  1. Hello everyone, now that the event is over, here are some more pictures of my entry in the 17th Quarterly contest. A big thanks to everybody that voted for me. This is a 77752, Female Minotaur sculpted by Jason Wiebe. It was a fun model to work on and I challenged myself painting object source lighting (OSL) on it. I made the fire with pieces of popsicle stick and Liquitex heavy gel medium.
  2. Hello everyone, here is my converted Reaper Miniatures 01411, Harapan sculpted by Jason Wiebe. Back in 2005, this limited-edition model was produced to raising money after the Tsunami disasters in SE Asia. The funds collected were distributed to the Red Cross and Unicef. Nowadays, this mini is very hard to find and the molds were supposedly destroyed after production. I was lucky enough to find one and spent all my free time during the last two weeks converting, painting it and creating a base for it. I converted its weapon by replacing the blades with a cleaver and a t
  3. Hello everyone, here's the result of my first attempt at sky and earth non metallic metal (SENMM). This Dark Heaven Legends model 02023, Tolzar Righteous Arm was sculpted by Sandra Garrity. I started painting it during RVE (Reaper Virtual Expo). I painted the cape as I was following along Ian Markon's class on blending through Layering and Feathering. I then painted the freehand at the bottom of the cape during Brice Cocanour's Beginner Freehand class. I finally painted his armor, shield and hammer head using the SENMM technique. It's my first take at Sky and Earth Non Metallic Metal. I did my
  4. WIP Link Somehow I forgot to cross post her from WIP to Show Off. Here she is. This was my sky-earth-non-metallic-metal learning project.
  5. Well, it's been about seven years since I last painted a space marine, and I have to confess that seeing all the amazing work on the new Primaris Marines was making me want to give it a try again. I have long thought it would be cool to do a chrome (or SENMM [Sky-Earth Non-Metallic Metal]) Marine, so I finally gave that a shot! The technique itself is painfully slow, but I had a lot of fun, and I'm pretty happy with the results! Oh, and I did do a little bit of conversion work by swapping in some old Dark Angels bits, in case anyone was wondering!
  6. Hi everyone! I feel like I've been a horrible forumite lately in terms of posting (lots of busy life stuff, such as the birth of my daughter, but that's still not a good enough excuse ), and I need to get a WIP started again! Now, some of you may have already seen this guy on my FaceBook page, but I'll try to get this WIP caught up quickly as there is still plenty more to do! First off, though, background: Like a good number of people in this hobby, it was seeing Space Marines for the first time that really got me into this hobby. They were just so cool (
  7. Hey everyone! So sorry I've been gone from the forums so long (I miss you all badly and will be catching up with life on the forums again now!), but life has been a very wild (but also very good!) ride this summer/early fall, and I just let projects pile up and kill my motivation. Consequently, I decided to push everything aside and just paint a simpler mini that I've long wanted to work on in order to knock the rust off my painting skills! Plus, seeing the excellent James Wappel painting all of his cool Archangels while mine languished in their blisters was just too much for me to take!
