I've got three player characters and a random demon. The first is a kobold mage, from 03024 Kobold Leader and Sorcerer. I filled out his robes and cloak so he wouldn't be raggedy. The character is a terramancer, so I should have replaced the fire with earthy stuff, but I wasn't feeling that creative. Next is the half-leprechaun, for our irish-heritage player He's made from 50307, Mr. Grimm and a now faceless bones guy. I just cut off that guy's face and attached it to Mr. Grimm, who had his face ground down. I also filled in the robotic arm and ground off the back pack connector. Turning the hand into a humanoid hand didn't work too well, so don't look at that. The last player character is a new version of my doll mage, Eloria, made from 03648, Hyrekia. I liked her better than my previous. And last is 77258 Blood Demon. Just a random bones mini I finished. I hope you enjoy!

Since Painting Dog finally received my very late mini, I can post up the pictures I took of it. In the exchange questionnaire Painting Dog stated that they liked dragons and sic-fi stuff, so I decided to do both, because what's the point of a present if it's not awesomesauce. A space dragon was just what I wanted, but I wanted one with a gun. Like, a really big gun. So I took a chain gun from a CAV and attached it to the side of my dragon, as well as sculpting some armour onto it. I sculpted the terrain to match what is already on the bones silver dragon, then decided that it would look awesome if it was all blue, because he's on an alien planet, right? The dragon was painted purple, first a very dark purple (carnival purple with shimmer black paint), then amethyst purple brushed over that to make it look gem-like. The wings were painted with black shimmer paint, with slightly less dark nightmare black mixed with more shimmery black. The stars on the bottom parts of the wing were made with a toothpick and a silver. The belly scales, fins, and claws are all shimmer black, highlighted with darkened silver. For the gun, I wanted the barrel to look like it had recently been fired a lot, so I tried to make it look like hot metal. And I also put a little wrist computer around dragon's arm, also using a toothpick to make the design. I left it with a shiny finish because I really didn't want the matte sealer to dull the shimmer paints. In hand it looks very bright and rich, without all the shine spots that are in the picture. Of course if Painting Dog wants to put a matte finish on it, they can, but I wanted them to see the shiny version so they have both options

Last year, the awesome, amazing, fantastic, terrific, talented, awesome Talespinner (aka Andrew Pieper) made a special mini for me. I requested a living doll, in the form of a teddy bear (a rather specific teddy bear that I own, except he's hiding from me atm, otherwise I would post pictures of him too). The teddy bear is Cornelius Dapperbear, living doll created by one of my (many) D&D characters. The mini is positively tiny. I was going to take pictures of it with a penny, but I didn't have any. But here he is all on his own. Also, I made the base, which explains why it sucks when compared to the bear I hope y'all like him as much as I do

Here are my Oathsworn ruined walls, from their first Burrows & Badgers kickstarter. They were sculpted by the excellent Jo. The details she put into these are fantastic My favorite is the oven wall. Because it's an oven! Instead of making grey stone bricks I decided to go for tan, as though they were made from sandstone. I also resisted the urge to add plants, sand, dirt, or any other basing materials, because they're going to be used for gaming, so they need to work in any environment situation. I'm not really pleased with the way the final wash of brown over the plaster bits turned out, but not displeased with it enough to want to paint it over again. I finished it, I don't belong in House Procrastius! Here's the oven wall, with the large straight wall. I tried to paint the inside of the oven as though it had ash and burn stains on the stones. And here's all of them on a grid, with Sir Forscale guarding the room.

So, the tracking for my very late Summer exchange figure says that it passed through Canadian customs two days ago. I figure it will be there Soon so it should be safe-ish to post a show-off thread for it. AS LONG A TRAXIA DOESN'T LOOK IF SHE HASN'T GOTTEN HER PACKAGE!!!! Anyway, as I said, this was horribly late. I (partly) blame the base. I had built this really neat base out of sculpty. But then, right when I was nearly finished with it and untested water effects product ruined it for me and I had to restart the base Lesson learned: always test new water effects on something I don't care about. Traxia requested something furry or a hero. To my mind Shoatima fills both those niches. She also requested a display base. I hope the one I ended with will suffice. It's not as spiffy as the one I had in my head to begin with, but, at least my water effects didn't eat this one Without further fussing: My goal was to have everything on her be made of "natural" materials. So, everything that would normally be metal is painted to be shell (because otters like shells) and her leather is painted to be sea leather (shark skin or some such). I finally figured out that the weird little round thing on her left next to the knife is meant to be a bottle, so I painted it as a gourd. And her pouch and blanket are just fun coloured cloth. I really hope that Traxia enjoys her and that she was worth the wait

