I will paint and create a Reptilian Army pure for fun. It will consists of many different kind of Reptiles and Amphibians. Mostly Snakemen, Lizardmen, Frogmen, Dragonmen, Turtlemen, Fishmen, Dinosaurs and Insects. I will happily include any monster I think will fit. A Tarrasque will be the centrepiece at some sort as the Living Lizard God. I do not play any games, so this will be pure for my own and (I hope your) fun to create. EDIT: The above was my original plan, over time and thanks to the comments made by other Forumites, this has developed into a story. This resulted in more Factions I wanted to build and paint, so this Project now also includes Pirates, Conquistadores, Native Warriors based on Inca/Aztec/Maya cultures. EDIT: And now it will also include Undead! *********** Captain Luigiano and his army had been travelling through the jungle for weeks now. The sunlight was blocked by the dense canopy of trees. Some of the men had contracted fever, and those darn mosquitos were a big nuisance! He looked at the golden plaque he had obtained. Gold, with a snakeman made out of gems on it. With this he had convinced the men to follow him. Somewhere in this accursed jungle there was a city made of gold, he was sure of it. They would conquer this city and become rich beyond belief. He looked at his army, they even had a few cannons. Nothing would stop them! Finally they reached a clearance. The men were pleased, at least they could see the sun again. They took a rest and a drink, tended to the sick. Suddenly they heard a loud roar from the other side of the clearing. Birds flew away, trees where falling! Some poison darts flew and two soldiers fell, they died before they hit the ground. A loud roar and an enormous terrifying Lizard appeared. One soldier died out of fear from just looking at it. Then the Reptilian Horde emerged from the Jungle. **************************

Painted this month, finished in time for the New Year. Felt this guy had a lot of character. The pig had some casting issues, but I thought it came out ok.

This is a 3D printed bard I picked up cheap at Reapercon; he was part of a batch of misprints I bought. Quite a few were still useable in my opinion. This guy for instance had the left foot broken off, but the part was present, and it was a clean break, so very easy to glue. He's also supposed to have a feather on his hat; that wasn't present, so I cleaned up the break and painted it as a badge instead. I wasn't sure if he was supposed to be a halfling or a goblin since he's barefoot, has hairy feet, and he's dressed fairly well, but he's also got huge ears and exposed lower canine teeth. I went with halfling, and found out it's supposed to be a goblin when I saw the figure on Etsy. Oh well, maybe he's got a little goblin in his blood from a few generations ago. There IS a reason he's on a pirate ship, after all. Let me know what you think.

Presenting Mun Gun Low, a pirate who has possibly spent too long at sea, from a, possibly defunct, mini range called Enigma Miniatures. I'm pretty pleased with this one, samurai-style armour is harder to paint than I thought, but I like how his tentacles came out. As always any comments or criticisms are warmly received.

So for awhile now I've had this goal, nay, this desire, nay, this primal compulsion to build a boat. It is not enough to have hand drawn maps, or 2D terrain tiles. I need a fully functioning 3D boat! Well, maybe not fully functioning. But I want to build a cool boat! I've been working on a nautical campaign full of swashbuckling, sailing, and sea monsters for a few years now. It's my White Whale project. Always just on the horizon. It'll happen some day, but in the meantime, I have a million small projects to complete and extend the chase. One of which is my desire to build a few different sized ships to enliven any possible naval combat. I actually attempted this about two years ago, just winging it and making some measurements and throwing them at some craft supplies. I wanted a cheap option that wasn't too difficult to repeat that way I wouldn't be discouraged from making multiple ships. So I limited it to cheap crafting materials like foamcore, wooden dials, popsicle sticks, and thumbtacks. And the result wasn't bad. Especially for my first attempt at any kind of terrain building. It actually turned out rather nice! To my surprise. But I got hung up on mast and sail designs and never finished. The wood on the deck had 2x1in grid carved into it for easier D&D use. and the figurehead was designed to be modular. However, overtime the boat collected dust and little scratches. I should have given it a coat of mod podge or sealant of some kind, but never did. And eventually it had an unfortunate run in with an injured owl that we took in for a night. Here's the little devil himself. Anyways, I put this project on the back burner for long enough and feel inspired to dive back in. Especially with a certain Bones ship on the Horizon that I'm still on the fence about getting. I was doing some browsing on the web and recently found this wonderful little blog complete with loose instructions and a plan from a now defunct wargamming site. The blog creator had found the old plan and adapted it to build something using most of the same materials I have already stockpiled. There's a few choices that I like better than my first attempt so I think I'm going to use this as some inspiration as I give this boat thing another go. My hold up now is still those darn masts. The original plan above used wood and required drilling out holes for the masts. The blogger use foam for his ship and found random bits of tubing to house his masts. I could try to find something random like that, but I was hoping to find something simpler for easy repetition. And I would also like to keep the masts loose so they can be removed for easy storage, or to swap out the sails. Any thoughts? Any resources, tips, recommendations are very welcome! I'll post back here with any updates.

