  1. Here another one , just finishing base for those guys now , so couple more to post ;)
  2. Here is the battle mage from Bones 3. He was a lot of fun to paint and I love the pony so much! I want a whole herd of ponies! I painted him up very flamboyantly with bright colors and gave him a pattern on his robe. I also tried doing a worn leather look for his hat. He is so cute! I give you Randalf the Red and his pony Pumpkin.
  3. Howdy, A couple from the bones 3 core set... Kev!
  4. Another pony for Christmas presents. All sorts of extras and pieces parts across the miniature. I loved some of the colors I played with and what started as a support for a lost crossbow became a wrist communicator with the help of a new metallic paint I wanted to try. He just wasn't happy with the idyllic and pastoral world of his birth. He is off hunting monsters in the modern world. C&C welcome. Hope you enjoy
  5. Finally finished this one off. Colors just would not work the way I wanted them to. I am still not entirely satisfied but I am okay with how things came out. There is a lot more detail and fiddly points in this than the original ponies They are still cute though. C&C always welcome
  6. Every year I go to my the local church art fair with my Wife to help her out with the booth. A couple of years ago I brought some minis along to keep from being bored. After that I was asked to please do that again. Apparently people like to watch me paint and watch the minis grow. However, even at a high end art fair people are not too keen on paying even the cost of the metal for a mini (go figure). This year, I bought a bunch of ponies from Impact so I would have something to sell to the kids who I am a sucker for. None of these made it back with me from the fair and 3 others got sold
  7. A friend who loves these is leaving for Denver Tuesday and his going away party is today, so I whipped this up to give him something special. I did not think the colors would work as well as the did. So I still have quite a bit to learn about contrast, learning is good. Hope you enjoy. Taking pictures of this one is tricky because of the hat....
  8. Well after playing with a bunch of soaps and primers, I had a number of the new Impact ponies primed and ready to go. And since they are relatively fun to paint, once again my WoK minis got pushed back by another kickstarter (this is why they are supposed to come in at different months...) Anyway, to review for those who missed it in the kickstarter forum: In an effort to get a smooth coat of paint on these minis that will actually stay put, I have tried a number of detergents to remove the mold release and a number of primers to get one that will actually grab the resin and hang on. s
  9. Picked this up a year or two ago at GenCon. Worked on it over the winter, finally got the base finished up. The figure came in 5 pieces and was a little challenging to assemble. The surface texture of the piece left something to be desired, I'm told this was an issue with early castings and has been fixed. I used about 5 coats of Reaper clear coat to smooth her out.
  10. Only posting this cause I know some folks here have young'uns that'll no doubt enjoy these. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1835446295/pewter-ponies-miniature-ponies-for-table-top-gamin?ref=search