On Saturday at PaizoCon I was enlisted to further the mad schemings of a GM named Cosmo (his real name apparently, it's so fitting). He loves to torment his players with clowns. Last year, at his request, ReaperBryan's wife painted him a clown out of the Bones Stone Golem (#77171). This year Bryan painted the Bones Guantfield (#77211) up as a clown. Cutebutpsycho wanted to paint a clown too, so the clay golem (#77170) became a most horrifying Ronald McDonald. Naturally, this started a theme. By the time I was recruited, it was decided that the entire McDonald's Land crew had to be painted out of Bones minis. I painted Grimace and Officer BigMac. Grimace, Bones Flesh Golem #77169 Officer BigMac, Bones Fungus Man #77345 Cutebutpsycho painted the Fry Guys and the Apple Pie Tree, in addition to Ronald. Her husband (I don't remember if he has a forum name) painted the Hamburgerler (Robble! Robble!). OneBoot painted Birdie (who has an AMAZING crazy face). And ReaperBryan painted Mayor MacCheese. You'd think all this would have been enough. But no, it wasn't. Before these shenanigans began I had started painting a Warg (#77202). Which became a crazy clown wolf. I can only hope that my contributions will haunt the memories of PaizoCon gamers for years to come

This was supposed to be my entry for the most recent Bones Beauty Pageant, but something weird happened in my brain and I translated May 4th to May 6th as the finish date... and finished him late By like, a day. Go figure. Anyway, when I was looking for inspiration for him I turned to my Hubby, as usual, because he has interesting ideas. Almost immediately he thought of a portion of the Dethlok song Mermaider II, which references a prophet. For a reference picture he gave me the special edition cover of Dethalbum II, which is a really awesome, dark merman wielding two tridents. So for my prophet I decided to go for dark tones, staying in the cool ranges. Mostly, I just wanted to keep him really dark, as though he was lurking at the bottom of an abyss. His armour is all grey, with a dark charcoal sample paint standing in for dark elf shadow (which I don't yet have), then I used dark elf skin, and dark elf highlight. The every light points (which are inspired by the bright points on piranha scales) is rainy grey. I washed the armour with watered down brown liner, to give it an aged, grey bone look, though I don't think I achieved that as well as I would have liked. His bottom most skirt is black, with carnival purple highlights. The pleated skirt was based in forest green, then highlighted with a blend of minty sample paint and forest green which made a nice teal. The dark blue layers are nightmare black with some P3 blue highlights. And that's about what I remember of his skirts. Aside from that I came to the conclusion that he probably never gets undressed, unless he has very good motivation (and help getting dress afterwards ). Finally, I did the OSL effect from his bobble with Atlantean Aqua, lightened with white and watered down a lot. The water effect is entirely new to me and caused me no end of nervousness while I was at work and it was curing. I was pretty sure I had ruined him. But it looks pretty neat, especially with the red in there. A friend at work is departing (for Germany no less!), and as a way to say goodbye and how much I appreciated her, I decided to paint something for her. Since I didn't really know what she liked (aside from chocolate; we had a chocolate exchange going between the two of us) I figured I would painted a little animal. And I've always loved owls, this one is particularly nice, and was pretty easy to get based and make pretty. It was a pretty quick paint job too. After I got it based, the green stuff cured and the primer cured, I got it painted in just a few hours. I did give it a matte varnish, just to protect it from any handling it might see, but I figured since it was most likely going to be a display piece, it didn't need my usual 2 coats gloss + 1 coat matte I usually give metal minis She really liked the mini, I'm pleased to say

