Hi everyone, here is the wolf model from Ral Partha's TSR D&D 10-512 Monsters Boxed Set produced in 1992. I painted this one a while ago. It's a 25mm scale metal "lead" miniature that was sculpted by Richard Kerr.

So I finished this one last night, and just got him photographed, a Ral Partha Shadowrun Street Samurai, sculpted by Tom Meier, no idea when, late eighties/early nineties: Whenever I pull these things off their bases there is always a little piece of paint that pops off the back that I never quite catch until it's too late, but never quite care enough to fix. Anyhow, enjoy and Happy Thanksgiving!

Good day everyone, here is the second Orc model from Ral Partha's 10-512 Monsters Boxed Set produced in 1992. It's a 25mm tall metal "lead" miniature that was sculpted by Jeff Wilhelm and I painted it with acrylics and ink. I have the Roman crest helmet on this model. I painted the crest in orange, as if it had been made with the red hair of a dwarf. There is also an eye engraved on the front of the helmet, symbol of Gruumsh. Tribute to Tolkien...

I pulled these goblins and hobgoblins from the BoGW a couple months ago to paint as some sort of evil fey. The DM and I eventually decided to paint these guys up as Spriggan that could be used as Redcaps if needed. C&C welcome. WARNING: There are a lot of pics. Good morning, here's my next figure, a Shadowrun gnome shaman, that came out of a set of MetaHuman figures, two gnomes (the female gnome already painted) a hobgoblin and a cyclops. A feisty little gnome shaman or druid, kind of scrawny with a nice long braided head of hair in the back. Fun figure to paint, a small part of the Gnomevember painting extravaganza (my extravaganza of two figures that is). No idea in the world that that thing he is holding, some kind of totem, so I pretty randomly painted it. Kind of a lot of detail for such a small little figure. Not one hundred percent sure who sculpted, but I'm guessing maybe Jim Johnson? Maybe somebody else will know a bit better. Anyhoos, hope you all enjoy!

Hello all, another Shadowrun figure I just finished working on, a Tom Meier piece, Shadowrun Female Street Samurai with Gun. There is also a male version of this gal that I'll be painting one of these days in the near future. With the rest of the Shadowrun figures I've done recently, I've done lots of vivid colors and makeup, but this lady looked a little more military-ish to me, so I kept her with a natural hair color, a white tank top and some military green shorts. I just did a very single colored base that I might afterwards actually mount onto a plastic base, not sure about that. It's kind of weird the glaring errors you don't notice until you get these hugely closeup photos, like the seam on her weapons side. Oh well, when you look at her head one you don't really notice it I guess. This hobby is just a continuous learning process! So anyhow, hope you enjoy, even if you can see tons of imperfections!

So I'm working on a set of four, some Meta-Human Subtypes and got this one done first, a female gnome Rigger or Decker. As always, so hard to decide on colors. When I think gnomes I think of either lots of colors or just nature colors, so went with some pretty strong bright shades I think, and blue hair with that cyberpunk vibe that Shadowrun has. After this one, there's a male gnome, a cyclops and a hobgoblin with a mohawk, so hope to get those going soon as well.o When I took her off the balsa wood base I paint my figures on, a little bit of the paint came off the back of the base I can see now, so I'll eventually touch that up. This little lady is pretty small, a gnome lass in a 25 mm world, so she's not too big at all. If ever I remember I'll take a picture of her against a coin for reference.

Ok! The last weekend of my last show of 2018 is coming up, and the weather is turning cold, so I will have neither script nor sun to keep me from my desk during lunch. Which means I'll be painting! As I did last year, I'll be keeping a series of WiP threads for my lunch session projects. First up on the docket this year are three minis that are *this* close to being done already. The first was my test for plaid for one of my lunch session threads last year. She's a Wizkids barmaid, and she just had a few finishing touches: Also in the batch is another leftover from an old WiP, the Ral Partha Couatl. Mostly I just need to do the base on this one, but some touching up is necessary on the wings as well. And finally is a modification of Reaper's Veronica Blaze. I swapped her weapons for lightsabers and gave her lekku a very long time ago, at least eight years. But this Jedi Twi'lek is ready for some quick and dirty OSL so I can call her done. Here's the checklist of stuff for each.

