  1. A general question of interest. During ReaperCon, I was one of the lucky participants of Reaper Wolf's RPG sessions that starred this year's four factions. One thing he mentioned was that the individual adventures (one per faction and one mashup, so five total) would be downloadable and available the Friday following the con. Two and a half weeks later, I finally remind myself to download them. But... where are they? I can't seem to find them on the ReaperCon site, if that's where they are. Since several of us forumites participated, I'm sure I'm not the only one wondering this.
  2. The Shadows of Esteren team is finally getting around to launching the campaign. It is 500 pages and being split into two books. In something of an interesting choice, the "High Farl" pledge covers everything from this KS as well as being a preorder for the next KS. It is limited to 200 backers, with only 66 left as of this writing. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1176616619/shadows-of-esteren-a-medieval-horror-rpg-dearg?ref=hero_thanks
  3. This one is almost over so I figured it had already been posted here, but if it has my search-fu has failed me. Trudvang Chronicles It is well past its funding goal at this point, and I'll probably never play it, but it is still tempting just to help with a translation project and for the art.
  4. This set was actually designed something like *ten* years ago, but SJG didn't have the resources to actually bring it to market. That is, SJG released other GURPS products they gave higher priority, such as GURPS Discworld. They're using KS to see if there's enough market demand to continue production. SJG has had a few self-contained "Powered by GURPS" books, like Discworld, but haven't released a starter set for generic fantasy. Despite the amount of generic fantasy RPG products on the market, SJG has had demand for a GURPS version, and here it is. $50 plus shipping gets you the entire game

  7. I'm making my own gaming table Here is the rough design: 6ft X 4ft. In the car park next door to work I saw and purchased 3x hemlock slabs (8ft by 2 ft, 1 1/2' thick) at $40 CAD each & 1 cracked 1 at $15. Enough wood to build the lid. I had access to a full work shop so we started cutting! Using the track saw, table saw, thickness plainer & joiner we cut 7 boards 7 1/8' wide and just over 6ft long, 2 of them having live edges. Some of the wood had a little rot so we sanded that out and plan to fill with epoxy. The wood being a little wet still I
  8. Make old school hex style terrain maps for your RPG with a new version of Hexographer from Inkwell Ideas: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/inkwellideas/worldographer-hexographer-2-easy-map-world-creator?ref=nav_search Hexographer 1 is available as a free version or paid download (currently $16). The software is a bit clunky from a UX perspective, but I had fun playing around making maps. From the Kickstarter page: It is hard to believe, but Hexographer is 7 years old! My thanks to everyone for your support over the years. Classic Style Map This project will help us t

