  1. More minis prepared for an upcoming Warhammer: Age of Sigmar escalation league. First we have The Wurmspat, the Nurgle warband from Warhammer: Underworlds And painted at the same time, also for my Maggotkin of Nurgle, a random Blightking, a Harbinger of Decay, and a converted Lord of Blights.
  2. I forgot to post these earlier as it's been a crazy last few months, but my first finished miniatures of 2020 were Putrid Blightkings for an upcoming Warhammer escalation league. Some were rebased for AoS and touched up, some were brand new(ish)
  3. Recently arrived from Japan, here's my work on the Space Marine Heroes III: Death Guard set.
  4. A free mini given to me by a friend who didn't like it. The mushrooms are my attempt at making something with greenstuff.
  5. As a fan of Warhammer 40k since it was called Rogue Trader, I have found the new direction of the post-Kirby era GW to be uplifting and with the release of many interesting minis I have begun spending money on them again. Kill Team: Rogue Trader is one such set I have bought recently. The Gellerpox Infected are the "bad guys" of the set. Formerly crewmembers and shipboard vermin that have been granted some of Grandfather Nurgles gifts (you know, the ones that keep on giving!) and have ...evolved. lots more pics beneath, but you have to want to see them...
  6. Forge World's Daemon Prince of Nurgle! I like this one so much better than the GW space marine daemon prince mini. I bought this second hand some time ago, and now that I have looked at the forgeworld site to see what the name of this mini actually is (turns out it is simply "Daemon Prince of Nurgle". For some reason I thought it was a named character.) I see that I am missing a second hose part between the barrel and the weapon arm. Oh well. I won't be bothering with that bit then now that it is painted, after all it is not as if I missed it neither when building nor painting. I painted it as follows: First an airbrushed black undercoat followed by a light grey zenithal. On top of this I sprayed some thin leathery brown and bone-ish colour (don't remember exactly which ones, they are Vallejo model or game Air at any rate. I did this some time ago). Now that I put this one on my painting table, I drybrushed the whole thing fairy heavily with a pale flesh colour, followed by dabbing a lot of different colours here and there when I had some colour left over on my palette. (I often have some unfinished, not really abandoned pieces just standing around my desk that I give a semi-random coat of colour to now and then, with only a partial idea of how I want them to end up, gradually completing them over a fairly long period of time. Right now this was actually the last one of those. I will need to pick some random minis to start off again soon. At some point the semi-random painting reaches critical mass and I complete the mini.) At any rate, critical mass was achieved and I decided to finish it. After making sure that everything that needed colour had some, I gave it a heavy wash of Citadel Druchii Violet Wash, together with Athonian Camoshade and some dabbings of Carroburg Crimson and Coelia Greenshade washes here and there. All applied while the previous wash was still wet. Knocking back the resulting purple by carefully drybrushing with several fleshtones, the gun-barrels and the barrel-barrel were done in Scale 75 Black Metal, followed by heavy rusting and weathering with oranges and light turquoise. The unwashed (greatly unclean!) apron was touched up with some light grey, Teeth and nails in bone-tones and the barrel was finished with some Battlefront Sicily Yellow and some Pale Flesh for that Fallout radiotoxic barrel-feel. I did the base in black flock, using a dark brown bushtuft with black flock glued on to represent the aura of decay surrounding the Prince killing off the vegetation around him. And that 'lil nurgling taking a bath in the barrel is just so cute! Daemon Prince of Nurgle Forge World Warhammer 40.000 / Age of Sigmar Chaos faction Resin 65mm base
  7. Last on today's finished works, a selection of the Gellerpox Infected from the new 40k Kill Team boxed set, "Rogue Trader" The faction leader, Vulgrar Thricecursed. The Nightmare Hulk that makes me think GW is just teasing us about Mordheim at this point: Gnasher-Screamer, who would also make a great Hag. She's got a built-in coven! The Gellerpox Mutants: The wee ones, the Glitchlings:
