  1. This figure is the Reaper 3718 Ghostbride in metal. I wanted to do some white practice on her, and she is probably my most artsy figure, considering she has a purple base and not some mundane colored ground. I tried to have her be very white, with the white being on top of different base colors, but at the same time have the purple come up from the base. Mostly happy with her. I had planned on having her hair be blond, but the dark hair just popped so nicely against the pale skin. As a bonus, she did see some game time in our last session as the ghost of a young woman kille
  2. Just a quick speed paint to boost my painted numbers. These where painted back in March. The are all pumped up to pound some adventures. I do find it funny the similar stance for being created by 3 different manufacturers. Castle Creations BP-15 Earth Elemental: Bomshell Miniatures 60028 Roknak, Earth Elemental: Frostgrave FGV306 Stone Construct:
  3. I had used a bunch of leftover paint for the Reaper bones version of Aviriel Tellerion (77070), and those colors where more in the "evil spectrum" so I switched her over to being a dark elf. Very happy with how her face turned out, sadly she is looking down so you cannot really see it on the table. It has been a while since I posted, I have had a slump in my desire to paint this spring and I tend to wait until I have a bunch to show off to get the light box out. Avirion here was painted in March.
  4. So this is the bones version of Thain Grimthorn the Dwarf Cleric (77213). I was stuck on painting him for a long time, I had started with a normal skin tone, but it just didn't click for me. Then I had the epiphany that since it was unlikely that someone would pick him as a PC was very low, so I should paint him as an evil dwarf instead. I am much happier with him now. Here I present Thain the evil dwarf:
  5. A while ago (alright a long while ago) a gameshop was going out of business. One of the last things left on the shelves were a series of Artizan Design pulp characters. The price was right and i was planning a Cthulhu game so i purchased a number of their packs. The game fell through and the miniatures sat in the back of my storage cabinet. But in a fit of wanting to paint something modern, I brought them out and gave them a quick paint job in case i developed a need for a crew of 20's era adventurers. I also had a bit of fun with their posing for pictures and got some much nee
  6. So now that we know who won the Game of Thrones and ended up sitting down... Dragoth the Defiler on Throne. Just look at the strength of that undead overlord! Holding his sword casually in the air with his arm outstretched, Darth Vader-style! This mini is from the second Bones kickstarter core set. I based it on a 50mm round lipped and put some black flock around it. Looks good! This one can also do double duty as a Charnel Throne scenery item for my Age of Sigmar Flesh Eater Courts Army. The sword simply would not stay glued to the skull I placed the tip a
  7. The Whispering Tyrant from the second Bones kickstarter. This is an officially licensed Pathfinder miniature. So I guess it is some sort of evil adversary in some adventure or other in that game. For me, this is Loki. I expect you see why. To make the model even more similar to the trickster god, I cut off the central helment-thing and carved the helmet round. Which took me whole tens of seconds! Bones material is really easy to cut and convert. I will miss this aspect with the Bones Black minis. On this mini I have tried out some new colorshift paints from Green Stuff World and a fl
  8. Tick, tock, tick, tock... Werecrocodile. Yup, a werecrocodile. Presumably someone survived getting bitten by a croc and then turned the following full moon, tearing off all their clothes to waddle down to the river and burble at the moon? So now we are just waiting for the WereDuckbilledPlatypus and WereMoose with baited breath. Maybe in Bones 5? Thankfully this mini does not have any clothing, armour, weapons or other items about it's person. This can work as a monstrous beast of any kind. Even a Kaiju in a game of Epic. This came from the third Bones kickstarter
  9. Labella DeMornay, Banshee from the first Bones kickstarter, This is a green translucent, and like all translucents I undercoated it first with Army Painter Anti Shine Matt Varnish, so the following washes would have something to adhere to. This is key to painting translucents. Also, make sure to use transparent paints, like inks and quickshade washes. Opaque paints will invariably ruin the translucent effect. The green tinge of the plastic will affect any transparent colours that are used, and so this must be taken into consideration. For her brown hair, I used Citadel Carroburg Crimson shade
  10. Freja Fangbreaker. On the topic of female, form fitting armour, it turns out that the upper chest area of female dwarves is invulnerable to all kinds of piercing and slashing weapons, so it does not need any armour! Ain't it great? Presumably the prominent devils dumplings act as bumpers and the impressive cleavage does not at all act as a funnel for spears? Seriously though, this is a first Bones KS model, made in the softer early Bonesium. And still it has rather good detail, only slightly shallow on the quilting on the back and on the lower right hand arm armour. Which goes to show tha
  11. To protect any unsuspecting, innocent children from Harmful Subject Matter, the bared mammarial gland look-alike is hidden behind the links: Nearly Naked Model 1 Nearly Naked Model 2 Nearly Naked Model 3 Tyrea Bronzelocks, Barbarian Another win for female body armour protecting just the important bits! Or bit in this case. The right mammary and shoulder being her only vunerable points? Dat a$$ tho! Might this mini by any chance be sculpted by Kev White? Why, yes. Yes it is. Kev certainly has a knack for sc
  12. In compliance with the forum rules, you will have to actively choose to see the naked demonic female form by clicking the links: Fully frontal Demon 1 Fully frontal Demon 2 Fully frontal Demon 3 Virina, Female Demon from the first Bones kickstarter. A classic succubus-style female demon. This was a quick paint job, nothing much to say about it. She is very naked with a nicely sculpted figure. No nipples though. Come on! Even Batman has nipples on his suit! But the sex demon does not get any? 77067 Vir

  14. I needed some more henchmen to fill out my frostgrave parties, especially some archers which I seem to have in very short supply. So i Found these while rooting through my drawer of 'I dont know where this goes and put a pretty basic paint job on them. I needed some minis to fill out the challenge for this month so here they are: I did try a little freehand on the soldier's shield and played with some of the brighter colors for the dwarf twins so they would stand out. In the end, basic minis to liven up the frostgrave maps Thanks for looking!
