  1. So, I posted pictures of a lot of these miniatures a while ago, but I've taken better pictures since, and learned how to adjust the levels in photoshop as well. Also, there are pictures of three miniatures that have not been posted previously. As, I have the pictures uploaded in a gallery at an external site, I'll just link to that. http://trippdinger.yolasite.com/miniatures.php'>My miniatures.
  2. http://www.kickstart...or-rpg-prologue Another Studio2 project, this is the second Shadows of Esteren project, though if you missed the first one that's ok as you can get everything (except the original DM Screen) still from this project. The original LE book is a beautiful product, one of the best quality RPG books I own and I recommend it just on production value alone. As to the contents even if you end up using a different game system the Esteren books are full rich campaign settings and this KS will provide a print Player's Guide, Mini Campaign and a PDF of the DM's guide as well, giving you everything needed to run games in Esteren with a bunch of extras. For international customers shipping is included at higher pledge levels for extra awesome! This KS has about 8 days to go and is fully funded. It needs a mere $6k to unlock the PDF of the DM's guide and that is well within reach. Book 0:Prologue introduces a first journey into the universe of the Shadows of Esteren role-playing game. Within this 80-page full color book, you will find: An introduction to the universe. Discover the leading concepts of the game, as well as a general presentation of the universe. A summary of the game system. All the necessary elements for comprehending Shadows of Esteren’s system and playing your first adventures. Six sample Characters. Illustrated and ready to play Characters: the Varigal Yldiane, the fighter Arven, the fugitive Ean, the scholar Liam, the Ionnthén Mòr, and the Blade knight Urvan. Three adventures. The triptych Omens presents three very different scenarios, which are nevertheless linked by the same recurring theme. They are intended for Players and Leaders of all levels. Poison. An ideal adventure to discover Esteren or even make your first steps into role-playing. The village of Melwan is threatened by a poisoning; will you be able to find out its origin and stop it? Loch Varn. Delve into the edges of nightmare in an elaborate adventure with original narrative concepts, and unveil the secrets of Loch Varn’s vale. Red Fall. One person dead and another missing. Investigate in Dearg and have a first look at the vale in which the first episode of the official campaign will be set.
  3. Wow already about to start our fourth session, its going by so quickly. We would like to congratulate Tiffany Rogers for breaking the 300 point mark and earning herself a tier1 prize, following closely behind is themudhead, Richard Burge, Kristen Lyon, and David Jackson. This next session we will be running a little differently. The deadline will be longer and the points will be much higher, this is a chance for anyone who has not taken the opportunity to participate to catch up drastically. The next piece is to be a diorama, subject matter is open to anything you would like to do. The entire piece must be no smaller than that of a shoebox, but can be as large as you want to make it. There is no cap to the points you can earn during this session, but here are some guidelines. 1. each small miniature will garnish an extra 10 points(smaller than 28mm human size) 2. each medium miniature will garnish 25 points (28 mm human size) 3 each large miniature will garnish 40 points ( 2-4 inches tall) 4 each epic miniature will garnish 70 points ( 5 inches or larger) 5 every feature that adds character to the overall piece will increase the final total by an additional 5%, this can add up quickly if you make something totally epic. The cutoff is November 22 at midnight Pacific Standard Time, good luck everybody and show us what ya got Post submissions here or send them to [email protected] See below for further rules and explanations Competition Rules: The contest will be running continuously from now until the kickstarter launch. There is no fee for entry, all that is required is your name and email address, later on after the kickstarter you will be sent a email asking for your address and any other pertinent information. Prizes will include terrain , bases and other items from the kickstarter campaign. Submissions must be painted by you and fit the current theme You many submit more than one entry, however only one will be judged during any given session. A session last from the time you are given a theme until the time you are awarded your points for the entry at the next issue release. The exact dates will be indicated in each issue in the allocated location at the end of these rules along with the new theme. Limit your submission to 5 or less images, with at least 1 front view, and 1 back view. All submissions should be made through a direct Facebook message or sent to us through email at [email protected] , or be posted in this thread Whomever has the highest scoring miniature for the session will receive a spot in the featured column and as our Facebook cover photo for their mini. Criteria for judging includes: Craftsmanship , how good you mini looks when all is said and done, accounts for 50% of your points for the session. Creativity, we want to see the best you can do, make your pieces interesting, nobody is going to judge you, except for maybe the judges, but that’s our job, the majority of creativity takes place in the base, but modifying minis also works to this advantage, just be sure to include a photo of the unmodified mini when you submit. This accounts for an additional 50% of your points for the session. Theme modifier , if your submission obviously fits the theme you will be awarded an additional 10% to the total points earned for the session, if your submission does not somehow fall into the initial theme, you will only be eligible for half of the total points for the session. Each session you are eligible for 100 points, 110 if you count the theme modifier. At the end of each session your points will be added up and your progress will be shown. Surprise us with something truly spectacular and you may be awarded some bonus points. There are quite a few different tiers for prizes, based on the amount of points you accrue , as points are earned new tiers will unlock showing how many points you need to get to the next tier, and the approximate value of the prize for that tier. Once you have reached a tier you are eligible for a prize, keep painting minis to make the prizes better.
  4. Heya folks, I haven't ever really played rpgs aside from Baldur's Gate on the computer. I currently have the Forgotten Realms campaign setting for 3.0 cause I like the Forgotten realms. What i am trying to gauge is the general overview of the different fantasy systems. What do you play? Why did you choose it over another? Thanks:)
  5. Seems like a separate thread about Swords and Wizardry might be a good thing, being as some of us are going to be getting that bad boy at some point. I've played it. I rather like it. It's essentially open source Original Dungeons and Dragons. Here's hoping I can get the link to my Tumblr to work.... I don't COMPLETELY agree with the diagram; S&W is a considerable cleanup and tightening of the original, horribly written Three Book Boxed Set. It really has more in common with the Red Book and Blue Book Basic D&D editions. But it's a fine piece of work that very much captures the old style. I'd recommend it for anyone interested in the Old School Renaissance.
  6. So, now that I'm getting a Ton of Bones and a nice chunk of Stonehaven Dwarves I really think it's time to expand my group. Currently it's mostly one or two friends and myself that are interested in the painting of miniatures and such, whereas the rest of our group is just about gaming. We try to get together once a week for a full day on Saturday in Aumsville, but it's likely we'll aim for Salem as our main venue moreso, as people are moving here (I already have as have a couple others) and a lot of them go to Chemeketa. Once school starts up they'll also be in Salem more often during the week, so likely throw in some hanging out here and there then too. Really, I'm just looking for anyone to hang out with that is interested in miniatures enough to at least get these bones. Maybe plan something out for when they come so we can all get together and motivate each other to paint them instead of just marvelling at their awesomeness. I'm also willing to sell/trade some miniatures from this kickstarter to people who just plain can't get the money right now or whatever else if they live in Salem or around the area, presuming they're also willing to either game with us or let us game with them or whatever else. I'm not too big of a fan of the FLGS here because they're quite a distance away from where I live in Salem and more recently they've become less and less interested in non-card gamers and their staff likewise has become less and less knowledgeable on non-card subjects. (Recently a friend went there who had just got into miniatures and asked what all he would need to get started painting and the guys there managed to sell him a brush and some paints. That's it.) So yeah, just looking for anyone interested in gaming and/or miniatures around the area of Salem, OR as I know there's tons of you, you just all hide somewhere... And it's apparently not Borderlands... See very few groups there, although there's a decent amount of wargamers, just not a lot for pen and paper gaming usually.