My Spring Exchange buddy, EbonStorms, requested "something unusual from the Chronoscope line". Now, most of the Chronoscope line can be described as such but I set out to fulfill the request. He also said he'd be playing a mini skirmish game called Vortex, which based on what I found online, sounded like it included sci-fi, post-apocalypse, western, or basically anything you felt like throwing in there. At my LGS I found something I figured fit the bill pretty well. Studio 2/Pinnacle Entertainment Group mini, manufactured by Reaper as a part of the Savaged Worlds line, sculpted by Bob Ridolfi. There were a number to choose from, but I finally narrowed it down to the Toxic Shaman or the female Templar. Then I decided to send both I decided to go with the toxic theme for the shaman, and gave him snake skin pants, based on the rainbow boa snake. The iridescent sheen I made with "pearl" paint, a teeny bit of blue, a teeny bit of green, and a teeny bit of purple (seriously, not even a full paintbrush poke). Then I watered it way, way, waaaaaaaay, way down. Way down. Then I prayed I had watered it down enough and put it on his pants.... and I had watered it down enough! And I remembered to breath Anyway, the browns are reaper's blackened brown, shield brown, dark skin, dark skin highlight, ginger cookie, oiled leather, umm.... something else... I used a lot of brown. For the green I used christmas wreath base, then citadel warpstone glow, then reaper alien goo to make it all glowy. His eyes are alien goo cloured too His skin was based in redstone highlight, then tan flesh, then tan highlight. I'm really pleased with him. Hubby didn't want me to send him away He said he had a really cool idea for a NPC. I told him to buy me another and I'll paint him again I'm somewhat less pleased with the templar girly, if only because of how her bug friend went on the base. I dry fit him before hand, but once everything was painted up, the darn bug refused to go in how I wanted and I ended up having to put him facing the wrong direction and do a bunch of filling with the golden corse pumice gel (which is super neat stuff, btw). Darn pinning. Anyway, I did her skin in the tan skin triad. Her hair is black, with nightmare black highlights (so... blue!). Her wrap is the same christmas wreath, warpstone glow, but before the alien goo, I put down a layer of minty sample paint to get a jade-ish colour. I don't even remember the blues I used on her jeans I do know I used redstone, pumpkin, redstone, brown liner, and tan for the base (his base too, I think I used more pumpkin on his). And apparently she found some booze on the way to EbonStorms, because she's more tilty in the picture he showed. Bad girl!

When I decided to enter the Painting Excuses contest I thought about painting Kyrie as Little Red Riding Hood (Pingo made mention of it when she came out and the idea has been rattling in my head ever since). But as I prep-ed her, it occurred to me that it would take very little to turn her into a barbarian version of Princess Mononoke. I mean, wolf cape! So I filled out her skirt with green stuff and covered the wolf face with a round blob to make the mask. I ended up wishing I had had made the mask bigger though. I used the rosy skin triad on her, blackened brown, shield brown, ginger cookie... and some tan on her armour bits. I know I started with ginger cookie for the cloak, and ended with white, but I don't remember the in-between colour (painting journal, what's that? ) And as usual, my camera washed out the work I did on the white. Honest to Sophie, there's actual shading and whatnot on that fur cloak

My first item is a mini my brother in law sent me, presumably to paint for him (he included no notes or instructions). It didn't come in a package and it had no markings, so I have no idea who made it. I actually struggled with it for a while, because there's a lot going on, but eventually realized that after I got the basic colours on it I could just splotch some red in there and hit it with a brown wash and it would look good and dirty. As though it had been through a battle... duurrrrr! So it's basic tabletop quality. And since he didn't pay with chocolate, which is the agreed upon price for my services, that's what he gets! ETA: Thanks to Wyvernfire I know that the body pile is from the Gamers: Hands of Fate KS and it's official name is the Mound of Dead Bards. Apparently someone didn't like their singing... Next I have my half-orc priestess conversion of the bones version of Seelah, Iconic Paladin. I cut the shield off her back, the helmet out of her arm, the scabbard from the inside of her cloak, and gave her a club. Then I tried to use some Golden brand goop to smooth out the cloak, but it didn't work very well and left a weird texture that I couldn't get rid of. Oh, and I replaced the helmet with a box of chocolates for RP reasons Anyway, I eventually just got sick of trying to make her look better and decided that sub-tabletop quality would suffice. I kind of wanted to set the cloak on fire But I love the little box of chocolates (it is Whitman's chocolates!) Speaking of conversions, here's my bionoid gal, the changed form of #143 (Spelljammer character). Underneath all the green and brown stuff is Marie, the chronoscope robot. In hindsight it probably would have been easier to get one of their sculpting dollies and make her using that.... but I didn't know they had those when I started And yes, she's very shiny, but I want her that way. Her exoskeleton is supposed to look like a beetle shell, so I figured it would be shiny. It just looks awful in pictures. Finally, here are my other two firewalls. I decided I would do a little OSL effect with them, unlike the first two. Anyway, enjoy! Comments and suggestions welcome

