  1. Njorn Hirdmen by Red Box Games Sculpted by Tre Manor Standard Table Top for these guys. I was a little in a hurry but it turned out well enough. I sculpted the bases and used some brick corners from some bricks Ub3r gave me. Again with these guys I put some Nordic runes on them. I hope you guys like them.
  2. Ejrvindr the Far Seeing by Red-Box-Games Sculpted by Tre Manor This guy was particularly fun to paint as I thoroughly enjoy doing leather. His clock was a labor of love. It did turn out to be "leather" but the browns look really nice. I also tried doing a bottle with liquid in it. Didn't turn out how I wanted but it's good enough for tabletop standard. In need find some tutorials on how to paint containers with liquid in them. I had sculpted the base myself - which you will find I do that with everything. The base is the OSL that is projecting up and on to him. Additionally, you'll
  3. Wise Frodulf by Red-Box-Games Sculpted by Tre Manor Here is my rendition of Frodulf. He goes a long with my warband color scheme. This OSL (Object Source lighting) is one of three real steps into the technique. I am happy with the way it turned out. I used an small handheld LED to check lighting for the sword. I kind of broke the rule about the rest of the model being darker for OSL but I wanted him to stand out on the battle field. My free hand work seems to be getting better too with the triangle pattern on him as well. And finally, I sculpted the bricks myself out of greenstuff
  4. This is Dagny by Red Box Games. I love her! She is a huge pain to paint though because she has a lot of tiny bits that are really hard to tell what they are! I use her as my PC. She carries a fetish stick adorned with raven and owl feathers. Her robe is trimmed with a wolf pelt. The mini has a little demon perched on her shoulder peeking out of her hair. My PC has a bush baby familiar so I just painted it in shades of grey to stand in for her familiar.
  5. So these 2 are being done concurrently with the 2 archers for my Frostgrave warband, so there will likely be overlap with the colors used in the 2 WiPs.... So I started doing the flesh on the next parts of my Frostgrave warband, Red Gunhildr the Barbarian, & Little Svein Swiftfoot the Thief.... GW Scorched Brown, Reaper Linen White & SC75 Tesla Blue for the eyes..... Arabic Shadow, Arabic Shadow and Basic Flesh 50%, Basic Flesh, Basic Flesh and Golden Skin 50%, Golden Skin, Golden Skin and Light Skin 50%, light Skin, and a glaze of Golden Skin and Basic flesh 3/2... Gunhildr'
  6. So I started doing the flesh on the next parts of my Frostgrave warband, Hawkeyed Arvid & Pretty Laerke... GW Scorched Brown, Reaper Linen White & SC75 Tesla Blue for the eyes..... Arabic Shadow, Arabic Shadow and Basic Flesh 50%, Basic Flesh, Basic Flesh and Golden Skin 50%, Golden Skin, Golden Skin and Light Skin 50%, light Skin, and a glaze of Golden Skin and Basic flesh 3/2.. Arvid's hair with MSP Auburn Shadow, Laerke's with VMC Black Brown... Arvid: Laerke: Thanks for looking! George
  7. So I am finally starting to work on my Warband, using the minis fro Tre Manor's Warriors of the Frozen North... Never having played Frostgrave before, I am starting out with the Wizard and his apprentice, as those 2 I know I will need.... Wizard is Ejrvindr the Far Seeing: Apprentice is Dagrun Arnholdt's dottir: Not sure what the rest of the band will be.... 2 archers, a thief, a Barbarian, and 4 thugs is my thought right now.... Suggestions???? Thanks for looking! George
  8. He stood resplendent in his looted war-gear, taken from a site in the high places of the Cimmerian lands, where his shaman had led him. There, buried around a statue of an ancient barbarian hero, had been found the artifacts from a long ago era, before a great cataclysm his shaman had told him. More Vanir warriors had come to his fight under his banner since, and his shaman assured him there were more such items to be found - and so he led a raiding party once more to Cimmeria, and cresting a small rise he found himself looking into a small vale. Therein stood another statue, but this time als
  9. Mighty Grum from Red Box Games. A really cool mini I finished while working through my huge backlog of RBG minis. He's quite small so I didn't bother (or rather I can't do it) with the eyes. I'm happy with how the skin and his fur coat (although it seems abit dull in the photo) worked out.
  10. Dagmar of the Shield of Red Box Games. A miniature I painted a few months ago but forgot to post.
  11. This is Red Olga from one of the Red Box Games Kickstarters, I don't think she is still in production. I tried too many different new color recipes here and it didn't come out as well as I hoped, but its still an awesome sculpt so wanted to share.
