  1. The challenge is 30 minis in 30 days (not necessarily 1 mini each day.) I've been prepping a few figures each week since August, and this year's theme is Science Fiction: Team Terminator: XairBot (Small) 49012 XairBot (Medium) 49013 CyberReavers I (2) 50354 CyberReavers II (2) 50355 CyberReaver 845 Enforcer 847 Team Survivor: HESCO barriers (2) Starship Generator 80053 Tess, Adventuring Heroine 49020 Slade, Cyborg Hero 49018 Nova Corp:Female 80013 Nova Corp:Soldier 80012 Terrain: Gothic Tank Traps/objective markers (2) 3d printed scatter terrain Crates (Large and Small)(2) 77248 Jersey Barriers (2) More Stuff: IMEF: Reggie Van Zandt 80017 Viceroy Enforcers (3) 30029 Starship Generator 80053 #2 Obligatory Fantasy: Cats&Catacombs Dreadmere wight 44022 Benedict Baker dark elf w/bow 1128 Liriel Silverlocks 2458 DGS games female Not shown: Blood Nebula Mercenary 49017, Power Generator 72611 (2)-- still in blister packs. That gets me to 30-ish, depending on whether I count things like the barriers and crates as single pieces or not. Still working on getting the last few pieces washed and primed and identified.
  2. A couple of critters from my Thanksgiving pain binge challenge. I tried to give the hellhound ash grey skin to reflect the fiery nature of the beast. Haven't done much with the base, not sure if I want to put him on a cavalry base for game play or leave him as is for easier storage. I wanted the blood wolf to have a reddish brown coat, befitting his name. His undercoat is brown liner and dark grey. Not sure why he has six legs, other than it obviously marks him as a special encounter of some sort. Again, didn't do much to the base, it's good enough for table play and might get a cav base in the future. Not exciting, but painted!
  3. Another figure I primed and base coated some time ago that I decided to finally finish painting during the Thanksgiving paint binge.I tried to go for a subtle camouflage effect on her cloak by wet blending several different greens on it. She's done for tabletop, like most of what I paint. Please let me know what you think.
  4. This is a figure from (I believe) a C'thulu boardgame. A local book store/game store was having a mini painting event this past Halloween, and this is the figure. The first picture is what I accomplished in 2 hours at the store, while the last 2 are after spending another 30 minutes or so doing some touch ups at home. Speed paint table top figure, i hope you like it.
  5. This little guy is one of a set of three figures; I found him on the melt table at Reapercon and snagged him. I figured I could use him in Frostgrave, or as a familiar to some evil baddie in a RPG. Basic tabletop painting, I hope you like it.
  6. I painted Ingrid over during the paint binge weekend this past Thanksgiving. She was sitting in a drawer primed and base coated for at least a few months, so I pulled her out and finished her up. I need to get more practice doing gems; that's supposed to be a ruby in her hand, not a freshly removed heart. Although I suppose it could be.... Please let me know what you think.
  7. Here's a trio of Egyptian ladies I painted recently. I did the two on the left during my Thanksgiving paint binge. NSFW link to full image
  8. One more from the Thanksgiving paint binge. I wanted to paint her in bright fall colors, so I used Corporeal Shadow and Pumpkin Orange on her clothing.
  9. I thought this was a cool figure and picked it up in one of the DGS kickstarters. She's got some fiddly spots but was generally a joy to paint.
  10. Another figure from the Thanksgiving paint binge. This is a metal Games Workshop LOTR figure I got in a box of random stuff. I don't know the model number or what set he comes from (if any). I sawed off his original base so I could mount him on one that is the same in style as my other LOTR figures. Painted him in an autumnal color scheme, which turned out to be pretty close to the box art, except for my bright Pumpkin Orange cloak.
  11. Couple of quick paint jobs on some Bones guys I did for the Thanksgiving paint binge. Based the with a thin layer of Corporeal Shadow, which is bluish and then put a black ink wash over it. A few slide-on decals and they are ready to rock.
  12. Chibi figure I picked out of the Box of Goodwill last year. It took me a long time to get the color combinations right. I took the "Painting Chibis" class at Reapercon and it all suddenly came together once I got home.
  13. Another old Mage Knight orc figure that I converted a while ago (WIP here: http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/60174-mage-knight-orcs-conversionrepaint/?hl=%2Bmage+%2Bknight+%2Borcs) and finally finished up painting during the paint binge last weekend. Nothing special, just a tabletop paint job; he'll get used along with his buddies in a Song of Blades and Heroes warband, as well as for D&D.
