    I`m back

Hi all, I just jumped in yesterday for leaving a couple of comments and I recognized that I don`t know anybody from the recent active members here and so I guess it is best to introduce myself again. My artist name is Vhaidra, I`m female and I`m 48 years old. I`m painting miniatures since 2004 and I was very active as a miniature painter until 2012. I used to work as a professionally painter for a couple of years and made commissioned work for Dark Sword Miniatures, Ian Newbold and Assassin Miniatures as well as for private customers. I stopped this completely up from 2012 and made a very long break in painting. Since 2017 I started again to paint miniatures, but I decided to change a lot. Nowadays my main concern ist relaxation and fun and so I don`t do commissions at all anymore and apart from that I don`t sell my minis, I do not enter competitions (unless they are really just for fun), and I also don`t upload my paintjobs on coolminiornot or similar sites anymore. I also don`t rate other people`s miniatures. What I wish is an exchange about miniature painting. Community, sharing ideas and enthusiasm about miniature painting. That`s all I once was very active here, but this is long, long ago. For all who still know me: I`m back I checked out the last topics I opened up here and....wow this is really very old stuff lol. So I post here a couple of the last paintjobs I did before my break and of course I will post here too what I will paint in the future. I also have got several wips at the moment. I`m working much at my job and so I just can get slowly back step by step. For the moment I selected a couple of paintjobs: Lonnia, Elquin and Astrid the Chronicler by Reaper Miniatures, Thief Of Hearts by Darksword Miniatures and Lucy by Fatalpersonality. I had problems to understand how to post photos here. I have tried an img link, but it didn`t work. So this is just a little collection for giving you an impression of my work. For to see more angles of the paintjobs and for further information about me, please check out my homepage. http://vhaidra-fantasy-miniaturen.de/miniatures.html
  2. Next up, a thundering of Giants from Reaper Miniatures Bones 4. I went for 3 different skin tones this time.
  3. Up on the place recently were a few of those dungeon-dwelling jerks, Goblins! Rebel Minis finally won me over with their Anniversary Goblin Jester mini: The rest of the Rebel crew: They're also joined by a handful of Goblins from Bones 4:
  4. The forest became full of a terrible din; the trees began to groan, the branches creaked as if a violent storm were coming, and the old witch Baba Yaga came crashing through the undergrowth in her great iron mortar. With a pestle in her right hand she urged the mortar along, while her left hand was busy sweeping away the trail behind her with a broomstick. A host of spirits came in her wake, sending up a terrible howling and screeching until she approached the gates, where they left her and flew silently back into the forest. She rode right up to the gates in the mortar, all the while chanting in a blood- curdling voice: 'Little hut, little hut Turn towards me with your door Turn your back to the forest And your face to me! And the hut immediately stopped spinning, turned to face her and stood still. Edit: Forgot to mention: The 3 Baba Yagas are the Bones 4 Baba Yaga, the Village Attacks character, and from the Steve Jackson Games "Hellboy Villains" boxed set. The second Dancing Hut is one I crafted around 2014 for my "Pathfinder: Reign of Winter" game, which is a Paizo Adventure Path that is based around the Baba Yaga.
  5. This was one of the first add-ons from the Kickstarter that was a must for me. Monster Undead are always fun.
  6. Mostly aimed at Frostgrave, Ghost Archipelago, and Rangers of Shadow Deep, here's some more completed miniatures from Reaper Bones 4. Clever girls. Ape Attack! "But no one ever asks, Howvern?" They're here to harass KoRn: I'm a big fan of the tongue-lashing sculpt. Dreadmere's Giant Leeches, painted up to be Purple Wormlings:

Lidless Eye Hobbies: Bones 4 Terrain

Here's a bunch of quickie terrain from Bones 4.
  8. Lidless Eye

    Lidless Eye: Bones 4 Kobolds

My first few batches from Bones 4 are complete. Let us start by hailing King Torg. All hail King Torg!
  9. Maglok

    77259: Fly Demon

Shop link: 77259: Fly Demon Painted up this Fly 'demon' as a Giant Fly for a upcoming campaign. Fun for such a simple mini. :)
  10. Maglok

    77377: Toad Demon

Finished this miniature today for my Wrath of the Righteous campaign. Part of a LOT of demons. He has more slime on his base then the picture brings out, but he was fun to paint and actually sorta quick due to some airbrush work. 7377: Toad Demon on the Reaper store
  11. While it's still winter, I thought I should finish up my last ReaperMas order: The MONSTROUS SNOWMEN!
  12. Here are some more Lycanthropes or Animal Folk from Reaper I have painted up:

    Lidless Eye Hobbies: Happy Holidays!

