  1. Howdy, May I introduce Chris P. Bacon? Kev!
  2. One last shot at these WIP things. I've got a themed WIP here: Dave's Thornfall Alliance. I'm giving them a wasteland theme, and right now, I've got: Lord Carver, BMMD, Esq., III Rorsh & Brine Razor Boars (x2) Slaughterhousers (Leader & 5 Grunts) Farrow Brigands (Leader & 9 Grunts) Farrow Brigand Warlord Meat Thresher War Hog Maximus ...so this is going to be a fairly long WIP, which you are joining already in progress. Some of these guys are already based: Carver, Rorsh & Brine, and the Razor Boars 2 Random Farrow (from Iron Kingdoms Unleashed), and the Slaughterhousers I started working on Lord Carver, Bringer of Much Massive Destruction, Esquire, the Third (known as Immortan Carver from here on) first (after finishing my Secret Sophie project). Immortan Carver's Pretty Much Everybody's Basecoat: Cloak/Loincloth - Sample Rusty Red Fur/Flesh - Sample Muddy Brown Shoulder Fur - P3 Cryx Bane Highlight Steel - Vallejo Oily Steel Bronze - GW Tin Bitz (Warplock Bronze) Leather - Reaper 09110 Oiled Leather Tusks - GW Kommando Khaki (Karak Stone) At the point in the above photos, his cloak had been highlighted with Reaper 09111 Burnt Orange, and his metallics had been washed with P3 Armor Wash.
  3. First warlock for my Thornfall Alliance Fury Road-themed army. Meet Immortan Carver: Kind of a speed paint; I probably only spent a total of about four hours on him. Been in a bit of a slump lately, and I'm trying to break out of it. As always, c & c welcome. EDIT: Whoops. Totally forgot to add his dead grass tufts before the photos. BACK TO THE WORKBENCH, CARVER!
  4. Going to try and keep a semi-proper WIP thread for once just to see if I can. I've been posting a WIP picture every Sunday to my Facebook feed to keep me motiviated but I want to pick up the pace a little seeing as the last model took 2 months. This is the smallest size of army for Wrath of Kings. 12 Infantry, 2 leaders and 2 specialists 6 Union workers (the pigs) 1 Union Boss (large guy with a gnome holding a whip on his back) 6 Defender Linesman (humans in steam powered armour) 1 Defender Linesman Guardian (guy with a larger suit and hammer) The Mighty Taur (The geneticaly modified cow, takes up both specialist slots) Only the basic assembley so far. Most fit together fine. The female linesman needed the peg on their sword arm removing. It has an L shaped key and if used as is her arm points directly behind her. Taur needed some filling work along his back where the armour plates met in the middle. For the bases I wanted something suitable to the technology in a fantasy setting but wouldn't be too busy and would be easily repeatable across a lot of bases, this is only a third of the infantry I've got a whole load more characters as well so anything too complex would be a headache later. (I did try to pipeworks bases that came with Relic Knights but they are just a tad too large for the WoK bases) The recess on the bases is fairly deep so I thought just filling it up with putty would be dull. I cut up some straws which will be sections of exposed undeground pipe once the putty goes in around them. One of them I cut a hole in so I'll paint up some liquid leaking out with a puddle on that base. The couple of sections of resin pipe are from the 40K basing kit and fit in the WoK base nicely. The metal cogs will be bent and/or cut a little and partially buried. The rest I've left blank they just get a basic putty treatmant. Keeps everyone varied but in the same theme then. The greenstuff on the large base is just leftovers from when I was filing in Taurs back which I used to mark where he'll stand to ensure there's no interferance with the pipes and where he stands. His staff goes down to level of the pegs on his feet rather than ground level so I want a bit of a dip for it to rest in as well. The plan tonght is to fill in the bases with milliput and drill out a hole in everyones exhaust pipes.
  5. I decided to take a break from the tedium of building the booths for the farmers market & renaissance fair board...so I started working on the live stock pens. This is a standoff piece to/from the large fair board...it is a (10" x 10") little gem built on ceiling tile (as you can see). What you see is 3 days of scale detail work. All the tools (two man saw, axe, shovel, hoe, 3 prong hay fork)...the barrels & wooden box...mushrooms...are all scratchbuilt! The 3 pigs are (Airfix)...the 2 white geese are (Airfix)...the large grey goose is (Mega)...The ground cover is my own mix. (FUTURE NOTE)...The privy will be another standoff piece to/from the large fair board and will be about the same size. SPECIAL NOTE...I want to wish all my fantasy miniature painter friends and RPG players and the staff of this website a safe and festive Memorial Day holiday and to all of you veterans out there...Thank you!
