  1. So I backed both of Oathsworn's Heroines in Sensible Shoes kick starters, and got a free resin piece in each one. The nest in KS1, The Treasure Pile in KS2... I brought them with me to paint day, as I have discovered I get more accomplished if I am doing non detail oriented work there.... I figure that the can be treasure tokens for my Frost Grave warband.... Nest: Basecoat of GW Graveyard earth, eggs are Warpainter Ocher 5, 4, & 3 Clothing is WP Violet 5 Bones, skull, & scroll are Iroku Backpack is 50% Black and Brown Leather... Treasure pile: Chest bands a
  2. From Impact! Miniatures on Facebook Holiday game special KickStarter coming tomorrow. All rewards will ship by December 5th. I have a special opportunity to buy back my board game Impact City Roller Derby from Game Salute. So tomorrow I'll be running a special 2 week KickStarter to help me make new resin miniatures for the game and offer the game itself at an incredible price to backers to help me buy back my game. I will also be offering my other sports games (Passing Shot (tennis), Golf Dice and Forceball (hockey/lacrosse) at incredible prices. First 27 backers will be able to get al
  3. So while at ReaperCon this year one of the vendors was selling various sizes of this Collapse Industries Alien Bust. I completely missed out on him and was a bit sad/disappointed about it when SGHawkins showed him to me claiming she purchased the last two of him. When she saw my disappointment, she laughed and tossed one of her two my way. I was super excited, it's outside my genre, but looked like a lot of fun to paint. I was suddenly struck with an idea to give him a bowl haircut and evil goatee. I approached Mori, but she was very busy with classes and art stuff so I figured why not as
  4. Here my latest finished figure! I did her for the a White Wolf Minuatures contest that ends tomorrow and I'll also bring her along to ReaperCon this year. This is Lagertha Lothbrok the Shieldmaiden or "skjaldmær" in Old Norse. I went with a mix of gritty realism and fantasy. What I pictured in my head: She's just finished a battle of epic proportions, she's coated in the blood of her enemies and standing alone in a world that has gone mad, the ground cracks and erupts and blue light pours forth illuminating her and she looks around for the next enemy to slay... I've got a b
  5. So.. finally getting started on this.. don't know the full direction yet... I'll get better pictures as I go..
  6. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1155753622/trolls?ref=category_newest A small quick project to launch and provide high quality troll miniatures.
  7. I owe an extra-special thanks to all the Reaper Forumites who helped win this beastie and allowed me to paint her! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! I loved this project. I wanted to paint this resin master sculpt all in blue with an ice and snow theme. Also, I wanted to create what seems like the perfect camouflage for an icy dragon hunting after dark. So the dragon from below is blue-black like the night sky, invisible when she soars overhead, while she is icy and pale on her back to hide in the snow by day. But I couldn't resist carrying the aurora pattern on to the back of the
  8. As if I don't already have a bunch on my plate... I saw this gorgeous figure was going OOP and it was on sale for 50% off with free shipping from Spain... I HAD to get her. Lagertha Lothbrok from the History Channel's "Vikings" is a beautiful, powerful, intelligent, and amazing character. I also saw that White Wolf Miniatures is doing a painted contest for her this month and now I'm working on the resin beauty as a change of pace and am inspired to paint my first 75mm figure! Pease join me on this fun journey and give me comments, advice, and no holds barred critiques! SKÓL!!!!!!
