  1. This was one of my favorite minis from Bones V. I know the monster has existed long before but it reminded me of the boss "Opulence" from World of Warcraft.
  2. To celebrate the ongoing Reaper Miniatures: Bones 6 Kickstarter, I decided to paint nothing but Bones while it runs. Here are the current results (though there's a lot more that got a few colors and were set aside) The Catoblepas: The Hydra: The Greater Basilisk: Cockatrices: The Plague Twins: Patchwork Golems: 'Folk Wizards: Feral Vampire: KOBZAR SOLOVEIKO, NIGHTINGALE BARD Shroomie The Bones 6 Promo Goblin:
  3. Rare for me, a one miniature thread. It seemed to be appropriate for the season to paint him up. I missed Krampusnacht by a bit, oh well.
  4. Spooky season is almost a wrap, so what better project than this year's Ghoulie Bag promo? One of them arrived missing an arm, but Reaper's awesome customer service replaced him. He got a WH Beastman shield to fix it (and a Chaos Warrior mace) The other conversion has a Beastman axe and slightly reposed arms.
  5. And here are some of my other works keeping in the spooky theme. Since he was metal and not Bones, Rotpatch went here. @MattParody was nice enough to include this Radukar the Wolf in our last trade box. Who doesn't love giant Cossack Vikings? a Death Tyrant from Nolzur's Some Spiders from Wargames Atlantic, also the most likely to hit a table soon for RoSD
  6. Round 3 of finished minis from Bones V. These were the cheating ones, picked because they didn't need a lot of different colors. "For the Wizard who prefers a classical flair." "Relax, it's just a statue...hey did those gemstones blink?" . "It's all fun and games until the animatronics stab you 32 times." "Are you ready to rock?" "For the traditional Golem afficianado, the Clay Golem." "Gettin' twiggy with it"
  7. Here's a collection of the second batch of finished minis I have from Bones V. Party like a Barty. Yoho, a Pirate's unlife for me: Draugr...I mean, Rune Wights. They're not sure why they've been typecast as Thieves: "What do your Elven eyes see?" Kobolds, the only thing as dangerous as a Giant Rat in a starter dungeon. Under the Sea.
  8. Slightly delayed to finish, and even more delayed to post to the forums, are my usual themed miniatures from November: Dwarves! Beardy folk seem most appropriate for No-Shave November. Redcaps pretending to be Dwarves from Massive Darkness A Duergar Trapper from Stonehaven Miniatures The Dwarf King from the small release "The Dwarf King's Court, Revisited" by Colin Dixon Miniatures A Warhammer Dwarf Miner where I think I remembered how flames work: This was going to be my PC for Rise of the Runelords, but the game ended before I ever painted him. Grimlok Rockholmes, the World's 2nd Greatest Dwarf Detective. SKU: 50319: OLAV GUNDERSON, DWARF GAMBLER The only beardless member, SKU 77413: Margara, Dwarf Shaman SKU 77572: Dwarf Master of the Hunt. Jason Wiebe always manages to hide fun details: I hadn't realized his jacket was a dragonskin and not just armor plates until I was almost done and wound up painting it to match. Another Pathfinder Iconic that took way too long, SKU 89020 Harsk, Iconic Dwarf Ranger
  9. First minis for "Rangers of Shadow Deep" : Team 1 : Ranger + falcon Team 2 : Ranger + hound Bestiary : 4 zombies, 2 giant rats, 10 giant spiders Tokens : 10 cocoons (more pics on my blog)
  10. Another compilation thread of things from Reaper Miniatures A miniature that actually went OoP with the P-65 line, a Frost Giant acquired from one of the forum Box of Goodwill rounds: Dreadmere Mayor: Foo Dog: Minotaur(ess): "And there's a creepy doll, that always follows you..." Chronoscopers:
  11. Even though the Isle of Dread game I had been running died a premature death this summer, it's never too early to paint minis for its return, right? The group: Jaatu, a Reaper Miniatures piece I've had in progress since release in 2003, apparetnly. It's good to finally wrap up a mini after 13 years... A Tribal Champion (possibly from Chronopia, I got him with a broken weapon from a trade) And a group of Menehune, from Paymaster Games "Going Native" series: I tried to give the Menehune some traditional tattoos, then kind of gave up. I'm definitely getting a Micron marker before I try to do any tattoowork again.
  12. Here's another set intended for Frostgrave: Ghost Archipelago. I tried to do up the Bloodstone Gnomes as Tribals, as one of the Tribal traits is Pygmy and their armor seemed that fantasy MesoAmericana
  13. Finishing up the last few, here's miniatures that didn't belong with the others. Cyclops Spearmaiden from Massive Darkness: Totally a Redcap and not a dwarf as labelled, from Massive Darkness: "Sister Lana, Healer" from Reaper Miniatures: An unknown Gladiatrix, possibly West Wind, acquired during the travels of the Reaper Box of Goodwill:
  14. Latest in my collection of "Finish stuff you just had details left on" come Bufo the Frogman and Torlan the Gatorfolk from Reaper Miniatures. I felt they needed to be painted as a pair as Mr. Wiebe said he designed them as a pair to fill in the request for Dreadmere's more unusual inhabitants.
  15. "All fear Mumlak, Living God-Chief of the Erithereans!" A steal at $24.99 from Reaper for the size this guy came out at:
  16. For my Legions of the Dead full painted army for Saga : Age of Magic : - a lieutenant (unknown origin, but one of the ugliest miniature I ever painted ) - 2 wizards (Ral Partha) - 10 (cross)bowmen (Ral Partha, Reaper, GW conversion)
  17. On my quest for a Legions of the Dead full painted army for Saga : Age of Magic, I just finished : - a Behemoth (Colossal Skeleton from Reaper) - 2 flying creatures (skeleton demon from Ral Partha) - 2 quadrupede creatures (Skeletal War Dog and Handler from Ral Partha with Giant Skeleton Rats from Mantic) Next... Bowmen ?
