  1. Good day everyone, here are pictures of 77105, Kagunk "Voorhees" the Ogre Chieftain sculpted by Tre Manor. This is the Bones version of the model. I added the axe blade on its spiked club, mounted it on a 2 inches square base and painted it with Reaper MSP paint.
  2. Monique de Noir 54mm #01444 NMM is not easy and I’m still working on my technique. I COULD have gone with a blue glaze to give it more of a steel look but I didn’t want to I do love the larget models though, easier to handle. TY for the great customer service on this btw, ReaperMini. My original one arrived with have her face higher up, so she looked funny. Customer Service was more than happy to resend it (I did send pics) after they verified the issue wasn’t on this new one. Sorry for the pic quality, I am not great at taking pics.
  3. Hello everyone, here are pictures of SantOrc Claus 07007, Orc Warrior of the Ragged Wound Tribe. This Dungeon Dwellers model was sculpted by Bobby Jackson.
  4. Hello everyone, this one is for all of you Nosferatus, Vampires and Childrens of the Dark lovers. 02867, Matthias the Twisted sculpted by Bobby Jackson.
  5. Hello everyone, here are pictures of 02811, Dain Deepaxe. This one took me a little longer to finish. There is so many details on this model, it's amazing. This Dark Heaven Legends model was sculpted by Werner Klocke.
  6. So this is me trying to paint non-metallic metal for the first time. The mini is one of the dwarves from thehnolog's castlecraft line. Since it is my first, I'm pretty happy with the result. I hope I'll get better at this over time. All comments and suggestions regarding NMM are welcome. Thanks for looking!
  7. Hi everyone, here's another 77236, Bloodmane Gnoll Warrior. The original version this time. This model was sculpted by Tre Manor. 77236, Bloodmane the Gnoll Warrior and his friend 77234 Boneflail the Gnoll Cleric.
  8. In pursuit of my goal, here is another Gnoll that I finished painting last night. This 77234, Boneflail female Gnoll Cleric was sculpted by Tre Manor. In spite of their devotion to Yeenoghu, few Gnolls have any interest in ritual and there is few clerics or shamans to be found among the savage packs. Gnolls would sometimes summon demons to fight alongside them.
  9. Hi everyone, here's another Gnoll I painted. 77388, Gnoll Warrior sculpted by Bobby Jackson.
  10. Disciplined like a hobgoblin, I'm staying home painting some stuff. Here's a Chainmail Miniatures model 88349, hobgoblin fighter I completed last night. This model was sculpted by Mike McVey and produced by Wizards of the Coast in 2001 for the Drazen's Horde faction. I used Reaper’s MSP acrylics to paint it. Stay safe and disciplined.
  11. Hi everyone, here are pictures of the first model I painted this year. Seems like I'm having a busy January... 02789, Talarand the Blackguard was sculpted by Tim Prow. It's one of the top five favorite model I painted so far. This suit of armor is astounding.
  12. So as the title says this is the 1st mini I've attempted nmm on and I could use some advice on what I'm doing wrong and how to improve, please and thank you in advance.
  13. Hi everyone, here's another Dungeon Dwellers model. 07012, Caerindra Thistlemoor was sculpted by Bobby Jackson. I painted it with Reaper’s MSP acrylics, shaded with Citadel inks, used Vallejo Acrylic Matt Varnish and 3D printed the base. Her left eye is not as sharp as I'd like it to be, she seems to have a black eye, I will need to fix this.
  14. It's far from perfect... but as my first test bed, I like to think he came out decently. Enjoy!
  15. I’m still struggling with nmm but as the community knows, it’s pretty difficult. Anyway I’m generally happy with this figure. If you have tips on nmm that worked for you, please share.
