  1. Since I hadn't seen many other paint jobs go by I thought people might like to see my goblin in power armor. And a blood nebula mercenary for scale.
  2. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1662635043/waylaid-by-bandits-volume-2/description Story It was the Baron himself who nailed up the poster in Midlam the town square. WANTED: LADY WILDWOOD and sundry associated gang members - For Murder, extortion, petty theft and highway robbery. REWARD - 10 Gold Coins for Lady Wildwood and 1 Gold Coin per gang member. Speculation and rumour was rife! Who were these new Bandits that were plaguing Midlam? Who was the mysterious and dangerous Lady Wildwood? It seemed that the town had been under siege, first from Captain Grief's Gang and then the Hobgoblin Rainding Party, and now this gang of merciless women! Bounty hunters muttered in dark corners of Inns, looking for information and squads of Town Guard regularly marched out into the surrounding countryside in their pursuit. But still the robberies and raids continued... Waylaid by Bandits Volume Two A gang of eleven 28mm scale bandits, thugs and ruffians, lead by the Notorious Lady Wildwood, for all of your fantasy miniature games. Waylaid by Bandits Volume One You can also, should you wish, include our first bandit gang with your pledge. Captain Grief's Gang is a series of of eleven 28mm scale bandits, thugs and ruffians, including the original stretch goal 'George the Grind'. You could then mix and match your bandits or have them as deadly rivals! Waylaid by Bandits Volume One It's only an 11 day project, so hury up and back.
  3. Just a little something I got finished yesterday, hope everyone had a good Thanksgiving, be safe if you're venturing out on Black Friday.
  4. So I've always have had problems pinning a round object, more or less trying to get the pin vise/drill into the round part of the piece. In this instance, the round part is the hand of the river troll 14008 (Warlord line). The wrist has a perfect indentation for the "ball" of the hand. With having to travel to play & such & of course actual gameplay I don't trust superglue alone. Any tips?
  5. Warren of Vile Fungi is scheduled to start at 7:00 pm EST on Friday, November 1. It will include over 2 dozen individual fungoid-based miniatures developed and sculpted by Pedro Navarro. He's been working on this project for over 2 years in collaboration with Mortal Arrow. It's a deep dive into heroic, fantastic, and terrifying fungal beings from the 1970's to the present. Ascomoids, Gas Spores, Basidironds, Ustilagors, corrupted Myconids, and heroic Myconids are just some of the many hand-sculpted miniatures from Pedro. The project itself will be live for only 2 weeks, so please consider supporting this effort by Mortal Arrow and Pedro Navarro. Every little bit of aid is important to us, so we kindly ask that you follow this project at the link below: https://www.kickstarter.com/…/12638849…/warren-of-vile-fungi You can see more details about the miniatures on the Mortal Arrow Facebook and Pedro's blog here: http://mr-bugman.blogspot.com/ We will be posting details and updates on this thread as well. Thanks in advance for everyone's help and enthusiasm!!! We are very excited to bring scary, and heroic, fungi to peoples around the globe!!
  6. These savages are on Kickstarter. My first Kickstarter! There are all kinds of add ons lurking in here too. Thanks Reaper for providing this forum! https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1648985407/rise-of-the-powrie?ref=creator_nav
  7. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/554542735/space-raiders-the-space-goblins?ref=creator_nav&fbclid=IwAR2h-8VsOTVqQQ_gMAqIGt7JgDvMDxwHvFgWQzDCAKXjyUCuYXr2m1TbpFY Space Riders "The Space Goblins!" This is the 4th chapter in the Space Raiders range. Bringing miniatures with the classic late 80's and early 90's oldschool look and cast in metal (except for those especified). This time focusing on the Space Goblins and the Mind Controllers. They will the perfect reinforcements for your classic armies or maybe you'll start right from here! You can see more pics of all of them at my Facebook group, Space Raiders:https://www.facebook.com/groups/775315502580794/ The new Goblins and orc arms are sculpted by the goblin master himself KEVIN ADAMS, while the Mind controller is no other than Bob Olley! Two true oldhammer legends!
  8. Okay I might have a problem when it comes to collecting and painting dragons. They fascinate me. This dragon has been produced by many companies, I think Dark Sword holds the rights at this point but it was also produced by RAFM and Ral Partha and probably others as well. She is a small thing but still fun and relatively simple to paint up. The dragon back has a very fine scale texture making the wide expanse of a back difficult to display (for her brothers and sisters I will probably incorporate some sort of design) properly. Hope you enjoy
  9. Just a few more pieces that I completed over the memorial day weekend. The problem with these show offs is I don't usually get to post them until after the thread wraps up... Fun to paint and a really great sculpt, I didn't do the piece justice but I do like how it turned out. It did give me a chance to practice my flame and yellows and reds. Hope you like it too!
  10. Statuesque Miniatures Ok. We're all set. The Kickstarter launches on Tuesday! It's not a massively long campaign, so tell everyone! Your friends, your family, even your enemies - maybe they just need tiny metal toys in their lives and will forever more be much better people! You'll be able to grab the full set of miniatures or choose from smaller sets in any combination. There will also be a very limited number of hand-finished (by me) sets just like the miniatures in the photos. The perfect labour-free gift for yourself or someone you love. Awwww.
  11. So I used to paint a ton, but that was maybe 10 years ago. I just started getting back into the hobby and I've run into an issue. Reaper used to make metal bases that were recessed. I know they sold them in square, maybe 1" or so. I'm pretty confident that they also sold them in round, but I'm not 100% on that. Now I've been working on a mini project and the base that comes with the figure is abysmal. I was really hoping I could just clip the fig off the existing base and with the help of a little green stuff put it on a new metal base. I really prefer the feel and weight that a metal base would add to the figure. It appears now that Reaper isn't selling those bases anymore. Does anyone know where I could either find some old inventory and pick up a handful of them, or does anyone know of another source that makes a similar product?
  12. I Don't have much to go on with this dragon. its another one that has been sitting half finished on my shelf forever. the bottom has some script on the bottom that looks like FWS and an 8. other than that I don't have any clue where it comes from. but I finally dusted the mini off, freshened up the red (It was becoming a pink dragon) and decided to display it here. hope everyone enjoys!
  13. What else to finish off the month of January but another dragon from my shelf of shame? This is Ollie. Ollie is from Impact miniatures and is supposed to be a mascot for one of the bloodbowl teams. Tom Acquired the license to produce him and I got a copy. I used him to test a number of different red effects and styles while working on another, bigger dragon. The skills may not have panned out like I wanted but Ollie still came out pretty well and deserved to be finished and shown off. Pictures are still with a phone camera but at least I got to my light box! So without further ado:
  14. I bought this fig a long time ago, with a ton of ideas and options for what to do with him. Although I'm definitely on Team Cap, I decided to go with an Iron Man look. I was really happy with how he turned out, especially the sword and faceplate. I'm considering going back and adding a little bit more gold in a few spots, especially in the back area, but for now I'm satisfied. Critiques and advice are always welcome! Thanks in advance!
  15. Used my extra hour from Daylight Savings Time on Sunday to paint this awesome dwarf. I think I painted her dress 3 different times before I got to the yellow and green combo, and am really happy with how it turned out. I had a rough time with her face though. Her mouth and cheeks seem to indicate shouting orders, but I couldn't get her eyes to express that kind of command. I went over it so many times that I felt like I was losing details, so I just stopped at a point that looked "good enough". I still really like her overall, and had a lot of fun painting her. Critiques and advice are always welcome! Thanks in advance!
  16. My Dwarven Barbarian Garn Foehewer. The lighting is terrible so go easy on me.
  17. This was a super fun fig to paint! I'm not really happy with the eyes, and I think I might go back and add a black eye or a bruise at some point. I think that would add some character, as well as cover up the mediocre job. Otherwise, I am really happy with the rest of him. Comments and critiques are welcome as always, thanks in advance!
  18. I got a ton of painting in this weekend, and was most happy with this little dwarven lady. She was a lot of fun to paint, and had lots of cool little details on her. I might go back and do something extra to her ax some day, but for now I'm happy with how she turned out. Comments and critiques are welcome! Thanks in advance!
  19. This is another variant of Reaper's Elf Ranger Flat. In this case a Dark Elf. Since I had no idea what a dark elf was, I had to do some research. Basically, they're... dark. Purples, blacks, reds, etc. I suppose there's other variants. I added the nocked arrow using brass rod, putty flights and head. A small amount of carving was involved. Painted in Reaper acrylics. Qs and Cs welcomed. Glen
  20. Still have a few touch ups to do (yes I based before I was done...I like to live on the edge)
  21. my take on those 2 guys I have to take care more about mold line next time :(
  22. Sae

