Yet Another Archer; A Kobold; A Tank; and some Fighter Plane Tokens The archer is another one to go with some of the previous bowmen. I hope to get a small painted unit of them by the time this is over. He is an old GW plastic. This guy just sorta got slopped with what ever color was left over after painting some of the other things. He was the use up the paint miniature. I think his legs are haldardier tabard red from last month's batch of halberd guys. Boots are kobold basecoat brown. The Kobold is a bonesium version, white plastic, 77010. I mixed faded purple with some lighter color —fire orange maybe— to get the brown for his basecoat. It did not cover the archer's shoes very well. Later he got drowned in brown liner. The tip of his spear is the same copper that was used to damp brush highlights onto the tank. The tank and the fighter tokens are 1:1200 scale resin models from Spartan Games. The basecoat on the tank is kolbold basecoat brown with a lot of brown liner mixed in because it wanted to dry out too soon. Later some pure brown liner got shoved into the deep places and kinda blended in. Then bronzey highlights. The airplane tokens are responsible for the archer's dingy blue tunic. First paint on them was Black Ink on the edges. Then they got a top coat of Sky Blue, avoiding the tops of the planes (archer got the left overs). Then the then planes got dabbed with metallic either silver or bronze. Then the edges got some silver to pick out the girder work. The final step was to wash them with Blue Liner. I was trying to get some edging and shadows under the planes. I needed to experiment on some of these. I have boat loads of these for the game they are from. [edits: Bold Tags; Only one L in kobold, added some paint colors, airplane token steps... ]

Some guys with Halberds. Five minutes to midnite. Clicking "Post Topic" now...but will get this tagged better on a later edit. (Below...) Black Legionaries with Red Tunics These were speed paints started about 5 hours to go before the August deadline. I keep doing that. But, I guess at least I am getting to explore some fast techniques. The halberd tips have some old Ral Partha bronze on them. The red is a mix of two Reaper reds: 29802 Brilliant Red + _____________. (I can't find the second red...stay tuned.) Then both got a light overwash with some darker colors. The base of the mini got slathered in a sort of Ruddy Brown that was a custom color from RCon 2014, I mixed in a few drops of Jade Green that didn't budge the color much. Then it got a light overwash with some darker colors. The rest of the mini got fake acid-washed with a mix of Black Ink: 9208, Blue Liner: 9066, and Brown Liner: 9064. At varying degrees of density. Those are the darker colors mentioned above.

An Orky (GWorkshop Orc with two weapons) A Muddy Hedge Wizard Reaper 02905: Arthur Wanderhat A Ghost Knigget (GWorkshop Knight of the Realm) A Saffron Skink (GWorkshop Lizardman model) Yet another archer (GWorkshop Bretonnian) A GWorkshop Cold One Raptor Dinosaur Strangely these look better in the photo than in real-life. I am reasonably pleased with the big lizard. Some of the others the camera is being kind. I will try to get more pics Saturday. Link to June Page: Resolutionary Challenge

These are some 1:1200 Scale Steampunk Bombards. Prussian equipment. A human would be less than 2mm tall (1.5 actually) at this scale.

Resolutionary Models for May Some Games Workshop Black Orcs that have been given an experimental speed paint job. In no particular order: Grunka-Lunka, Grunga-Bunga, Garrgha-Lunka, Lunkga-Gronka, and their other brother Clyde. I should ought to have painted a musician. I had one in the pile. There was one armed with a drum in there and that would have worked for the music, bard, instrument bonus challenge thing. Oh well.

These are my February Resolution Challenge figures. I solemnly swear I will find better info on them and get the thread tagged and titled properly on later edits (E2A: nearly there). Last minute, last day, 'what is sitting around on the paint bench that I could finish up?' figures, all of them. So, anyway... ...A mummy, a golem, an archer and a dwarf walk into a bar. 77144: Mummy: He is from Bones II. Slathered in Grey Liner. Wet brushed with a mixture of clay brown leather "Custom Color" and "Ginger Cookie" (which does not look ginger at all) then washed with some much thinned "Brown Liner". 2777: Earth Elemental: This guy (turns out he was not a golem) has been sitting around with only a coat of some brownish spray primer for the longest time. I painted Custom Color mystery brown, Ginger Cookie, and Brown Liner on him until he looked sorta finished. He will need something done to the rest of his base at some point, not sure what. Plastic Archer: This is Miles. A never quite finished GW archer (until the 28th of Feb). 3099: Klaus Copperthumb Dwarf Thief: Klaus is a Reaper figure but he did not turn up using either thief+cloak+dagger OR dwarf+cloak+dagger in the store search. Bit of a disappointment that. I should have tried dwarf+thief+cloak, that would have worked. He was mostly done but needed some touch up where paint had worn away from handling and some extra shading. I don't think I have his cousins Quimby or Lydia.

Three Bowmen and a Bow Lizard These guys have been sitting around primed for years. They got grabbed up on Saturday the 31st for a quick speed paint to qualify for the Resolutionary Painting Challenge. This morning they were all white primer. Here are a pair of pictures: All of these archer models were included in the 5th edition boxed set for Warhammer Fantasy. I probably got these specific models on sale or with an wBay auction. I did not prime them—somebody beat me to it. The little guy is a Skink. The smallest type of lizard in the Lizardmen army. The three identical archers are one of two poses of Bretonnian archers that came with the set. If I had been clever I could have made a list of colors used. Comments and suggestions are in order.
