  1. I am really happy with this guy, so of course his little buddy who lights his barrels on fire got broken in transport. That's always what happens with a model you're pleased with, right? I still have him but I want to pin him so this doesn't happen again. Decided to photograph him now, before I bust out the sharp objects. Strongly considered rusting up his metals, but in the end I felt perhaps his little (broken) buddy loves him enough to keep his armour shiny and pretty.
  2. I finally decided to call Zerkova finished and now she is based and ready to bring victory to the Motherland. I quite enjoyed painting some parts of her and others decided to fight me a bit, but I pushed though and finished her up for August. Now to get to work on my Fall Exchange piece and then back to Khador to finish up my Doom Reavers. For those interested here is the link to the WIP. http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/63585-a-few-khador-privateer-press-minis/?hl=khador C&C welcome of course.
  3. So Rhyas is a lovely little figure that I found while googling painting techniques. I'd liked her when I saw her for sale, but not enough to buy her, as I'd not seen her raw metal... However, my googling brought up a raw and I fell in love. I got my grubby mits on her rather hastily, and Drifter pointed out she was very Artorias-esque... At which point I therefore had no choice whatsoever but to paint her up in such a fashion. So there she be. Rhyas the Abysswalker, or Notorias of the Abyss, haha. I sanded down the spikes on her arm, which took me longer than I would've
  4. Here is my entry for 2015's P3 Grandmasters (the Privateer Press painting competition held each year). Overall, I was rather pleased with how she turned out. I felt that the green added something different that the character wouldn't have if she were painted any other way. She nearly wasn't completed in time for Gencon. I had actually planned ahead quite well, and would have had her finished handily, except that I got sick enough to stop working on her for almost six weeks in a row (just one minor sickness followed by another). In the end, I'm very glad I stuck with her, and I'm
  5. I fished this lady out of the melt bin at ReaperCon, missing her chain whip which I replaced with a dagger. I don't play Cryx (and she's part of a 10-man squad anyway), so she gets painted up as a generic PFRPG NPC. I decided this would be a low-stress model: having fun takes priority over looking good. I put as much time as I wanted into any given section then moved on. She may have a chance to star in the next session of my RotRL game. The base I got from Secret Weapon’s Bag of Crap. I’m not a big fan of their gross alien bases, so it got paired with this low-stress m
  6. Did this guy in 45 minutes for the Thursday afternoon Speed Paint at Gen Con. No Idea who he is. Relatively happy with him. Though others at the table had more intersting paint jobs. My guy feels at least practical. Also did the Darsword one on friday but I can't for the life of me get her to photograph. I'll try again tomorrow. EDIT: Oh Snap! this is my 1000th post! Ok EJ, Be cool, be cool. Say something to the people. Um...It's been a great ride Good, good. Let's keep it moving. I hope to have something good for a title Yeah, this is good stuff. And I hope this will help every
  7. So, I have received cerebro1974 as my exchangee, and his wishes were to obtain some NPCs for his campaign. He's given me some ideas and here's what I'm running with: Templars of the Order of the Wind: "I do not have much detail filled out on the order, other than their standard is three diagonal lines," Well, not much to go on there, so I selected a few minis that could be knights or templars: Sir Malcom: Unforgiven, Crusaders Grunt: Sir Malcom will be the recipient of a spare shield that I have lying around, since his shield is not-quite-right for the design of the Order
  8. Knocked out these fairly quick because I wanted to get them on the table and play with them. And yes, those are Edward's Sissorhands Hope you enjoy
  9. So this guy was a present from Mad Jack, but I had to paint him. I am rather pleased with him and see a few points I need to touch up, but I am calling him done now. Since people usually want larger pictures I have decided to oblige and see if this makes people happier Overhead Front Side 1 Side 2 Back I hope he make some people happy. As frustrating as he was I still enjoyed painting him.
  10. In preparation for the arrival of my Khador All-in-One Army Box, I decided to hit up my FLGS and see if they had anything worth grabbing ahead of time. In particular, I wanted to grab a non-Sorscha warcaster, since I’ve heard that changing up the warcaster can make the same army play very differently. Zerkova was on sale, so I picked her up. I want her to look reasonably nice, so she is getting a real paint job (most of that Army Box will be getting airbrushed with only a few details picked out – so I can actually play). But I also don’t want her to languish in half-finished land
  11. The last of the minis I expect to finish for the January RPChallenge . The Butcher Unleashed unit painted for the start of my husbands Khador army. He wanted me to stay close to the studio scheme, at first I was unhappy as Bright Red is not something I am very good at. But thanks to DSmiles for posting how to paint Khador red I think I managed it. And thank you to NomadZeke for starting the challenge as so far it is helping to keep me painting. Here is a not so great photo of all three together(my apologizes) Now some better individual ones. First the main man himself The Butcher..