    Godslayer

My favorite mini shown is the fairy archer which seems to not be in any pledge level or addon?
  23. The weather is basically perfect, so I have been outside painting and writing D&D adventures while enjoying the sunshine! I got this bad dude finished a little bit ago and I am pretty proud of how he turned out. I will probably go back and touch a few things up later on, but right now I would appreciate any critiques and advice. Thanks in advance!

  25. Been playing this silly board game with my siblings called Quartz where you all play dwarven miners who mine for valuable gems. The day marker that comes with the game is just a lame little yellow piece of wood, so I set out to find something better to replace it. Ended up settling on the pack mule with plans to paint it gold. Then for no reason whatsoever it occurred to me that maybe it would be fun for each player to have their own little dwarf character that does absolutely nothing in the game itself. So I added pretty much every Dwarf that Reaper sells to my cart as well. My goal was to paint the pack mule with Vallejo liquid gold and all the dwarves with a bronze-like metal paint. Below is the result, and keep in mind I have never painted before... You may notice that two of these are not dwarves. Well I would counter that by telling you that one of them is an undead dwarf brought back to life by the sheer need to mine fancy gems, while the other is a tavern wench who's legs I MAY have chopped off to make her dwarf height. So for all intents and purposes, she is a dwarf. I used Vallejo Liquid Gold on the mule and MSP Dwarven Gold (mixed with varying amounts of MSP Dragon Black) on the dwarves. Also shaded them with MSP Sepia Wash then sealed them up with Vallejo Satin Varnish. Oh and fun fact, if you want to add heft to a 32mm round base a sacagawea coin fits perfectly inside and adds just the right amount of weight. Also threw on a 32mm washer.