  14. I converted and painted these guys up for Inarah's paint binge this weekend. I tried giving them each a different skin color; I also decided to gore 'em up a bit; they are in order from clean to 'CW, you are a sicko', so you can skip the last few if you want to. Please let me know what you think. Clean ghast---swapped his base for one from Secret Weapon From the looks of those bones, he hasn't eaten in a while. You may want to run... Drooling ghast---swapped his head with a GW zombie head. Bloody handed ghast---I added some clothing to this one Gore hound ghast---I re-positioned his right arm, added some guts, and put a dismembered arm in his left hand Spoilered for the squeamish. >sigh< and I missed few mold lines
  15. One last figure from my Memorial Day paint binge. She gave me fits all weekend, but I like how she eventually came out.
  16. I worked on this figure during the Memorial Day paint binge, but did not finish it until last week. She was part of the Lords of Darkness set from KS2, sculpted by Bob Ridolfi. Wasn't sure about the ribs. They weren't quite pronounced enough to paint as some kind of bone vest, so I painted her pale and anorexic looking. I cut down her base and set her into the recessed round base, with sand.
  17. I pity whoever stole her pants. Another figure from the Memorial Day weekend paint binge. Wasn't deliberately trying to copy the original art, but I had this nice bright peach color on the palette and it worked to give her some color. She's on a Bag-of-crap base from Secret Weapon.
  18. I painted Jaheda as part of my Memorial Day paint binge, but wasn't entirely happy with how she turned out. This afternoon I put two more hours into her, cleaning up details, adding another layer of highlights and re-doing her face. I think she looks better now.
  19. Finally got photos taken from my Memorial Day weekend paint binge challenge. This guy came out much better than expected. I cut a great big chunk off the rock pile he was standing on and put him into one of those depressed bases with some sand.
  20. This is a 10 man squad of Black Legion Chaos Marines made by Games Workshop. I actually started painting them a few years ago, when I still played Warhammer 40k. I haven't played in a couple of editions now, but these guys were begging to get finished up. I chose to do so as part of Inarah's paint binge this weekend. My painting ability has increased since I started these guys; stripping them to completely start over was a consideration, but in the end I just chose to push on and finish them up, trying to fix things along the way. I'm fairly happy with how they turned out; I still have a fair number of these guys left to paint, so I'll have a chance to make the next ones look better. Please let me know what you think. DEATH TO THE FALSE EMPEROR!!!!! Apologies if the pictures aren't that great, I'm experimenting with my wife's new light box.
  21. Kaitlynn surveyed the battlefield; the ogres and beastmen had been decisively defeated with this battle. They had been routed, but it would take many more days and weeks to hunt them all down and eliminate them, so that the regions safety would be ensured. It seemed like it wasn't all that long ago, and indeed it was only a year or two, that she and her friends on started out on the road to fortune and glory. There hadn't been much of either in those early days; giant rats and bandits weren't known for their legendary treasure hoards. Still, she had learned valuable skills in those days; skills that had served to help keep her and her friends alive. Well, most of her friends, anyway. They had suffered the loss of the dwarven warrior Harbrom while fighting orcs in Scorchskull pass. He sent at least a score of the beasts to their foul gods before he fell, though. The memory brought a painful smile to her face; he had always teased her about choosing to learn swordsmanship instead of the axe. 'Nothing better than a fine dwarven axe in yer hands, girl.' he always used to say. She shook her head to clear the memories; time enough for that later when she was relaxing with Talen at his tavern. At least he had lived... This is the second (mid level) stage of Ral Partha's 3 stage fighter; I did the low level version a couple of months ago. She can be seen here: http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/65400-ral-partha-3-stage-female-fighterlow-level/?p=1257120 She was painted for Inarah's end of year paint binge. I have the third (high level) stage as well, I'll paint her up once I figure out where I hid her from myself. I hope you like her.
  22. As part of Inarah's old of the year paint binge, I finished off this guy. He's a dwarf warrior made by Grenadier for their old Fantasy Warriors mass combat game. It was intended to be competition for GW's WHFB, but it never quite took off. It's still available (along with a lot of other cool old Grenadier sculpts) from Mirliton miniatures. Table top paint. Let me know what you think.
  23. Everybody was Kung Fu fighting.... Ping the Panda from Bombshell Miniatures. He's quite small, familiar sized, very cute and was fun to paint.
  24. This is Slug Eat Your Face, a whimsical piece by Tom Meier of Thunderbolt Mountain. I was inspired by the bright colors and patterns of nudibranchs and sea slugs.
  25. This is Holly, Santa's physical therapist and nutritionist. She was hired on last year after the sleigh accident. During the busy season she helps out with the toys and presents. I see the camera has revealed a few spots I need to touch up.