  12. I've been hitting a slump in my painting that's been keeping me from these forums for quite a while. I'm trying to regain my rythm and getting some pieces done. This is one of them: This is Viggoth the Remorseless, from Red Box Games. He's abit smaller than I would like to but still a great sculpt. Somehow I messed up the varnishing and I just can't for the life of me get some of the glossy spots matt, no matter how much I spray them will dull coat (I've only sprayed him once or twice, I don't want to ruin the whole figure).
  13. Fritjof the Fierce, Halfblood from Red Box Games.
  14. Work In Progress for RBG: CleeseWych the Cuss by Tre Manor This is my miniature for my D&D group. This is my first time snow basing. I think it turned out well but I will be getting better with. :) This would have been done before the long Christmas break but... I got lazy. :P C&C Welcome. Thanks! I was particularly proud of the free hand I did on the shield. I use a nail doter for the circles. Additionally, I enjoyed adding the snow to the clothing. :)
  15. CleeseWych the Cuss by Tre Manor -Human After a swift polish of this figure I Greenstuffed it on the base. I'm very pleased with the way it came out. Next, I have been doing this for a few miniatures now,Combination Priming, and it has helped a lot. In addition to this, I took these 4 photo's with my lamp above to check the lighting and highlights.
  16. My take on the Red Box Games zombies. They're painted with a generous amount of quickshade, gore and trying to follow this tutorial (but not with the patience or skill required to get the same result:). The first eight was painted some time ago. The rest 10 I recently finished.
  17. My version of Llwellyn Softstrider from Red Box Games. A great sculpt as all other minis in the RBG range. I rushed some parts (the varnishing among them) as I wanted to get it ready for the next weekend but still he turned out nicely.
  18. My atempt to paint the Wraith Knights from Red Box Games. I've had these for quite some time but always hesitated to put paint on them (or some other mini was infront of them in line). Kind of a quickish paintjob but I'm happy where they're at. I could spend some more time on each but I would have diminishing returns. So they're finished and I'm moving on to the next batch! I notice that some of the figures collected some dirt sometime efter varnishing. Perhaps I'll go back and fix them sometime, but for now I'm leaving them as they are.
  19. Continued from here Robert of Carlistle Wall roughtly basecoated. Buidling highlights on the armor. Some shading on the top tabbard. Highlight on the coat. Ready for the floor polish dip! And here he is in the Show Off forum
  20. This is Robert of Carlistle Wall from Red Box Games and I'm quite happy with how he turned out. He's one of the RBG miniatures that I've been intimidated into not painting. But since he's apart of my 2015 goals I forced myself to begin. He's one of many Aenglish (the fraction) minis I'm set to paint and I hope to reuse the paint scheme to create some cohesion between the miniatures. I'd like to thank Marsya for tips on the color scheme.
  21. Work In Progress for RBG: Edele of Aelfheim By Tre Manor This miniature was a commission for my D&D group. I added the flowers as an afterthought but am thoroughly pleased how they came out. I'm getting better with static grass but not where I want to be. Going to do more research. I just had to call it with this piece or I would have never got it done. It turned out well but not as well as I would have liked. I was continuing a new technique I did with a previous miniature. This is the third John (Tre) Manor Sculpt I have painted. I'm fond of his style. Tha
  22. Another victory against my unpainted pile, this is Belegast the Bloodthirsty (the new version). I'd like to thank uber_n3rd, Jasonator and Guindyloo for the feedback I recieved in the wip thread.
  23. Been a while since I've had something to post here! I give you the barbarous Rollo, sculpted by Tre Manor: My first attempt at TMM! Hope you enjoy, WIP was on my blog at cashwiley.com.
  24. This is Rollo the Fellhanded from Red Box Games. I notice now that the pictures contain quite alot of white dots, that's because I did a poor job with the spray on matt varnish. It usually looks much better but on this figure I failed to get a even spray :/ Also the face got abit to much so I had to sort of fix it. It wasn't a master piece before but I do think it looked abit better. But varnishing mistakes aside I'm fairly happy with how he turned out.
  25. Edele of Aelfheim by Tre Manor -Elf After a swift polish of this figure I Greenstuffed it on the base. I'm very pleased with the way it came out. I got to work on this one so quick I didnt get many WIP shots in but I am not finish with her yet. I also got some hair highlights! What do you think? And here is one i with a little more shading!
