She's pretty scantily clad, but not backing down from a fight. Another model from KDM.

Since I haven’t had a WIP in a very long time, I thought this mini would be perfect for it. I plan to paint her up for a Christmas gift for a friend and figured to keep me on track I’d do a WIP. I have a few minis in progress she’ll be my main priority after my Darksword Stephanie Law Bard. I prepped her and primed yesterday after the humidity finally dropped. My current projects in various stages on my desk. And just the pinup after some prep work A few places I could have spent more time on but figured I’ll prime and see what stands out. I used army painter matte black primer followed by Tamiya fine white primer. For the bits on her base I left them in black since she will be the focal point no need to use white on them, it’ll help the colors be a bit more muted. And finally my quick mock up for color checking. I usually just print a stock photo and use my paints over it to plan the general scheme. Now to finish up my bard then onto tackling her flesh. Since she’ll have a hint of sheer with her stocking I needed to be sure the color for her skin and the sheer works and won’t lose the effect due to the color choices. So after a substantial break from painting I purchased a new toy….a resin 3D printer (as I don’t have enough unpainted minis). So far I have enjoyed printing some minis even though my favorite will always be pewter. My first choice to paint of the batch I printed to knock off the rust was this pretty lady Nihae. I printed her at 87.5% as Artisan Guild is too large to suit the rest of my collection. She is about the size of a standard reaper mini printed at this scale. I printed some ferns and quickly put her on a base so she is ready to hit the table sometime soon. C&C welcome.

My love for pulp, and particularly pulp aviators and aviatrices, is well-known. So this cheesecake propaganda pinup poster Sophie had to be. I was very glad indeed to see it back in production. Love everything about this sculpt from hair to boots. But you didn't come here to read; you came for the pictures! The witches are done in a pin up style with plenty of personality, and are ready cast their spells and curses on the gaming table. As soon as the campaign ends production and delivery of the miniatures will commence. The goal is to have the miniatures in your hands within a month of the campaign ending. Picture is to show witch miniature scale comparison between two REAPER miniatures. Risks and challenges Little risk other than small mail delivery delays from the postal services. I have a very large collection of Kingdom Death models. I think they're absolutely gorgeous and they are generally in an art style that I adore. Unfortunately, though I've continued buying them, I have not painted a single one. It's been a combination of fear of assembling them (they're notoriously fiddly - this model was in 8 pieces) and a fear of painting them because they're such beautiful figures and they're expensive as well, so there's added pressure tacked onto messing them up. So I decided that it was time to face my fears and get one painted. Since this particular figure is one that I have accidentally purchased 3 times (if you've never bought figures from the Kingdom Death shop before - they are put out in small batches that often sell out within minutes, so to get everything that you want, it's unfortunately very easy to accidentally re-purchase things you've gotten before because you don't have time to check) I figured it wouldn't be the end of the world if I messed her up. I've been working on her for a few days now. First of all, it took me 3 evenings to get her prepped and assembled. The first night, I clipped her from the sprue and worked on cleaning up mold lines (which I didn't do a fantastic job of and is really something that I have got to work on improving) the second night, I had to make a store run to buy plastic cement. This was my first hard plastic figure and I have heard countless times that it's best to use the plastic cement for them rather than superglue, but I didn't have any. Unfortunately, assembly didn't go well and I quit halfway through out of frustration. I thought that the difference between the Testors red label tube plastic cement and the Testors red label square bottle with the applicator was just that one had an applicator and one did not. Turns out the square bottle is liquid and the tube one is gel and the gel one sets up faster and was therefore easier for me to use. So I was able to finish assembly on the third night. Unfortunately, I had melted the plastic in some places and left gaps, so I had to do some repair work with some Bondic. If you're not familiar with Bondic, it is a liquid plastic in a tube that cures with a little UV light. It's great for quick and dirty gap filling. It probably wasn't the best thing for this particular application, if I'm being honest, because all it does is gap fill flat without any sort of texture buildup. I probably should have used some greenstuff, but I hate messing with greenstuff. So there are problem spots on her where there's some weird texture and it kinda just is what it is at this point and I'm ok with that. The following 2 nights were spent "priming" her with Brown Liner (spray primer is not an option for me and brush on primer was not sticking to her) and then I started in on her skin, painted her eyes (they are TINY and also half closed,) her tongue and her hair. The skin still needs some touch up here and there but this is the absolute happiest I have ever been with a skintone I've painted. It was a lot of very, very sloooooow layering working back and forth between shades with paint that was thinned nearly to a glaze consistency and then smoothed over with a glaze of the midtone. Her skin is varying mixes between MSP Chestnut Brown, MSP Golden Shadow, MSP Golden Skin, and working all the way up to MSP Golden Highlight. The pictures are washing out the highlights a bit. Her eyes were done with Warcolours One Coat Beige, Warcolours One Coat Blue, and Warcolours One Coat Black. Her tongue was a basecoat of MSP Rusty Red, then some MSP Blush Pink added in, then some Golden Skin mixed in for the highlight. Her hair was a basecoat of Warcolours Turquoise 3, then shaded with Warcolours Marine 4, then highlighted with Warcolours Turquoise 2, MSP Spectral Glow, and a final touch of MSP Spectral Glow with a bit of MSP Ghost White mixed in.

Cleaned, primed and based. Ready for paint! This one should stay SFW, if I do add a tiny bit of color to the forbidden spots, I'll do it at the end of the project :) I did learn one thing about CMoN's plastic bases, they're not the 'good' model plastic that melts with model cement (as KD's plastic does). So I needed to break out the superglue and will keep fingers crossed she stays put. I may need to pin her if she breaks loose, and I hate pinning high heels! One upside to the failed model cement experiment: I pushed her down pretty hard, so her feet conformed a bit better to the base.

Adult coloring books are a relaxing and meditative way to transition from a difficult day at work, and a great way to connect with your inner child. This particular adult coloring book is of fantasy creatures and races in pin-up poses. A few are in action poses; all are just being their sexy selves.

I painted this one as a super-late Christmas present for one of my best friends. She specializes in Chinese policy, so I thought she'd like the dragon. Here's the front linked due to, um, maybe too much skin? Front View The base is a plastic Arcane from that micro arts kick-starter with CMON. I used deep ocean, fair skin, nightshade purple and leather white for the blue side and then mahogany brown, chestnut gold, palomino gold and buckskin pale for the golds.

I see this morning that Hanger 18 rebooted their kickstarter. I read through it and I think they are definitely on the right track this time and I expect it to be quite successful. A big plus is it looks like a fair number if not all of the sculpts are finished so they shouldn't have a problem hitting their delivery dates unless the whole thing just explodes.If you don't like 54mm there is an option for smaller 32mm versions as well. I'm in the midst of a job change right now so I'm not sure I have the funds to jump in but if you like the Bawidamann art style for pin ups I think you will love these. One of my January painting goals was to branch out and paint a mini from a company that I had yet to paint a mini from. I chose the Kingdom Death hard plastic pinups in part to see how well their assembly goes and in part to see how durable the hard plastic they're using is. Another goal I had was to try something new, which for January was the Scale75 flesh paint set. For anyone interested in the details you can get them in my WIP. Of course, we're now into February and I've pretty much set the same goals for myself. This time the something new was attempting to paint marble. I ended up going with a white marble with blue-grey and ocher veins. I like how it looks from above, but my freehand on the backside didn't turn out as well. She was a fun mini to paint. I'll have to find the time to work through the rest of the box, but first I have a quick and easy mini primed and ready to go.