  15. This piece has been sitting in my mini drawer for quite some time. I'm not sure where it came from or why it showed up but it appeared and desired paint so it got some. I am thinking of making it the grand mentor for the legion of Justice and Caeke to counter the dread influence of Fatimus but we will see. In the mean time, I dont know too much about this mini other than it was produced by Ral Partha in 1991 for TSR Its pretty and it was fun to paint, but my google fu is not strong enough to find the name of the character and the base has no further information. So without furth
  16. From the fourth Bones kickstarter (no, I have not received my shipment yet, not even a shipping notice). This minis was sold online and given as a freebie if you ordered for more than USD 40 from the Reaper site in February this year. When I ordered it I was not aware that this mini also is in the kickstarter. The January freebie owlbear was not a KS mini, so I assumed the Febuary one would be seperate too. So I will be getting another of this mini with the KS shipment. So anyway..."Bones Black". a darker grey, much harder, less unbreakable, and heavier material than the regular "Bonesium
  17. All Hail Hydra! This one I have put off painting since way back when. In it's unpainted form I thought it had soft details and was a bit crude. As soon as I started painting it now, the drybrushing revealed another side to it, so to speak. It turned out much better than I expected, mainly as the faces are easier to read than when unpainted, and the details are not as shallow as I had thought. Again, I use a big brush when painting big bones, this one was mainly painted with a 15mm wide flat and a 5mm flat. It was painted mainly with drybrushing with no
  18. War pugs! Waaaaaar puuuuuugs! The tiniest molossers remember what they were once. They're like a tiny regiment of cute about to headbutt your shins Speaking of butts, the view from behind I will use these in a game. I have no idea when...
  19. I'm generally bad at terrain. So I decided to challenge myself. I painted the obelisk as a dark stone and the octopus on top as a green stone with cabochon eyes. I even went fancy and attempted to put some red glow/liquidity to the runes on the obelisk. I... don't remember painting those eyes like they're glowing... Wait, is that the camera's fault? Did... Um... It... appears my cell phone camera had a hard time focusing on such immense evil... Yes, that must be it. Here's a better pic of the runes. Yes, there we go. As soon as thos
  20. Compared to the Bones Black owlbear, this guy was pretty puny. With fewer feathers. And odd spines. And skinny! Who ever heard of a skinny bear? Then it hit me. This is a juvenile. It's an owlcub! Or is it an owletbear? The spines aren't spines, they're pinfeathers. Fluffy owletbear covered in gray down feathers. With a downy belly and fully feathered mask Based off of pictures of barn owlets because those things look horrifying
  21. As with the other ghosts, I was playing around with quickly airbrushing a ghost effect. I liked the green tone of these Bones 4 minis, but I'm not a big fan of translucent figures. I wanted to paint over them, but keep the ghost vibe. These are much greener in person. I like them, but I think the blue ghosts in the other thread turned out a tad better. These ended up a hair too bright for what I was going for, but it's all in the name of science! I might glaze them down a bit later.
  22. These are from the Ghosts of Midlam Manor Kickstarter. I love these sculpts and I just got an airbrush, so I wanted to try sort of a blue zenithal ghost effect. They are more blue than the camera shows, I'm still getting used to the photo booth and lighting. (Plus I should probably use the real camera instead of my phone.) Overall I'm happy!
  23. Third mini for now. This one has sat on my shelf of shame for a long, long time and has changed from a brown, to grey, to finally a snowy owl. The miniature is absolutely stunning. So much detail and magic to this piece it has overwhelmed me for years. But no more! I found a look I liked and brought it into the light of day. I really love this piece Unfortunately the original rider did not survive the trip down the timestream. I substituted a miniature I had from the first metal castings of the first Toughest Girls in the Galaxy kickstarter. (darned if i can remember the com
  24. Another Mini completed between the strokes of life. (can anyone get the reference, Wish i had the ability) I picked this up a few months ago with the white and red varieties but I wanted to have a dragon i could finish and not worry about whether it came out really well or not. This one came out surprisingly well considering the amount of time I had to work on this. I had fun and it really came out looking well. Still trying to get the magic water right on my dioramas. this one doesn't look bad but it leaked out on me and made a bit of a mess. Live and learn!
  25. Finally got around to taking some pictures of the work I have been doing. Some of this was done early march, some done in the few minutes when i wasn't either sleeping or working. This has been sitting on my "want to do this shelf" (different from my 'tried and failed shelf of shame' Anyway there was a little picture that someone put together of the Jungle titan rocking out on a photoshoped in guitar and the temple dragon as the lead singer. So i took this to the logical conclusion and created the band "Punk Lizards" they use the dragon plants as part of the light show.