My daughters ship needed a steering wheel, so I bought the Drunken pirate and put him on the bridge. Took the Photos before adding the sails. So you have a better view on the decks.

Sea Storm is a resin female pirate bust from Altores Studios in 1/9th scale. The piece is basically the head/body, the hat, pipe, and a loop earring. I replaced the earring with copper wire. Apart from some mold trash where the coat and torso meet, there were no major issues. Primed with my dwindling supply of Floquil Railroad Colors' Gray Primer and painted with Reaper acrylics. Questions and Comments welcomed... ain't no secrets here. Glen

Honestly didnt realize the size of this figure when I'd ordered her. Came in and I was like, oooh she's giantkin or some kind of goliath. Mine also had a hole in the base, but since I was extending the metal plate out to fit on a plastic base anyone, no worries.

Here he is based. Tried messing around with water effects. Cool stuff!

Unfurl the mainsails and weigh anchor! Finally got around to showing off this fantastic pirate captain mini. Though I've collected quite a few pirate minis in preparation for a nautical D&D campaign, this model was the first I have painted outside of the LTP Kit. I felt he was missing something pretty important so I sculpted a hat for him. Pretty happy with the result. You can see more about how I painted him and my other nautical-themed minis in my Dark Tide WIP thread HERE. I am most proud of the jacket and sleeves which I wanted to appear as worn leather. I think I was successful. I look forward to painting up a crew for this captain. Recently discovered a few pirate crews from Warmachine that are calling my name.

Finally finished this one. She was a fun exercise in patience. I had completed the main Sophie, but had neglected the wings for a few months. I didn't put as much detail in the wings as i did the rest of her but I'm still pleased with the outcome. I thought the purple trim on the hat was fun. Added white buttons to help things pop out a bit, which seemed to work well. Always open for any feedback on improvements.

Hello everyone, here are pictures of a cute but deadly little lady goblin. 14178, Skralla the Reven Hero was sculpted by Jason Wiebe. I painted her with Reaper MSP paint. According to the rumours; Skralla grew up near the Shores of the Sea of Stars, far from Monglash. She heard the tales of Razig and his undead crew, and has always wanted to join them. Knowing that Razig would never accept her unless she proved herself a true pirate, she raided Aizen Krahl one night and emerged with one of the dwarves' coveted guns and a trail of bearded corpses behind her. Now that she has the guns, the murder, the pillaging, and the rumming down, she has thrown in her lot with Varaug in hopes of meeting Razig one day and joining him. If only she had stolen ammunition, or knew how to load the wretched thing. Still, it serves her well with a blade tied on, and maybe Razig can teach her shooting.

An older miniature I started years ago, but finished recently. I think it was mostly the weapons (shading) and dirty shirt missing. I would say the paint job is average, but I do like the miniature. I decided to go for a simple, but interesting base, featuring a Nolzur's bottle and Thomarillion barrel.

Yar! Ahoy, lads and lasses, it be that time O' year again! A time for all land lubbers to embrace their inner sea dog and set sail. That's right, it be Talk like a Pirate Day again. So put down yer troubles, and forget all yer squabbles and syntax for a day and lets all raise a cup O' grog or rum in celebration, to all me hearty crew! Arrrr! I'll be post'n a traditional carol for the day shortly.

I got my Mega Bundle for ReaperCon a few days ago. I was floored by the resin sculpt by Jason Weibe (@GwydionGreen), Dead Men Tell No Tales. I knew immediately that I wanted to paint it; I didn't know though that I wanted to paint it immediately, but I guess I did, as I couldn't stop thinking about it. Originally, I was going to do it as a challenge, where-by I could only use the paints included in the Mega Bundle...but I have had a change of heart. I had started doing just this, but the lack of yellow choices (Rattlesnake Leather was it) really limited what I could do with mixing, and this is too nice of a sculpt to give it anything but my best. Anyway, I'm getting ahead of myself. I started by cleaning everything and removing the mold lines. The boat was pretty bad and I was forced to remove some of the runes and make it look like weathering to get the mold lines off. The rest was really good though. Then I primed and started painting. I primed it with Army Painter White. It went on a bit grainy. Maybe my can is getting old. At first, I didn't think it was too bad, but after painting the stone of the throne and the wood of the ship, I got really discouraged. The paint wasn't adhering to the primer right; it was like painting unwashed Bones with diluted paint. It took me an hour just to paint what you see here. Second, the rough texture was really showing up. So, right now it is soaking in the Simple Green. I hope to get that primer off and try again tonight. Andy