  12. This guy has been mostly painted on my desk for about 6 months. I decided to finish him as part of January's Resolutionary Painting Challenge. I am using the monthly challenges to start some new models but also finish up the backlog on my desk. He was the "test dummy" for the rest of my warspears. I am not really happy with the way the warspears are turning out, but I don't like the models enough to start over so I am pushing ahead and getting them "good enough" and moving on. edit - updated tags
  13. Hi, Is not a reaper mini sorry :(... But it's a BIG bear ^^ , and i love Bears. http://www.coolminiornot.com/368430
  14. Here is the first mini I painted for 2015. I assembled and primed him on New Years Day and finished him that weekend. A simple paint job to match my studio theme Convergence army. I love painting Convergence as they are simple and quick to paint, and look great together on the battlefield.
  15. This one I painted a few weeks ago, but was a bit lazy about posting. Happy with the model, not not so much with the picture lighting. It is a little off, but decent enough to post. I was crossing my fingers she would be pretty in pink. Hope you enjoy.
  16. Been gone over a month to complete this very large soul sucking model for part of a challenge I was participating in. Got some smaller Reaper stuff coming up and that I am dearly looking forward to. Finally get the time to look at some of the posted pics over the past month too. Yay!
  17. So, here is my Year of the Giants, Non-Reaper entry. It is Privateer Press' classic Metal Spriggan. Amazingly fun to paint, and mean in-game...
  18. Well, I've got my work cut out for me this time. I recently received my order from 6 Squared Studios so that I could base this big guy. Speaking of which, I started with the base: Then went on to assemble the dock, though I haven't added the twine yet: After which I went to work on his legs: Then finished them: Next, it was on to his arms (which were deceptively simple): And on to his upper body: He'll be done in blues, like the rest of my Privateer warjacks, and I've picked up the Weathered Blues triad for it. There
  19. So I picked up a second faction for Warmahordes...so in addition to my dragons I now have started developing an army of Angry Anime Elves in the form of Retribution of Scyrah. I got the holiday alternate battlegroup plus the Discordia character jack upgrade to start. My concept for this army is very anime in nature. The myrmidons (fancy elf warjacks) will be mostly black, with shimmery bits in purples and greens, and the infantry will be mostly in greys, also with purple and green bits. I plan to make most bladed weapons some kind of crystal or energy thing, and I want the rank and fil
  20. I bought Feora here a long time ago, intending to start painting things for sale on eBay...then i got a job and never did that, and she's been sitting basecoated for years. I have a friend who plays Menoth now, and I had some spare time to paint. This is about two and a half hours worth of painting, plus whatever I spent on the basecoats years ago, so not a lot of craziness...just a bit of freehand and some shaded metallics. Pretty pleased with the white on her given the time. C&C Welcome!
  21. OK...I have some time today so I'll start this up. Won't actually get to start seriously painting again until September or so, but at least this inital post will be taken care of. So I play Warmahordes, specifically Legion of Everblight (title of the thread kind a gives it away, I know). And I have a sizable force, most of which is still bare primer or only partially basecoated. I'd like to field painted armies, since dice roll better for those (that's how it works, right?), and I feel like it's a good idea to get more painted before I start buying more (who am I kidding). So, since this
  22. Here's Gastonne Crosse, one of the Warmachine: Tactics SE minis I picked up during that KS (Elara, Tyro of the Third Chamber being the other one). I'm not particularly happy with his face or hair, and may revisit them at some point. And now, back to your regularly scheduled programming. As always, C & C welcome!
  23. Welcome! I have pictures of the stuff that I painted today. Well, finished painting, at any rate. Some of it has been on my desk for months. Gallant Constance Blaize, Knight of the Prophet Griffon Houseguard Thane (I've already fixed his eyes.) Elara, Tyro of the Third Chamber Issyrah, Sybil of Dawn Index post is updated, and as always, C & C is welcome!
  24. The work of yesterday and today's part of the Paint Binge Challenge, The Butcher Unleashed. He's been on my desk a while, and I wanted to clear off some space. And I've already fixed the inside of his hunting horn. As always, C & C welcome!