Good evening everybody, so my Shadowrun quest goes on, and I just finished the last of a quartet of street mages. I think I'm enjoying these because the color schemes are different than I usually use, and I don't feel at all odd about painting different and punky hair colors with the game and the figures conceptualized by in the eighties and nineties. Hi guys, so I'm slowly working my way through some Shadowrun figures, and here is my latest one. This is number three of a set of four Street Mages, one more left to go on the set. Tried to use pretty much just greys, blues and purples, didn't want too much contrast! So anyhoos, not too much metal on this figure, which was kind of nice. Next one hopefully in a few days to complete the set!

So here's the last of the trilogy I was working on, another Shadowrun figure that I finished this morning so that I could start a little vacation tomorrow without any pending figures to distract me. She's a Dennis Mize piece, female gang member with pistol from the great old Shadowrun line As with the other ones I'll eventually photograph her with the set of four figures in total she comes with, so kept her off a base and just painted the base she came with. Otherwise, the four figures with such large bases wouldn't fit in the photo. These bases in themselves are pretty large so she's pretty stable on it, even though she's kind of teetering on the back side of it. So enjoy, more miniature mayhem when I get back!

So I continue painting Shadowrun figures, really enjoying them a lot! Tonight's figure is another mage, a Corporate Mage with staff. I see a few spots I'm not too fond of, but overall not too disappointed. I actually like how her black leather boots turned out! An odd little aspect of the figure is that curly, frizzy hair she has. I've seen a number of Dennis Mize sculpts with that hair style. Not really sure why he did that. It was suggested to me that it's because he used often the same heads over again, but still makes me wonder why he did the frizz in the first place Working on her at the same time as I've been working on another gal with the same flesh tones, so hopefully I'll have another one ready soon!

Good evening everybody! So just finished another Shadowrun figure, a Street Mage with a Moon Staff. I'm not sure if the sculptor is Dennis Mize, I'm almost sure it is, but her face is a little different than a typical Mize piece. I'm going to eventually paint the entire set she came with, a bunch of Street Mages, which is why I didn't actually put her on a base, but rather painted the one she came with. It's pretty large and stable and when the other three are finished I'll want to photograph them all together, and if they're all on bases, they might not fit comfortably in the photo. So more to come! Really enjoying these Shadowrun figures. This figure I like in particular because it kind of could fit just about anywhere, she could be fantasy without any guns or modern weaponry or technology tying her down, or she could still fit in with the "post-modern" Shadowrun vibe. I may end up basing her eventually, because I really do prefer figures be on bases because they wouldn't be touched so much. So, anyhows, hopefully you like her!

One of my old Shadowrun mini's I got back in the 90's. originally slathered on some testors enamel paint and called it a day. Imagine gloss hot red for the pants, a white shirt and tan only for the face with wood brown hair. Now he has been stripped, repainted and I think looks a lot better. Still need to work on some things. lighter tone skin shadows and highlight still seem a bit tricky and was at a lose as to what to do to shade some parts of the wasp hand as well as the feet so improvised. I still have to do the same to the 2 wasp forms that came in the old blister pack but going back and redoing these old minis is great seeing where i was and where i am as a painter. you can still get this guy through Iron Wind Metals, Item # DS-053

Hello all, here are some more Shadowrun figures that I've been working on. Two excellent figures, probably sculpted back in the nineties by Dave Summers, two Shadowrun Dwarven Mercenaries. As usual, so hard to decide upon colors, but I think they worked out reasonably well. The first one is a delicate dwarven lady: and her stalwart male companion: First time I've ever painted modern weaponry, so hoping they turned out okay. With choosing colors, in an effort to make my life a little bit easier, I gave them the same color overcoat, just painted different color detailing on them. I find that a nice change of genre is pretty fun, I'm enjoying painting something a little less fantasy and more sci-fi for a while. I'll hope to have more of these coming soon! Enjoy!