... and they all fall down. Where they blind-folded or something?! Druid! This is actually the first mini I ever bought, well over ten years ago. At the time I couldn't imagine painting her (those tiny eyes!) and figured she'd just be metal coloured. Obviously, things have changed. I decided that I wanted her to be a more colourful druid, because nature is colourful, so why are druids always in boring green and brown? And then her bird ended up being a parrot. This is the mini for my Hubby's dragonborn paladin, Sharoc-Pel. Hubby wanted him fairly simple and non-fancy, so I stuck with steel coloured armour for him. This is Rokori, my Little People Beauty Pageant entry. She's a guard for the King of the dwarves, which is what the symbol on her shield is meant to be. When I entered her in the pageant she actually wasn't done, but I didn't notice until too late that her belt buckle was unfinished. So this is the finished version, with the shield on her belt buckle too. And last is the polar bear. It was painted up as familiar for a snow elf character. She has a name, but durned if I remember it Went with warm whites for this polar bear and put some snow effect on her paws, between her claws. She has yet to bloody anything. Here is my submission for the current beauty pageant, a beholder who guard the Waters of Life. And here's the write up my hubby (mostly hubby) and I (I helped!) did for him: Name: Guardian of the Waters of Life (Guardian, for short) Stats Int: 22 AC: -2 Move: 18 HD: 20 Size: 10' Diameter Magic Resist: 60% THAC0: 5 No. of Attacks: 9 Damage: 7 attacks are eyestalks, effects are special; one attack is main eye, effect is special; last attack is bite, damage is 3d10 Special Attacks Eyestalk 1: Submissive Gaze, creatures of 5HD or less meeting this eye's gaze immediately and permanently fall under the control of the Guardian. Creatures of higher HD may save vs spell to negate. If they fail effect lasts for one day. Eyestalk 2: Confusion Zone, creates an area 30' x 30', anyone entering or in this area must save vs spell of become baffled and forget what they were doing for 1d3 days. Arcane spellcasters must make a separate save for each spell memorized or they loose the spell. Zone lasts for 10 minutes. Eyestalk 3: Truth Zone, creates an area 30' x 30', anyone caught in this area will suddenly start telling truths they have hidden. For example, someone who has intentions other than those he's stated to his party members will suddenly blurt out his true intentions. Save vs spell with a -4 to negate this effect. Zone lasts lasts for 15 minutes. Effect lasts for 24 hours after leaving the zone. Eyestalk 4: Repulse Metal, a cone 60' long, 20' wide at the end, any metal, magical or non is thrown back 12d6 feet. No save. Weapons are ripped out of hands, people in armour are thrown, as are people with sheathed weapons, or buckles break. People thrown take 1d6 dmg per 10', save vs breath weapon for half damage. If save is failed, 25% KO. Eyestalk 5: My Friend is my Enemy, creates an area 80' radius around the Guardian, people caught in this area see companions as their most hated enemies and attack them on sight. Save vs spell to negate; the power lasts for 30 rounds/minutes, whether they make the save or not they must save each round or attack their companions. Can only use this ability 1/day. Eyestalk 6: Force Blast, 10' diameter of focused energy. No tricks, no special effects, it just hurts! 5D12 damage... sorry one minor trick... Since it literally comes with the blink of an eye, you have no time to dogde or anything, so there's no save. =( Eyestalk 7: Look at my Garden Grow, used on particularly troublesome people, save vs spell with minus 6 or become a plant of the Guardian's choosing. The only way this can be undone is if the Spirit of the Waters of Life wills it. Usable 1/day. Main Eye: 1st effect is Divine Intent for the Waters of Life. This effect can only be blocked by the divine intervention of a greater god. 2nd effect Flesh to Water, Guardian purifies the creature's body and turns it into more Water of Life. Guardian uses this effect only if the creature's intent for the Water is nefarious. Special Defenses Camouflage: the Guardian's thorny hide and flowered eyestalks allow him to hide amoung the bushes and flowers of the garden, being 97% undetectable. Armour of Thorns: Any creature landing a successful melee attack with weapons shorter than a 2 handed sword automatically take 3d4 damage (3d6 damage is natural weapons like claws or fists). Only takes 25% damage from fire, no damage from cold, plants will not effect or harm him in any way. History: The Guardian is the ancient protector of the Waters of Life. He has guarded the Water so long, and drank so much of the Water that it has changed him. He's lost his natural ability to levitate and has instead grown long plant-like tentacles on which he walks. He doesn't see this as a loss though, since he can move faster than many of his kind now. He views the Waters and the garden which surrounds it as the most beautiful thing, and gives his all to protect it. He cannot actually be killed, despite how hard an adventurer may try. The Guardian believes the Waters he's ingested keep him alive, but it is actually the Spirit of the Waters who chose him and keeps him from dying. Hubby has an evil brain.