  16. I wasn't sure if I should post this in Show off or WIP, but I figured here and if you would please forgive the in progress parts in the subsequent post. Ron let me paint this lovely sculpt by Gene Van Horne. Actually, I think I might have begged to paint it and considered stealing it from his office if he refused. She'll be in the Greek Odyssey Expansion for Bones V. If by some miracle you have come to this forum and not heard of Bones V, it can be found here. Aaron Lovejoy was awesome and took some high definition photos of her after last Reapercon. I really love this sculpt, can't say that enough. She's got some fantastic detail, lots of good open space to work on blending or freehand, even a scenic base to play with stone effects. While I loved the original Yephima by Patrick Keith, and still use her in my classes, this one really screams warrior to me. I need to paint my bones version when I get it as Athena. I'll have to add a shield somewhere, though. Maybe convert the club to a spear. Decisions decisions. Anyway, feel free to ask questions. I'm happy to explain or help with anything! I'm going to post the WIP pictures I have in another post, so hopefully those will also be useful. Enjoy!
  17. Another Bones 4 elf. Painted her pale and edgy, perfect for the moody lone wolf PC in the party.
  18. A very fun paint job, working on 2 types of NMM for the weapons and armour. The NMM is a bit rough up close, but I'm happy enough with it when views from a distance. The free hand also came out pretty well. This is probably the most complex free hand I've done. Still some basing to do and could probably improve my blendingg but overall super happy with the result.
  19. I love this model. Even with her slightly too-long sword hilt and bendy sword. I straightened it, but it has slowly bent again. This is a figure to represent a female paladin of Sarenrae for our Pathfinder Reign of Winter campaign: a redhead whose favorite color is green. That is why she is on a snow base. I wanted to spend a lot of time on her, and am very happy with the blending on the gray NMM. It took about 3 rounds of painting transitions then glazing over the lines to smooth everything out. I tried a little weathering to the leather scabbards and belt to make them look scratched from adventuring use. This was also the first time I tried giving a female figure makeup: blush, eye shadow, and lipstick. I'm not sure how good that came out, I'll let you all tell me. The sword blade was the least successful part. It just didn't want to cooperate, which is due in part to the softer details on the casting. I hope you like her as much as I do. C&C Welcome.
  20. At this point, I've done enough Arena Rex that I should probably just dedicate a single thread to collecting them. So here we go.
  21. [Warning: lots of images incoming] Next up on my table are the miniatures from Cerebria: The Inside World, a boardgame from Mindclash Games in which the forces of Bliss and Gloom vie for control of an evolving personality. I'm going to try to do these two at a time (one from each team); the first two will be Harmony and Malice. Session 1 - prime + zenithal highlight Harmony Malice Session 2 Harmony With the airbrush, I did base+shading of the wings and base of the body. Colors used: - Twilight Blue - Snow Shadow - Surf Aqua - Violet Light - Sunset Purple - Maggot White Malice For malice, I'm starting with the NMM-bronze-ish body. I base coated with Khaki Shadow, then used Ghoul Skin and Moldy Skin for initial highlighting. Shadows are Woodstain Brown and NMM Gold Shadow (which I am not that fond of for Gold, but seems to work well here). Any other color recommendations? I finished up the session with basing the skirt in Redstone.
  22. I finished one of my favorite figures from the original Bones Kickstarter: Trista, the White Wolf. Patrick Keith is one of my favorite sculptors and he did a great job with her - especially with her realistic proportions and armor. I wasn't digging the original sword, so I swapped it out using the weapon sprue from Bones 3. I bunch of thanks to all of the forum members who gave great encouragement and suggestions in my WIP thread.
  23. Trista is one of my favorite sculpts; I really love that she is in practical (but still super cool) armor. I wasn't that keen on her existing sword, so I swapped it out for one of the swords on the sprues that came with Bones 3 (I think). So far, I have some basic lighting blocked in and have done much of the work on her face and hair.
  24. First real attempt at NMM bronze, and I got carried away with the freehand. Doesn't really match the model but eh, I enjoyed it.
  25. I did the eyes for this one months ago. I'm going to try NMM steel on her armor and weapons (I've mostly done weapons previously). Skin is the olive triad, but i tried the yellow-red-blue top to bottom as tints, in addition to my red brick shadows and golden highlights. Hair is base coated only. Skirt has a dark shadow base, and preliminary deepest shadow layers. It will be a deep red in the end. I'll keep taking it brighter until I am happy with it. I want it to be a bit darker than some of the trim on the armor. Perhaps it will get freehanded. Not sure yet. Also... oh my gosh my paint stays wet for SO LONG. What?! How do I? I can blend the things!?
