  1. For Minivember I will try to do a different model each day (duplicates or similar models (from the same unit or suchlike still only count as one!). If you want to see the rest of my minivember minis, feel free to have a look at my painting blog..I won't be posting each and every one here, just the Reaper minis and maybe some that I find especially interesting. Yes, they will be speedpaints, just like all my minis. After recently painting the Hasslefree Agarix mushroom men, I have been thinking which minis I have that might fit a Mario-theme. There are some, the Bones Dragon T
  2. I ordered the Mars attacks game the other day and got it this morning I couldn't resist painting this model I really hope you guys like it I have a few more models to list this week as I paint most days! So here he is Flea Rider!!
  3. This year the minis I manage to paint will all count towards the resolutionary challenge. As per the resolutionary painting challenge guidelines, I will post them here, and link in my post in the challenge thread. Ack-Ack-Ack-Ack Finished a second squad of the Mars Attacks! Martian Grunts. Some of the helmets are a bit wonky in the picture, as they are not glued down yet. I use thinned PVA for that, because it sets transparent and can be scraped off with ease if the need arises. Martian Grunts Mars Attacks! the miniatures game Mantic Entertainment PVC (that is rat
  4. Continuing on with the Febuary challenge goals I set myself, (painting at least one of each from the following categories: Reaper Bones, Oathsworn, All Quiet of the Martian Front, Warhammer Fantasy, Warhammer 40.000, Kings of War, Deadzone, DreadBall, Mars Attacks, Shadows of Brimstone, Sedition Wars, Drake, Grendel Productions something or other, and to finish something that currently stands around half-done on the shelf of shame), I have done a few minis over the weekend, As per the resolutionary painting challenge guidelines, I will post them here, and link in my post in the challenge th
  5. I drilled a hole in a 10x10mm piece of wood. I used first a 5.5mm drill, but needed to make it bigger, I'm not sure if I used a 6.0mm or 6.5mm drill. You can put a dome in the hole and use the wood on sand paper. Don't use to much pressure on it! The piece of wood should not touch the sandpaper! You must end with it before it the sandpaper touch the wood! Check sometimes if you are satisfied with the size before it is to short! On the backside is a small hole to remove the dome. Do not use something to pointy. :-)
  6. Here you can see what I plan to do with my BSR and Saucer. 1. Take them apart (it was easy to do) 2. glue where the pilot should be a magnet and same to the pilot 3. glue dome to the saucer or BSR 4. glue strong magnets in the BSR and Saucer to put it later together. 5. the Backpack is not glued to the robot yet, it will be magnetized, too! I do not think I can do it before next year, because I need to order some magnets. For the BSR I plan to do more, I will put soon pictures and explanations online.
  7. In the moment I'm working on Sidney & Henry Henry had a Flea Circus which was not succesful anymore. Nobody was interested anymore to see such attraction. During the mars attacks he met a dying soldier who gave him a bottle with bug gas. Sidney used it on his fleas and started to fight back. So I thought I need also fleas without riders and made them: Still much work to do they need highlights and more.
  8. Just started with my clear stands. I bought 1cm clear tubes with 6mm holes. Also bought 6mm clear rods, but they were 6,2mm, so I had a lot of work to get them to fit in the holes. The next rods will be more clear as this one. In the moment I can put one saucer on 5 Deadzone height level. I still need to make a base (or use the original one) and get magnets so the saucer on the top can be removed easily. - Only difference to this picture I made it that I glued a rod filling most of the tube, showing out of the top. In the bottom I can connect other parts. - The first tube unde
  9. In a few weeks many Mars Attacks backers will get the crashed Saucer. Big problem! The dome is not not clear plastic, so the inside is not visible. I'm and many others are not really good at painting freehand. So how to paint it? I do not want to paint it in any color, it should be clear. Interesting ideas from the Kickstarter comments: 1. Wulf: "Do the crashed saucer dome in white with crackle glaze, it'll look like shattered perspex." 2. Undave: "You could always paint the crashed saucer dome to look like exploded Martian and then give it a heavy gloss varnish." 3. Another
  10. My first thoughts on painting the minis: If you start masspainting your Mars Attacks and want do it fast. I have for example 40 human soldiers to paint. I think it is possible with this method to have them all completed in 4-8 hours, eventuall even with highlights. Preparing the minis: 0. if possible train painting on a few metal minis, not necessary, but helpful. 1. wash the minis. Use Soapy water, I use normally a fat solvent spray. 2. use a primer, I would use white primer, but black or grey is ok, too Don't use to much, you should be still able to see the details. With a double-sided tape