  8. Urutaa is a Maori word meaning "pestilence" and "plague" and "fever". It is also a sound that evokes "METAL!". So I will call the whole army Urutaa. Because they kill you FILTHY! I bought heavily into the new editon 40k and especially the Death Guard when they were released. At the same time I also bought some Daemons of Nurgle (Starting with the Blightwar set) as I always have been more partial to Nurgle than the other chaos gods and these would be a good fit both for the Death Guard and for my budding Maggotkin army for Age of Sigmar. Or so the self-justification for spending all that money on some rather expensive plastic went. And, as usual, I am getting round to them late. I begin with these Plaguebearers to establish the esthetic I would like to have across the army. How I painted these: I started with a grey undercoat, and further undercoated by spray in an orangy leather brown from below and a sandy yellow brown from above. On top of this I painted assorted details in a lot of different colours, mostly purples and reds with a dash of green here and there. Light grey for the horns, dark brown for the claws. Pink for eyes. The weapons were basecoated in Scalecolour Caribbean Blue (a bright turquoise that is more or less the same as citadel nihilakh oxide) and drybrushed heavily with Vallejo Tinny Tin (a dark bronze like the old Citadel Tin Bitz). When I had had enough of dotting in bits and slopping on slashes of colour here and there I gave each mini including the weapons a heavy wash of Citadel Druuchi Violet Wash followed immediately when still wet with a moderate to heavy wash of just the head and upper body with Citadel Athonian Camoshade Wash (which is a greenish brown or a brownish green). This has the effect of clearing off much of the violet leaving the filthy green, and also mixing with the violet at the edges, creating a nice gradual colour transition effect. I take care to avoid the washes pooling by drawing off most of the pools with a damp brush. Also, the violet interacts with the sandy and orangy brown beneath, creating a rather splendig purple tone. It really is much more easy to do than it looks! When the washes are dry, I go over some of the details such as eyes and teeth, and add some more colour here and there. On the bases, I first glued down some black flock around the feet, and when dry I added a few appropriately dead-looking tufts and my normal flockmix. The effect is to illustrate how they pollute the ground they are walking on. I am pleased with the results, it is a slighly more labourious method than I did for my older plaguebearers sometime in the late 1990s (the balow have updated bases and three additional minis painted in the same style to make the legal unit size of 10:) but is still quite quick and easy, and also looks much better.
  9. Inspired by my acquisition of the new easy-build Blightlord kit and wanting to field some different formations for 40k, I built up a few extra Blightlord Terminators and painted them all up! Here comes Fat Voldemort and the Pants-Poopin' Crew. "Smile, lads!" The whole crew. Fat Voldemort himself. He's just so happy! The Spewer-Crewer: The Reaper Autocannon. The Flail of Corruption: The only guy actually equipped with a Combi-Plasma, which they'll probably all be using: Bone-Guy: Tentacool: Mr. Spikey: The Axeman:
  10. I was told that my early Orctober project did not count, as I had finished it last month. So, I decided on the last minute addition of some Ork-derived Poxwalkers to go with my current Nurgle Chaos Space Marine project: Parts are from the Warhammer Orks and Orc lines, the Nurgle Plaguekings, and the old Mutation sprue. Mostly.
  11. The most recent project has been a return to working on my Nurgle forces for 40k. I'd been finishing up some Plague Zombies I had started before 8th even hit...I'll have more of these guys in the army than the actual Poxwalkers: They were a bit cut out, but you can see the also in progress vehicles in the background. From some fun sales events, I have the bits for so so many Mantic Zombies sitting around, and plan on diversifying the Pox horde to represent most of the 40k forces post-life. Distraction, however, arrived in the form of Marine reinforcement! I love the fact that the new Marine models actually live up to their reputation of gigantic bio-engineered super-soldiers. While it is a bit sad to slowly upgrade my Chaos forces to a more focused Legion, I wound up selling off or trading my older Plague Marines who look silly compared to these new guys. The new models, while having less options and more strict builds, are quite impressive. The Deathshroud basically only have head choices (and a few swap outs for the Champion), but they do stand out: While I plan on converting most of the new character options from the Death Guard codex like the Biologus Putrifier, Foul Bloatspawn, and Ichor-Bearing Gooeycopyrightablename, I had to get the official mini for the Tallyman. Power Abacus!