Finished with a little time to spare before the end of the year, I did up another group of holiday-themed miniatures, all from Reaper. Happy Holidays! And try not to get dragged directly to hell by the Krampus. The Krampus: Santa Dwarf: A more traditional Kringle:
  14. Last up in my recently finished miniatures are a set of Animal-Folk from Reaper, all part of Bones 3. I believe some are Lyncanthropes and some from the Savage Avatars sets. The pack: The Gorilla King, with hat: And without: The Were-Gorilla: Werebear don't care: A rather standard Werewolf: Wereboar gotta go fast: And a Water-Buffalo-Man. I realized I painted him after a Yak, then remembered that's not the animal he was meant to be.
  15. After sitting on this guy for 14 years (ugh) I finally finished him up when I realized he'd be perfect for my Trollkin Paladin for an upcoming "Midgard" game. Reaper's "Reaper of War"
  16. Hi all I got these guys finished up about 2-3 weeks ago, and am just now getting to posting them. For Damar I tried to make mine look similar to another mini that someone had painted and posted. I changed up some of the smaller details to make mine bit different. For Damiel, I think his leather ended up too dark, for my current group of mini's I'm using a much lighter base color. Should I have made the bottles more reflective? The next group of mini's I've done the Zenithal style priming on them, so I'm hoping that the shading ends up being better on them. I'm done priming my mini's in straight black, there's just so much undershading that I have to do. Also for the inspiration gallery, does it have a different login than the forums? Thanks!
  17. While not really themed, all these minis were left over from my other projects. I think they'll all find a home in "Tesrora, the City That Can't Be Tamed", the fantasy ganglands campaign I'm working on for this year. Ametrine Earthlyte, Dwarf Alchemist. A recent Reaper 25th Anniversary miniature. A rude Dwarf Thug. I started on him to go with RPE's "Dwarf Veterans Warband" as a thug. Converted from the Avatars of War Berserkers, Mantic Dwarf Bear-thing riders, and an old Mordheim club. I realize I couldn't directly post most of the shots of the Orc Matron per forum rules, so linked to my FB shots instead. Lidless Eye Hobbies: Castle Stoneskull

I hadn't even realized when I began on these three that they were all from the "Castle Stoneskull" expansion from Bones III. It was a great set for adding to the random encounters for an RPG. These guys may represent some of the high-level dangers that one could encounter while dungeoneering in Castle Stoneskull! The Behir. I've been wanting one since a buddy pulled one from the first Huge set of D&D prepaints. They even show up in Pathfinder's "Reign of Winter" and D&D 5E's "Storm King's Thunder", if only I had had this guy in time for those campaigns! Brain-in-a-Jar. While I was hoping this would be a human brain, it's still a really cool design. I wonder why the legs are traditional bendy bones instead of the hard plastic that makes up the rest of the mini (minus the squishy brain), though. The mighty Minotaur! Bones has a lot of representations for Minotaurs now, almost as many as Orcs or Goblins. There's the one from pre-Kickstarter, 2 adventurers in Bones II, and the whole set of Minitaurs coming in Bones IV! Plus all the Beastmen if you want to count them, I've seen them used as medium Minotaur PCs enough times. This guy is my favorite, though. Must be the Gladiator armor.
  19. For the most recent works in progress, a gigantic distraction from my poor Death Guard project. In the last week, multiple delayed Kickstarters (and one on-time Nickstarter) arrived...as well as the ReaperCon Swag Bag! Arrivals included: Stonehaven Miniatures Giants Stonehaven Adventurers 2017 Midlam Miniatures "Winter Adventurers" Reapercon Swag Bag Frostgrave: Ghost Archipelago Nickstarter While I am trying to complete the Death Guard, I did ready these groups for prime time: The Giants are nicely sized. While there are some issues with the scaling between Giant "tribes" in comparison to 5E entries, they do tower over adventurers. The Wolf Lord, who I expected to be an Ogre-sized werewolf, is massive!
  20. This is something I have been working on for about a year, thanks to procrastination and being side tracked by other projects, but I finally decided to get it finished up. It was a lot of fun to work on and I'm pleased with the finished result and the little story it tells.
  21. The bestiary entry for Erithereans in "Frostgrave: Ghost Archipelago" convinced me to finally paint a special edition Reaper miniature I had been waiting on for way too long. I can't believe it's been 12 years...and that every elephant miniature Reaper put out is currently Out of Print (I know the Bones Elephant God should be hitting retail soon, and he is very nice.) One day I may find a copy of the P-65 Elephant Man, Pachylox. He's one of the sad few who never came over to Bones. Here's Harapan!
  22. Another batch of deadly forest encounters, the kind you'd find protecting Castle Stoneskull! All miniatures are from the Castle Stoneskull set from Bones III. Vegepygmies: Plant Dragon: Death Lilies or something like that!

    Lidless Eye Hobbies: Eastern Legends

Another set complete! This time it's a group of Eastern Fantasy themed adventurers and encounters. Almost all the minis are from the third Bones Kickstarter, with the exception of the Tengu/Kenku Monk armed with kamas. She's from Stonehaven. The group: The Oni: The Kitsune. The male is one of my favorites...I hadn't even noticed the sake glass in his hand until I started painting! That and his swagger make for a very characterful sculpt. Just some Human Monks: The Kenku/Tengu: This is the non-Reaper one, a Monk from Stonehaven Miniatures: Flock!
