  1. I submitted this for the February RCL ‘23. She came out of the kickstarter box a little goofy (her left arm is a bit of a mess) although not nearly as bad as Zeus. As usual, Reaper immediately sent me a replacement w/o question, what great people! While he’s going to get chopped up for broken pillar parts, I thought I’d try something different and go for a bronze statue look with her. Just one coat of brown over the olive primer told me it was the right choice. This was just an amazing painting experience - each color (I used Reaper’s Power Palette on a brass statue picture to pick candidate colors) just seemed like a revelation. I can’t believe how much a light brown over drab green can so immediately read as ‘aged bronze’. Comments and criticisms are welcome. I’m omitting the front view, but rest assured I resisted the impulse to give her a shiny nipple to match more famous statuary!
  2. Pillar of Evil Sculpted by Sandra Garrity The innovative Ub3r sent me this little guy. I decided the base was not good enough. SO I filed it down as best I could then, as you can see, pinned it to a 20mm MDF base. After that I used greenstuff and filled in the gaps. I did leave a large enough gap I could sculpt the greenstuff into a suitable platform. Finally, Primed and washed. I work on this little guy in-between drying periods. I figure I can use him as an interesting marker for wargaming and for all sorts of things in fantasy/sci-fi 25mm gaming. :)
  3. This was a quick paint inspired by a few threads. The detail is in the WIP, which starts here. This was totally fun, though I realized I have no bronze paint, so I mixed up an oiled bronze from black, a dark brown and copper.. and a bit of antique gold. It looked OK by my inexpert eye.
  4. Slowly getting through all of this project. Hopefully soon I can get a group shot of everything from the kobold warbands finished. Just a few touchups here and there are needed, but these are essentially done. I definitely am ready to start the arena style battling for this game, even if I am still in preference of the skeleton groups. Well enjoy the sights!
  5. To boost my painted count for the painting Challenge, I decided to to paint something quick, here is the results:
  6. I'm out of painted stuff. It will be a while until I can post something again. I didn't know what exactly to do with that Pillar of Good and came up with this. Just getting my feet wet when it comes to experimenting with some of the basing stuff I have. Not exactly what I had envisioned, but I still find myself staring at it fairly pleased for now. Hope you enjoy. :)