EDIT: Added photo with a finished base Pretty much done, in actual sun light you can see some of the highlights on the skin, so I'm happy with that being it was my first time trying that, just going to have to practice some more, still considering she's missing half her face to the cast error she came out looking a lot better once paint was added. Also really like how the red hair triad worked out. What I learned 1. Skin is tricky but not as intimidating as I thought it was. 2. With work miscasts can end up looking good. 3. Always outline the eyes, though I think I'm going to try a walnut brown next time for fair skin. 4. Practice practice practice C&C always welcome.

So switching a bit of genres, decided to work on some cyberpunk stuff, so started painting some Ral Partha Shadowrun figures. These two are two Street Mages, both sculpted by Tom Meier, I'm guessing back in the eighties or early nineties (forgot to check the bottom for a date stamp). With them both, I still see some mold lines when I look, really need to make sure I get rid of those a bit better. Kind of hard to decide on colors for these. When you look at the art that's running around on line for Shadow run, it's a combination of different shades of black or very bright colors, especially in hair, so hopefully the colors I chose made some sense. Belinda, Knight of the Light [03-085] Very old mini that I got when Ral Partha was still Ral Partha back in 95, kind of wish i kept the catalog from back then, unfortunately was a miscast so the face details were every shallow with no nose or lips as well as her dagger hilt not fully cast, game i had gotten her for fell through and never ended up using or painting her. So now i'm going use Belinda to practice painting. although probably making it hard on my self being the mini is probably 25-20mm rather then 28mm. So far i tried out the Betty Davis eye technique which considering that this mini is so small was hard to hit only the eyes. also tried out the orange hair paint triad. Flesh so far is just rosy flesh C&C always welcome.

Hi all, a figure I just finished yesterday (or so I thought). This is the Ral Partha Town Constable, and I was kind of intrigued by him, as he isn't a very heroic or noble looking figure, he looks a little bit lost, so I contacted Iron Wind and asked them if he was supposed to represent somebody and lo and behold, he is actually based on Tim Conway, and the figure at the time that was sold in his blister, a cowardly paladin, was based off of Don Knots. Who would have known? So I took these pictures yesterday quickly at lunch and posted them out where I usually do on Instagram, and as I looked at them, I noticed I had forgotten to paint something. So today's quiz is what did I forget to paint? To make it easier you can see it on the picture from behind. Hopefully I don't get now 147 other things that I forgot to paint, but we'll see. Anyhoos, enjoy and happy Independence day to all you gringos!

So here's another homage figure I just finished. Ral Partha back in the day did a few figures based on popular figures of the time. The dwarf samurai I did recently was one, and here is another one, Elvis, King of the Bards. So hard to choose colors on him, so ended up kind of with a red, white and blue motif, kind of close to Fourth of July. He has some really small circular eyes, but they turned out surprisingly well. When I was editing the photos and got a good look at them, they were actually pretty decently laced. Anyhow, another great old Partha figure to enjoy!

Hi guys, so here's a figure I just finished, an old Ral Partha Saturday Night Fever Samurai, who I'm going to go out on a limb and say he's based on John Belushi. Pretty straight forward figure to paint, and I wanted to give him more of a five o'clock shadow (thanks Patrick for the advice) but I just gave it to him where it was actually kind of sculpted in. I looked at a few reference pictures of John Belushi in his Samurai suit, but eventually went a slightly different route to give a bit more color to him. I tried to get a little bit of heat from his cigar too, don't know if you can notice a bit of red and yellow by the ash? Anyhows, I hope you guys all enjoy this little blast from the past!