  10. Hey all! I'm starting a Vampire: The Masquerade game in the next week or so and was wondering if anyone had any tips! I have no experience with the game (just picked it up on Humble Bundle last week) but have run a homebrew DnD 5e for the last 9 months or so, as well as playing in a few 5e games. Looking for suggestions for intriguing, engaging plot settings or general tips. I'm limiting my PCs to Camarilla factions for the time being, might open up to Anarchs later, but probably not Sabbat for a good long while, if ever. Thinking LA circa 1990-2000, but I'm not remotely familiar wi
  11. The characters from the 2002 classic indie film The Gamers are back. The characters have been trapped in our world after slaying their players, and now we get to find out what they've been up to. This will bring us up to the cliff hanger ending of The Gamers 3: Hands of Fate. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/deadgentlemen/the-gamers-episode-1/description On there you will find the shorts from season 0 for Newmoon, Nimble, and Magellan. Rogar's episode is being finished, and there is a short piece that fits at the end of The Gamers 3. As a Kickstarter exclusive, there will be a
  12. As I have been painting mins, I have been more and more drawn to the idea of playing tabletop games with them. I have never actually played a D&D or Pathfinder Campaign with minis and I was just wondering if anyone around here can give me some advice on how to do this. Believe it or not, there are not many YouTube vids on the topic that are useful. The thing I am having the most issue with is the idea of using minis for every single encounter. Most of the games I have played and the few I have DM'd have been action oriented and I can't imagine having a mini for EVERY SINGLE encounte
  13. So my husband wants to run a Horror RPG, which none of us has done before. We kicked around whether to use an existing character creation system such as Champions or Vampire The Masquerade to run a homebrew, but I was thinking it might be better to just get a horror RPG that already exists. This is wholly in the "what if" stage, so we're not certain if we will be playing monsters, fighting monsters, or something in between. I did some random looking around on Amazon, but of course the blurbs are all "hey this is great, buy it" with not a lot of customer reviews. Does anyone have advice
  14. Hi there everyone! Oakydeer here, and I'm a very very new to the world of tabletop RPGS. I'd always heard of the magical game dungeons and dragons but was always intimidated by it and didn't know when or how to start. But a month ago, I decided to take the plunge and gather my friends for our first DnD session, with me as the DM. And... we all became obsessed. So now, here I am, completelly engrossed in the world of tabletop RPGs and eager to start sculpting and painting my own figures! I'm open to any advice from any of you wonderful veterans regarding anything, be it painting and
  15. (Didn't see this one listed) Interesting concept. I really like Rapheal's clear acrylic sheet over the maps at RCon I guess this one would take it a bit further by providing the grid onto the clear sheet. Kind of a clear Tact-tile so to speak. http://kck.st/1Wnlq5x
  16. I'm surprised that I haven't found a thread for this. I know several people here pledged for the Conan board game, so here's an opportunity to get even more use out of those fantastic looking minis. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/modiphius/robert-e-howards-conan-roleplaying-game?ref=users
  17. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/545820095/weird-war-i-savage-worlds Weird War II products have been around for a while - fighting the supernatural forces of the world and the Axis (or Allies, I suppose) at the same time. Now, Shane and PegInc bring us the First Weird War! Things not of this earth crawl through the corpse-choked mud of Flanders. Shapes beyond imagining shamble in the murky chlorine clouds that drift across the Ypres battlefield. Scaled things rise from the dark waters of the Pripet Marshes. Long-dead remains of criminals executed by Romans claw their way toward a
  18. So I figured I'd just start a WIP thread, rather than clutter up the forum with unnecessary extras. I hate disorder (although you wouldn't be able to tell that from looking at my workspace! LOL) This week's been mostly working on Gremlins from Malifaux, I have Somer, Slophaulers and Skeeters almost done. Still waiting on flying stand order to come in for Skeeters. Somer's the Bayou Boss, and I have other Bayou Gremlins in my pile of to-be-done but we'll see how long it takes me to get to them. Betrayal at Calth (BAC) is a GW box set of Space Marines that's both a board
  19. I've only gotten to play Traveller a couple of times, but I've really enjoyed it. It's a pretty simple system that does a lot. I picked up the PDF of the GDW Starter Edition back when they were being given away for free back in 2010, and did a fairly extensive review/read though on my blog. http://towerofthearchmage.blogspot.com/search/label/Traveller And since the current Humble Bundle is for an obscene number of Traveller things, I thought it might be useful. Has anyone else gotten to play it? What are your thoughts on the system?
  20. Keeping with their tradition of Kickstarting 20th anniversary editions of all the original World of Darkness products, Onyx Path has launched the Kickstarter for Changeling: The Dreaming's 20th anniversary edition. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/200664283/deluxe-changeling-the-dreaming-20th-anniversary-ed discuss as needed.

  22. So I'm toying with ideas for a 13th age campaign and I'm curious. Does anybody have any advice, but beyond that does anybody recommend running it as presented or dropping it into other settings? I've seen discussions on other boards of running it in Eberron or Ravenloft, and even Golarion or the Realms. Thoughts?
  23. Righty oh then. I have set myself a new personal goal. So far it is going well. I am currently running a Pathfinder RPG Campaign called Dwarves! Dwarves! This is self made taking heavily from Raging Swan Publications. As part of this I have set myself some goals: 1) Log the games played and session logs on a Wordpress Website for players and anyone else that wants to read. 2) Each week paint the encounters from my pile of Bones miniatures or use miniatures I've already painting from Bones, post gallery pictures to the website and here 3) Make sure everyone has fun!! (This is num
  24. So, I really like the Blackstar Corsairs and am going to end up with quite a few of them (25-50). I intend to use them for several things: 1)Along with the IMEF guys, I plan to use the Corsairs for Tomorrow's War (wargame from Ambush Alley Games) 2)Possibly for a Living Steel rpg campaign, though definitely not using the Phoenix Command based original rules since I value not going insane from reading game mechanics. 3)Any other sci-fi rpg's I find myself needing power armor for (Traveller/Star Frontiers/Thousand Suns/etc) I'm planning to do some conversions on some of them to add some
  25. I had a minor problem this weekend with 2 people wanting to join a game that was already maxed out. Normally this isn't an issue because they just wait for enough people to start another group, but these two interpreted is as an attack against them and refused to believe that there is an upper bound on the number of players at any RPG table. This got me wondering how much the upper limit that GMs accept at a table varies. So what I'd like to know is, Do you think there is a maximum? If so, what is the maximum. Does it change depending on which RPG you are playing? Just to go first,