  9. About this model: The 1/60 Despot was designed and built by John Bear Ross, under license from Reaper, back around 2003 in a limited run. I don't remember the exact number but I want to say there were only 100 made. It is a combination of resin and metal parts and requires quite a bit of assembly before I can start painting. The tank treads look to be the most difficult part. Before anything more, I want to say that Mike Hardy (aka Black Lightning 2 back in the day) is awesome! I couldn't afford to buy one of these limited edition models when they were released, but several years ago Mike

  11. OK folks, I need some help... As most of you know, I am going to enter this guy in the Infamy painting contest, and I would like to make the best showing I can, so here are a bunch of pics, please choose the ones you think show him off the best! (I can send 8 pics total....) So please choose your favorite 8 pics and help me decide! Thanks! George
  12. The Death Chicken Commences! I had a little time tonight, so I continued with Infamy Mini's One Shot Goblin Chieftain. First off, He is a big boy, so I am going to think of him as a Hobgoblin, instead of a goblin. (Sorry Buglips) He will have Orange skin, as all my Hobgoblins do... Secondly, this resin is very different from the other resin minis I have worked with, much softer and more flexible than the Forge World Iron Warriors Dreadnought I built, or Battlefront's resin vehicle bodies... It is Fragile as Hades! Ias I was slowly sawing the chicken's lower jaw off the sprue w
  13. Well, after a few minor touch-ups, heeeeeeere's Bob! Reaper MSP acrylics over Floquil Gray Model Railroad Primer. WIP thread is here: http://forum.reapermini.com/index.php?/topic/68446-large-stitch-golem-project/ Questions and Comments are welcomed. Glen
  14. This is a mild conversion of Reaper's Large Stitch Golem. The main piece is resin with a separately cast white metal left arm with a long, pointed weapon. The piece is about 1.75 inches (43mm) tall and is rather portly. Sections of the piece are sculpted with a loosely woven material that reminds me of burlap, so that's what I'm going with. The rest of the piece is covered with a smooth material that could be cloth or tanned leather, maybe even bare skin. It's anybody's call, I suppose, but I'm going with tanned leather. In keeping with the 'stitch' theme, the 'eyes' are two different sized bu
  15. Fragged Empire RPG: Protagonist Archive and Miniatures. I don't know about the RPG, but the miniatures look rather impressive. I wish they had a bundle option for the miniatures.
  16. These are a couple of 25mm resin tents I found in the clearence section at the Hobby Bunker in Malden MA, the last New England Paint Day, for $3! Figured they would be good table top dressing for out door encounters. (Now I need to get the campfire stuff from our hosts....) Going to try to speed paint them for Friday.... Left one is VMC Green Grey, Right one is VMC Feldgrau with Black. These were primed with Dupli-Color sandable black auto primer. (I read on the forums somewhere that this is what P3 primer is with a different label, so I thought I would try it. From the cover
  17. These 3 are the Female VIllagers from Fenryll Minitures (FA151) in resin, my husband refers to them as the 3 Cinderellas. This is a tabletop paint job for gaming, though I am pretty worried the one with the bucket is going to break at the ankles, which is why I didn't really remove any flash around her ankles and feet.
  18. So actually meeting one of the months goals for the Resolutionary Painting Challenge, I present the Graveyard set from Target Games. This is a nice resin set that I have had sitting around spray primed black for more years than I can remember. Frostgrave finally gave me the motivation to actually paint it. I forsee much more painting from me in the future as I am actually playing games now.
  19. Here is a few more models completed so far this year. I decided to finish the remaining slugs and the Terror Grub. I kept the paint scheme the same as the four previous ones. Here are some closeups of the terror grub showing details of the mouth. These were nice and easy to paint and I can't wait to get the out on the playing table. As always comments welcome.
  20. I had always liked this miniature from a small UK company called heresy miniatures, he was originally a limited release of 500 in metal but later released in resin and I managed to get my hands on one. (Thanks uber for pointing me to the website for the scale 75 paint as I found him there). This guy was a lot of fun to paint and I am very happy with the results. He stands 43mm tall and has a lot of exposed flesh to play with so I thought I would practice my freehand. Please c&c and I hope you like him ;)
  21. Here is a selection of four Heresy Giant Slugs, these are made from resin although the ones listed on the website are metal. These were washed but I still had some trouble putting on some primer, for some reason it wouldn't stick, so I ended putting on a thicker coat of tanned skin as a base coat. Here is a quick scale shot for comparison. As always comments welcome.
  22. As another part of the 54mm challenge Ub3r N3rd and Dontfear started I have chosen this one from Legendarion. Gebhuza Hyena Warrior Bust, Awesome sculpt, no flash at all... Only the sword is separate so no filling gaps with greenstuff, just clean it, paint it.. The "paint it" part is easier said then done, sooo much detail.. all those knives... He's amazing. So first Pic, right out of the box. Pleas be patient with me, I've got three busts a 54mm and a 28mm on my workbench now.
  23. Just one of the Stonehaven trolls to get him off my shelf of shame. It was fun playing with such large surfaces. Let me know what you think
  24. Another pony for Christmas presents. All sorts of extras and pieces parts across the miniature. I loved some of the colors I played with and what started as a support for a lost crossbow became a wrist communicator with the help of a new metallic paint I wanted to try. He just wasn't happy with the idyllic and pastoral world of his birth. He is off hunting monsters in the modern world. C&C welcome. Hope you enjoy
  25. Finally finished this one off. Colors just would not work the way I wanted them to. I am still not entirely satisfied but I am okay with how things came out. There is a lot more detail and fiddly points in this than the original ponies They are still cute though. C&C always welcome
