  1. I expect everyone knows about this already, but in case there's any newbies here, this is kind of a 'just back it already' kickstarter. Midlam has always delivered, and are way up in double digit projects by now. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1662635043/newly-graduated-wizards Story The allure of great power means that many dream of becoming fantastic wizards, but the path to becoming a Wizard is a long and gruelling one, requiring endless hours of study and personal sacrifice. Though many may seek the path of a Wizard, few are chosen, and fewer still achieve The Class of 22016AE, is unusual in that not only have all those who were inducted to become Wizard's Apprentices graduated (setting them on the first true step on the path of Wizadry), but that they have all survived to become full wizards in their own right. Explodio in particularly had some very close calls, and Toadini proved himself surprisingly adept at extracting himself from the bellies of Giant Amphibians. Newly Graduated Wizards Welcome to a collection of 7 28mm scale wizards, for all of your fantasy adventures, from Midlam Miniatures! Welcome to the sequel to our very first Kickstarter, where we see how far our Wizard's Apprentices have come. You can also pick up the original miniatures as well if you missed out the first time around. The Original Class of 22016 You can also pledge for the original set of 7 Wizard's Apprentices, either with or without their graduating counterparts.
  2. Brief word of introduction. I know next to nil about CAV. My current interest in it is solely from a painting perspective. With that in mind, please excuse any blunders I make. So, I'm a painter looking for some cool stuff to paint. I see CAV's mechs. I think "I like mechs, those look cool, I think I'll grab some". Then my eyes flicker upwards towards where it says "10mm scale". I think you can see where this is going. Long story short, how big are these? It looks like they come on 1" hexes, and $4.99-$6.99 is quite a lot to charge for a small mini (in my opinion, of course). Many thanks, all!
  3. Inspired by Doug Sundseth’s red and white legionnaire, I did this mini for a paladin I want to play in an upcoming campaign. This guy offered a lot of fun details, especially the sword and sheath. I used Liquitex basics, with some Agrax Earthshade
  4. Alright, boys and girls! Due to some acquisitions during Christmas, I've come into possession of some older figures. While I could probably slog through all the internets to figure out what they are, I believe it to be far faster to harness your collective smartiness to ID them: Here are the figures in question: What we have here is a 1979 Ral Partha, one unknown, and one 1984 Grenadier. I have absolute faith that the lot of you will be able to identify them. Feel free to ask questions about them if it'll help you. Time starts....*clicks stopwatch*....Now.
  5. Haven’t painted in a few months but here is my 3rd attempt at any mini’s. This is the Yeti from the D&D Icewind Dale collectors series. I started with a grey primer, then white base coat. Washed it with nuln oil then dry brushed a light blue and white over the whole thing. I need to add horn detail still and base detail. Any tips on painting realistic horns would be greatly appreciated as well as any other feedback! Sorry, in advance for poor lighting/picture quality.
  6. I just painted up the Stone Juggernaut from the Tomb of Annihilation board game.
  7. Hey guys back again and with three mini's this time! I have done the mighty Ape-x and the scary eye beast along with my take on the clay golem! I felt he looked like the Incredible Hulk so I did him so as always I had a blast doing these and could not wait to share them with my friends on this site! Thanks so much for your likes and comments it makes my day every time I get a like or comment! As always comments are appreciated and gratefully received!!
  8. Hey guys today I worked on my Eldritch Demon an awesome model. I painted it in flesh tones because the green mini cthulu has been done to death! As always comments are greatly received and wanted! Also a big thankyou to all who look,,like and comment on my paint jobs!
  9. I need help identifying this mini. It's a friend-commission, so I'll have to give it back after painting, but I would like to have another one for myself. The owner doesn't recall when or where he got it. The base is stamped with a backwards "LAL". Possible Lance & Laser? The bottom is engraved "©RMI", or possible "©Roy" or "©Ray" and dated "04", or possible "09". Thanks in advance!
  10. So, I get my first order; it arrived. Everything was there that I had ordered, but I'm fairly confused and unfortunately disappointed. The Vagorg Sorcerer mini I had gotten from the pathfinder section, number 60173, wasn't fully put together. As the head wasn't attached and the hands with his staff weren't attached as well. In fact, they were only attached to one of those connector things that you just cut/pull/tare off. I had to glue those parts on with super glue. Which was the most obnoxious procedure ever, because the hand slots on the piece were so small and were positioned in such a way that if one hand was placed correctly then the other would pop out or shift out of position. It wasn't easy to manage. My other mini, the Dorly halfscout or whatever his name is, didn't have the musket attached, it was attached to the base. Why not inform customers that the pieces they are purchasing don't come as they do in the pictures. (Not the colored pictures, because I'm sure most reaper customers understand that they come unpainted). Like I wouldn't have even purchased these had I known they weren't fully assembled. Despite all the work I had to do though, they still look great. Just saying as feedback, you need to have more information about the products people are purchasing. And I personally don't think I can recommend the metal/tin mini's just because of the extra work that has to go into them. That's going to sound lazy. But I'm a lazy man, so. Conclusion: The plastic ones are better. The metal ones aren't fully assembled. There's a lack of information about them not being fully assembled. Assembling them is a huge pain in the elf. They still look nice though, so I'd have to give it whopping... 6/10. EDIT: NEVERMIND I'M RETARDED, IT CLEARLY SAYS "MAY REQUIRE SOME ASSEMBLY"! LOLOLOL LETS BACK TRACK A BIT! 9/10.
  11. Does anyone know what that gunk is? It's green with little shiny bits in it. It looks organic. This was out of a Bones 2 bag one of my gamer friends opened for the first time this evening. Never seen anything like it before. Creepy.
  12. One of the first minis I dove into with the new Bones II set. I think I had bigger things planned for him, but I took some risks with little planning. I'm not real disappointed with the result.
  13. I have a couple of Kenku from the WOTC line, but would love something a little different from these. Any suggestions (preferably with pix) would be greatly appreciated. Cheers, Alberonn
  14. I have a question on this mini to anyone who has painted her or even looked at her. She's 77036 Devona, Female Wizard in the preview section and part of the bones kickstarter. On her back are these two serrated bits that I can't figure out what they are as far as clothing or armor.
  15. Hey guys, I want to find a fairly cheap product to use as sand on bases. I've heard of using parsley for grass, cinnamon for dirt, what do you think would work for sand? I was thinking sugar maybe? I just want opinions. Have any of you tried using that? I have some aquarium sand but it's too large for what I want. Just the size and shape are what I need. I can paint it once it dries onto the base. Any ideas? Thank you in advance.
  16. I did this one for my friends d&d character! Sorry the pictures aren't great... Guess I need to work on my camera skills :3 I haven't tried my luck with doing different bases yet, maybe next time :)

  21. Mornin', everyone. Got a bit inspired to slap some paint together. The pics are a little bleached out, sorry about that. The model is tiny. I wanted to do it as a black wolf pup (the halloween theme and all), but once I finished drybrushing and Dullcote-ing it, it came out more gray than anything... Hope you like! --LSH