  18. Every now and then I've seen people start up a WIP thread that's more or less along the lines of "clean the shelf of (blank)". For me, it's of hopes and dreams, of projects started, but not quite realized, finished, or... Even painted. This isn't necessarily going to be one of those more serious minivember, one mini a day, or even a burn towards the finish line to actually "complete" the one a week RPChallenge, uh, challenge. That and while I'd love to do minivember or even 99 minis in 99 days both of those seem a tad too... Intense for me. Especially with how often I get distracted from such with playing computer games, longer days at work, or even starting to have a social life! (Yeah, some of the Infinity gamers in town are starting to slowly coax me into coming out to play and do things, it's kind of nice!) To meet my own goal this year of beating 2018's count, I'd need another "14 points". Coincidentally, that's fairly close to the mark of 18 for October through December, so I figure why not! ...I guess I am going for the RPChallenge bit after all, but I'm going to give a whirl at a full twenty, because I like that number more than 14 or 18! In short, my goal is to try and clear some of the assembled and primed backlog I have, and focus on mainly getting those painted up and FINISHED. Naturally I'm not going to lock out the prospect of adding in a few more minis to the table (I am more than likely going to be building up a tournament HaqqIslam force for February 2020, which will require more units to be acquired, assembled, and painted), but as for some of the things that come to mind for being taken care of... Getting Wyrmgear's mods sculpted - I really would like to see him at least standing up at the end of the year Additional work on my Rainbow Dragon Challenge Ebonwrath - he's taking up a decent amount of space on my desk, plus, hey, DRAGON! Infinity Red Veil, and Beyond Red Veil boxed set - at least the HaqqIslam portion, anyways, although I'd like to at least get the Yu Jing assembled and based too Various CAVs in various states Other, smaller dragons! (Pathfinder Red Dragon, Temple Dragon, and I think I have a Narthrax hiding around somewhere too) minotaurs, gnolls, and some Skaven character/heroes A few minis that have become "paint catchers" for when I mix up too much There's probably more, but still. I'm not going to keep a full on tally of things, but either way, I'm hoping to work on, and finish, at least 14 "points" worth of minis, but 18 "points" would be awesome... Or even more. Apparently, as of this post, there are ten weeks and four days until the end of 2019. What am I mostly aiming for by doing this thread? Well, by having a WIP I'm regularly updating, I'm hoping to not only get more work done close to every day on miniatures (even if it's just twenty minutes), but also get back into the habit of sitting down and hobbying every day. I really do like how relaxed I am when doing it, and it helps me cool and calm down too. That and, oh yeah, I already mentioned the habit thing. Anyways, I did mention something else in the beginning of all of this about something silly, well... Let's put it this way.... ^I was okay with some of them trying to teach others how to "roll over" and "play dead", even if it meant my Switch is a little harder to get to.... I was even okay with some of them guarding one of my spare graphics cards, and the Mission Models iridescent and pearl paints... ^Yup, even didn't really mind them taking over a shelf in my cube shelf (there are more minis hiding in the ice cream pail, they're in there due to having been washed) - Actually, this helped kickstart me being able to paint again, since ALL of those were on my desk before tidying up... But once you try and hold my benching rig hostage.... Or you try to do dark rituals around my turntables... Oh no, this needs to be stopped. if I let them continuing running amok, they'll try and take over the entire living room! (there were additional pics, but it kind of felt like things were dragging on). ^So... Here's how my desk looked last time I tidied it up. It looks a little different, and somewhat messier now, but that's because I have a few projects on the go that I was working on before this post. Not all of the minis in that picture are mine (the Pathfinder Red Dragon belongs to hubby, for example) but still. There's a decent amount of stuff on the table, to say the least. ^So here's where I left off two days ago - I apparently didn't take a picture of yesterday's table, but there were two more Haqq minis done, and I suspect that's also simply because we played Division 2 for like two hours yesterday, then I worked on minis, then I went to bed rather tired... ^And how things are looking so far today. All seven minis from the Operation: Red Veil started set are now assembled (although they'll be an eighth one added in eventually due to having been sent a double by accident - Corvus was quick and prompt when replying on their mispack line... Err, email), and bases for the three miniatures from Beyond Operation: Red Veil are drying, so they'll be assembled tomorrow. The reason why the seventh guy doesn't have anything extra on his base yet is quite simply because I'd assembled him tonight. I'm not quite sure what kind of colours I'll be going with on my Haqq, but I strongly suspect they won't really be all that traditional, or at least studio paint jobs. Totally lost on what colours I'll be going with for the Oathsworn Minotaur as well, but I'll worry about that when I get to that front - today's focus was assembly and basing.
  19. Thanks to a friend's encouragement I finished my Orctober project just in time. It may only be one lonely Shaman but he still counts! Technically also my first Bones V miniature painted since he was one of the monthly preview promos.
  20. I figured it was time to work on some Elves. They're definitely the smallest part of my painted collection. The first batch is all from Reaper Miniatures. These are the metal ones: The Drow who snuck in (from the box of Goodwill, no less) More from Reaper, but this time in Bones: And the others. Mostly Stonehaven
  21. Here's some work done on old Tobias here. :) I had one idea in my head, and started painting and it went a completely different direction. Once I get all the base coats on him I'll have to go back and give him some dimension. Feedback is always welcomed. Thanks for taking a look!
  22. This is the Tiefling Sorcerer for a D&D campaign starting near me. I created a backstory as well if you have interest in reading it. I posted the backstory on the Works in Progress forum too as I was painting him. Anyways, I hope you like him (and the backstory!).
