  1. Hi guys, I haven't been here for the better part of a year, but I'm back with a huge "miniature". Its the Lysander model from Toscano, more of a statue than an actual miniature model. There have already been at least two of those in the forums, and they inspired me to paint my own. Also I paint to use the minis for D&D, and we were finishing a specific campaign where I needed a Tiamat miniature. Lysander has five identical heads, so I modified them to resemble the five evil dragon types from D&D lore. If you want to know more, please visit the WIP thread here. So may I
  2. So I'm DMing a group of D&D 5E where we've played the Tyranny of Dragons storyline for the last two years now. We're around session 80ish now, and my group is near the end, where I want them to encounter Tiamat herself. As I've used miniatures for all encounters so far, I need a Tiamat figue. When I saw the amazing WIP and Show-Off threads from Sirithiliel last year, I knew I had found the "miniature" I needed. Thank you for the inspiration, Siri. The model is called "Lysander" and is produced by Toscano. It's made out of some kind of resin and is pretty fragile (especially the horns).
  3. Darth Sana She stared at her adversary with cool and calm calculation, the Jedi was nervous... she saw the fear in his eyes, yes... GOOOOOOD.... fear would cause him to make mistakes.. she'd cut him down with her force-imbued katana and notch another Jedi scum on her belt... She snarled at him, "Come and die, you fight the Sith Mistress!" ---------------------------------------------------- Manufacturer: White Wolf Miniatures 3 parts: Head, body, Sword. Scale: 70mm high Sculptor: Juan Puerta Casting: Sago This was a labor
  4. Good afternoon everyone! I've finished this tabletop + figure for one of my Players in my Broken Gods D&D game, this is Cairan the Warlock (pronounced as Keer-awn). He's the god of Death and War (tactics), think Valkyrie or the goddess "Morrigan" from Celtic lore. Anyhow, it took probably 4-ish hours do do this figure to the TT+ standard and I added an eagle or hawk familiar from one of the bones familiar packs to his shoulder painted up as a large crow as the character has a large crow as a familiar. Sorry for blurry pics, my phone is not c
  5. Just finished up with "Cadence", the figure is a modification of Dark Sword Miniatures Female Rogue (DSM-7437) where I cut off the dagger in the off-hand and added the lute from Reaper's Adventuring Accessories (02638) to make her into the party bard. WIP Pics here - Anyhow enough chatter, here she is at my Tabletop+ standard: Inspiration pic here - Thanks for looking! C&C are welcomed and appreciated.
  6. This feels like a dumb newbie question but: is there any issues or gotchas with mixing materials when modifying or converting minis and making bases? (Other than a light plastic mini falling over thanks to its big metal weapon I guess.) Obviously I'd need a primer that works on all of them, and it seems like CA glue ought to keep them all together, anything else?
  7. Hello, I made this for my younger brothers birthday present. I run a game with him and his friends. His character isn't an orc so I glued a fabric mask on to hide the orcish face. His character (Zanderluck) also lost his left hand and has a cursed gold handaxe that laughs when violent intent is sensed(also will eventually teleport back to him when he throws it or tries to hide it. I spent about 18 hours on it including the base, handaxe and hook. I wish I spent more time on the eyes and nose, that portion could use some more touch up. Also I could have done the rocks on the mini the
  8. Hey folks! First timer here, though I must admit to lurking through the forums for quite some time before I got up the nerve to post something. I've only recently discovered Bones and I must say that i'm absolutely amazed with it. In a fit of curiosity I bought some green stuff from the local hobby store and went about trying to make my own miniatures. (This post isn't about that) the results were less than photo worthy, but i'm still working on it, so maybe i'll have something to show for my efforts. Anyways, i'm getting distracted, I'm currently running a home brew role-playing game w
  9. So while at ReaperCon this year one of the vendors was selling various sizes of this Collapse Industries Alien Bust. I completely missed out on him and was a bit sad/disappointed about it when SGHawkins showed him to me claiming she purchased the last two of him. When she saw my disappointment, she laughed and tossed one of her two my way. I was super excited, it's outside my genre, but looked like a lot of fun to paint. I was suddenly struck with an idea to give him a bowl haircut and evil goatee. I approached Mori, but she was very busy with classes and art stuff so I figured why not as
  10. Another modded player from my DnD5e group! The only modification is scraping of the cross from his shield and replacing it with the logo from Neverwinter Nights, but it's a modification none the less. I did this by first sculpting a stamp from green stuff and let it cure fully, and then "just" adding green stuff to the shield and stamping it (I put quotation marks around "just" because it took a bunch of tries before I got it straight). I am actually sort of surprised as to how nice the shield came out, especially after painting. Jandar is his name... Looking a bit boring here but....
  11. So I decided to see if I could make an axe throwing pirate and started with Anatole. I went through all of the weapon kits and almost every character wielding axes in the Reaper catalog and finally decided the axes in the Camp Accssories pack were the best size and shape. I salvaged a hand from some elven warrior I had laying around and started chopping and reassembling. I need to get into some of the cracks with some green, but otherwise, I'm pretty happy with the progress so far. I will update when I get it greened and primed.
