also includes Pirates, Conquistadores, Native Warriors based on Inca/Aztec/Maya cultures. EDIT: And now it will also include Undead! *********** Captain Luigiano and his army had been travelling through the jungle for weeks now. The sunlight was blocked by the dense canopy of trees. Some of the men had contracted fever, and those darn mosquitos were a big nuisance! He looked at the golden plaque he had obtained. Gold, with a snakeman made out of gems on it. With this he had convinced the men to follow him. Somewhere in this accursed jungle there was a city made of gold, he was sure of it. They would conquer this city and become rich beyond belief. He looked at his army, they even had a few cannons. Nothing would stop them! Finally they reached a clearance. The men were pleased, at least they could see the sun again. They took a rest and a drink, tended to the sick. Suddenly they heard a loud roar from the other side of the clearing. Birds flew away, trees where falling! Some poison darts flew and two soldiers fell, they died before they hit the ground. A loud roar and an enormous terrifying Lizard appeared. One soldier died out of fear from just looking at it. Then the Reptilian Horde emerged from the Jungle. **************************

Assembled my crew and prepped and primed them. Two clopsen troopers, a lizardman recruit, sniper and another recruit/ chisler. A gnoll commando, medic and recruit, and a cultist recruit/hacker and trooper. Edit: It is a bit funny that My crew isn't using much of the actual Stargrave miniatures other than a few arms and guns, but then this is just the first crew, and I'll need some ruffians and pirates as well.

After painting a bunch of orcs I was pretty sick of green skin tones, so these Lizardmen Archers are blue. Also, why they got to be Lizard "men" Reaper? I'm not an expert in sexual dimorphism amongst lizards, but maybe one of these two lizardfolk is actually a female... All joking aside, I only painted 2 out of this 4 lizardfolk set, and was planning on painting the other two in about a year or so to track any improvements in my skill level.

Last year I backed the Lost Kingdoms Miniatures Cuetzpal Kickstarter. It fits right into my Lost World so ...eh.. I bought almost everything, and this year I backed their STL 3D files Kickstarter and got all the rest... Anyway, this is the first one I painted. Tlemiahuatl a Fire Salamander. Good morning everybody and Happy New Year! So I actually had these painted since the very beginning of the year, but had to go out of town and couldn't get their bases finished until I got back. So here are my first miniatures completed for 2020, four lizard men that Julie Guthrie sculpted for Ral Partha if I recall correctly in 1982-1983 with her series All Things Dark and Dangerous. I've always really loved these figures and have had them on my pending list of stuff to paint, but finally got around to really painting them. I painted each one in a different color because I wanted a bit of variety. They did all start of though being covered by a good layer of Creamy Ivory (Reaper) and then I did washes on all that, and then afterwards chose the actual color and kept going. Anyhow, hope you guys like these guys!

I started painting these in 2007! I had received two sets on clearance from a gaming website. I picked them up again briefly in 2011. I had just purchased a bunch of Vallejo Game Colors. I recently picked them up again to get them off the shelf of shame that they seemed to be permanent fixtures of. Sadly, the VGC Paints were not able to salvage. One of them was more done than the others, so he looks a little different. The front right of the first picture. I finished them off quickly with Reaper paints. This was the first time I primed minis white, then built up layers of very thinned basecoats. It made these guys much brighter. Sorry some of the pics are out of focus. I am thinking to do the next set more black/red or more of a realistic lizard scheme. Enjoy.

My latest project, complete. You can find the WIP thread here. I did an experiment, using ridges of dirt flocking to hold in water effects. It actually worked out reasonably well, though next time I'll know to build up the rest of the base more. I also decided this one was female, on the basis that she's noticeably larger than the other two. I'm rather happy with how the shield came out here. It looked a bit like a horseshoe crab to me, so I wanted to make it look nice and chitinous, as though she tore it from the back of some great swamp arthropod. My first freehand. It was supposed to be an anchor-shaped tattoo to start with, but I messed that up, and decided to just go with an abstract design. I cheated on the pupils for these guys. I bought a micron pen, and it worked out rather well. I probably would have gone with a solid color for the eyes, otherwise. This was the only one to have any sort of decoration on his integral base. The others are pure broccoli, but he's got a little plant on his. Gave it a nice pale green color to contrast with his scales. The color is actually a mystery paint Reaper sent me. I actually have two bottles of the stuff, from two orders from around the same time. I'll be sad when it runs out. It's a very nice color. And here we have his turtleshell shield. I actually looked up pictures of real turtles and cobbled together characteristics of several species for the color selection and pattern. And here's the whole happy family, together. Touching, really.

A quickie batch of Mantic "Kings of War" Salamanders, done up as cave-dwelling Troglodyte types. Had an issue with some fuzzy primer with these games...curse you, southern Virginia. Thought I fixed it, but the photos betray it...

These are 3 Warhammer Fantasy Lizardman Kroxigors (big lizardmen) that I painted up just because I liked the models. The blueish one is the champion and his sorta triceratops skull helmet is sculpted from Milliput with plastic horns. I'm still really happy with these guys except for that skull, it feels like it doesn't have enough detail to me now.

Sorry for posting this a day late...These are for the 2015 resolutionary challenge. As per the resolutionary painting challenge guidelines, I will post them here, and link in my post in the challenge thread. So here goes: Three old lead Lizardmen by Harlequin Miniatures round off the year. I found some in the old stash some time ago. For some reason, I really like these minis, even though they are a bit rough in the details. Keeping it simple, done in much the same colour scheme as the Raptors I did earlier in the year. The shield on the smaller one is not the original for that model (which I could not find). This week I completed the commander-in-chief figure for my 10mm Lizardman Army: The Mage-King of the Lizardmen. For the base of it I used the Games Workshop Lizardman "Tetto'eko" figure, which I was fortunate enough to get a good deal on from a friend at a convention Flea Market last year. To make the conversion from 28mm to 10mm I did a couple modification. First, I cut the tall feathers off of each of the side partitions to reduce the overall height appearance. And then I simply didn't add the pair of pillars that are suppose to go on the deck, and the three that are mounted underneath. After I assembled the throne, I test fit different arrangements of Pendraken 10mm Lizardmen until I found a pleasing composition. It was then just a matter of painting the throne and its occupants. I am pleased with how it came out. I think the original model is just scale-neutral enough to make a convincing king-sized 10mm throne.

Finished a model for another contest. I've seen my competition, and I'm pretty sure I'm not gonna win. Still pretty happy with how it turned out, though. The large plants are all from aquarium furniture, given a little drybrushing, and glued in.

A WFRP game I'm running has been going pretty well, but the PCs might be running across a lost city of the lizardmen and I'd like to know if anybody knows of any good maps of the inside layouts of Central America style pyramids. I'm not having much luck finding maps of RL or RPG step pyramids so I figured I'd ask here if anyone knows of any decent ones. It will be Tlax-City of ghosts, so while the PCs will likely run screaming into the jungle eventually, they are really good at will power tests so they may have time to get some sight seeing in.

Working on my next project, some lizardmen. These will eventually see use around a gaming table, if I ever get a gaming group. So far just the basecoats on the scales are done. The main body is painted in a mix of three drops grass green to one drop breonnie blue. The belly scales were first painted with three drops oiled leather to one drop sun yellow, and then given a midtone of one-to-one oiled leather and sun yellow. I'll probably go pure sun yellow for the highest highlight, and maybe put a red wash into the crannies. Not sure about the rest, but I'm thinking a drybrush with some bloodstone might be nice.