  12. I’m happy with the progress so far, but every time I take photos I can see missed spots or places that would benefit from more attention. Apologies for double post. Admins, Plz erase one of your choice.

  16. Another batch of rotters, fresh off the assembly line! The forces of the Brothers of Rust get more...rank! (Badum tish) Converted Biologus Putrifiers: Also converted, a set of Foul Blightspawn: Icon Bearers: Blight Launchers:
  17. Let's get Nurgly, Nurgly! Here's the latest reinforcements for the Brotherhood of Rust, devout followers of Grandfather Nurgle. The (un)Holy Accountant, the Tallyman! "This my Power Abacus!" Those dread bodyguards, high in price in both points and dollars, the Deathshroud Terminators! The rustiest of them all, the Blightlord Terminators: The grunts of any Death Guard force, the ever-versatile and never dying Plague Marines!
  18. Praise be to Nurgle! Another Orctober complete, and we're all safe and sound, painting projects finished. Time for a short rest... "Hey, you lot hear that?" "They're coming to get you, Orkra..." "Join us, Orkra...Grandfather loves you, too..." Orks can be Poxwalkers, too, ya know! Even Gork (and maybe Mork) can't help ya now. Flyboy: The Catcher: The Spiker! Grimace! Smiley! Orks+Zombies in O(r)ctober...doubly appropriate for the season!
  19. After some time, I finally wrapped up my two sets of Death Guard from the new Warhammer 40,000 starter set, "Dark Imperium". The entire second set is converted, I'm not a fan of clones in my armies. The rotting masses: The Lord of Contagion, no real work done to him other than the paint: Rotbringer Goth'ma, my count-as Typhus, built from the Lord of Contagion: The Malignant Plaguecaster, another standard build: And an Icon Bearer, converted from the Plaguecaster: The Putrid Blightbringer: A Sorcerer conversion from the Blightbringer. He could also count as Necrosius: The Plague Champion: He's the only non-Poxwalker who I didn't convert for the second copy. I set him aside, as there's another Plague Champion coming in the First Strike starter set. Maybe he'll be useful for one of the new entries when the Death Guard codex comes out.
  20. To add to the number of projects I'm falling behind on, I picked up the new 40k boxed set, "Dark Imperium": I'm really liking what I've seen for the new 40k, and although I haven't gotten a real game in in a long time, I've played Nurgle Chaos Space Marines for a long time. It's really cool to seem Marines the size they're supposed to be. I skipped over assembly photos, and went straight to the drybrushed armor. I think there's some shoulders and skin done in this photo, too: I haven't even primed the Poxwalkers yet. I already have a ton of modern/sci-fi zombie types, and while I do plan on using the new sculpts, I want to convert the second half a bit before I paint them. You can see my previous project, the poor Cave Goblins (of The Hobbit films), literally pushed to the side. I may work on them as a co-project, as they would make great Poxwalkers!
  21. I often get to paint up forces in some pretty interesting color schemes, and here's a nice example. This force was going with an all blue theme- the core color for Tzeentch. The part that made it really shine was the fact that most of the minis were affiliated with other chaos factions. So, if you ever wondered what Khorne or Nurgle characters would look like if the Changer of Ways got to them, here they are. The other thing that made this force special is the fact that many of these chaos warriors are converted from Stormcast eternals. My client did the conversions, but I really think they turned out great and go to show just how easy it is to corrupt Sigmar's elite.
  22. Since they didn't fit in any of my other recent topics, here we have my newest Nurgle Lord, Rotmeister Gleb Festershire (who is totally not Otto Glottkin):
  23. Hi !!! This is my Glottkin for Age of Sigmar :) ... Many pictures here : https://octopusworkshop.wordpress.com/2015/07/21/warhammer-age-of-sigmar-the-glottkin/