Here are two elves I've finished recently. Well, the snow elf wasn't so recent, I just never took pictures of him. First, snow elf. He has an actual name, but it's very elfy, thus unpronounceable or rememberable. So he's just "snow elf". His armour is red dragon scale, his helmet is ancient bone, the axe is a root with an emerald. Can you tell he's a druid? I don't remember what company made the base, but it's a clear one that I painted bluey. I just recently put the snow goop on it, which is probably why I never took pictures and posted them. And my doll mage. I am reasonably pleased with how the red came out. I wanted her robes to look like red velvet (she's wearing theater curtains!) and I spent a lot of time on them. Probably more than I needed to, but I think it looks pretty.

I'm great at procrastination. It's one of my best skills. But I finally finished all these minis which have been on my desk for a while. Mostly trying to get them out of the way so I can work on my diorama. First off, and proudest, The Jester! He's a conversion of the stonehaven gnome skeleton into a skeletal jester. It's a living doll that attached itself to one of the characters in our current campaign. Next we have a little crystal dragon. I took the spiretop drake and ice imp from the plastic WotC minis, and put them together to make it. The dragon is supposed to look like the Skylander Flashwing. And here's my Lysette, from the beauty pageant in October. Pretty pleased with her Gus the Innkeeper! Finally, Sir Forscale, the Green Knight! I painted him green and silver for Hubby. Here is my entry for the Randomness Song Contest. My song is Last Time by Moonlight, by Enya from her album "...And Winter Came". The song is best listened to very loud with good speakers (bad speakers will vibrate). I intended her to look like she was walking in a field of snow, bathed in moonlight. The dress is meant to blend with the snow at the hem, with snowflakes trailing upwards. Her hair is silvery white, and her skin shining with moonlight. I used very water-downed pearly white to get the sheen I was aiming for on her dress, skin, and hair. Then I put a lil on the snow, to give it that shimmery look that snow has at night. And here's the song.

I almost forgot to put my bad boys pageant entry on the show off forum. We decided that he was a very vain fellow (look at that cod-piece!), so the horns would be very white with arcane runes glowing on them. The idea for the staff was that it's glowing like Gandalf's staff when he was fighting in the Necromancer's citadel on his own. His fur is supposed be fox fur.

I've had Koshrel done for a week now, he made his grand debut at last week's D&D session, and I even posted him on my dA account, but I've been busy, tired, and lazy, so I hadn't gotten around to editing my pictures for these forums. Until tonight. When I have two more family members. First, our patriarch, Koshrel "Darkflame" SkaRae. He's 03316 Kar'Drakir of the reptus, with wings added. I also gave him Frulla's axe changed up his sword a bit. There's stuff I'm not entirely happy with, but he looks good on the table, and my husband thinks he's awesome, so it'll do Hope you like him.
