  1. Just noticed this KS was posted here. Only 53 hours left.... https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/wowbuildings/wowbuildings-further-space-adventures-3d-print-stl/description Here we are folks, WOWBuildings is expanding further into space, with the infrastructure now for several types of scenarios, this KS will be a mix of vehicles and Buildings so you will have an even bigger range of choices for your tabletops. all will come in STL format and cuts will be made where needed so boot up those 3D printers once again and jump on board for what hopefully will be a great sack full of go
  2. What's up, denizens of the Reaper forums! I'm proud to be able to show you some of Breachstorm ; the new sci-fi skirmish game launching on 9/18/18. :D Breachstorm is a small-scale, fast-paced game featuring 6-8 models per side that's streamlined to play in under an hour. Every part of the game - from picking your asymmetric, narrative objectives to setting up the terrain, is a crucial part of the game's strategy and a unique activation system allows players to take turns acting with small portions of their team lead by powerful Field Officers so you're never o
  3. Didn't see a thread for this one yet, so.... Sculpts by Roberto Chaudon and art by Danny Cruz. I backed simply to help a new company.
  4. One of my favorite authors have a new KS project... Because there just ain't enough slice of life or baking in modern Sci-Fi books... About Years ago I wrote a science fiction story about two forever-friends, unlike in almost every way--species, backgrounds, temperaments, orientations--and how they came together in a relationship that would last through every tribulation, including an intergalactic war. When readers asked me how they met, I wrote their college story. When readers asked me what happened next, I wrote how they began their xenothe
  5. While waiting for washes to dry on an exchange fig this morning, I decided I'd try getting a decent paint job onto a fig I pulled out of the latest BoGW that @robinh let me browse through last week. I pulled this fig because I thought it would work well as an evil mage type in the Savage Rifts setting. But I didn't think I'd use it for the current game, as the last encounter is tonight, before we switch over to 5th Ed for a while. But what the heck, I'm going to see what I can do with him anyway. Here's about 40 minutes of base coating. Robes/gloves will be dark red
  6. Back in December, when I finally had some time and motivation to get back to painting, I decided I'd really quickly do up some IMEF marines. Just table top, didn't even clean up mold lines or anything. Well, do primarily to being easily distracted by......what was I saying? Oh yes, easily distracted by other bright shiny objects, it took me over 4 months to get them all done. Here is a quick group shot. I still don't have any real futuristic urban terrain to use to shoot these guys. Reggie and Torch still need to be sealed, but looking at the forecast it could be
  7. Well here it is part the 66th Legion of the UTF ready for deployment Stored away in a purpose build wooden box with steel paper bottom (all Cavs have magnetic sheet on bases) Been fun sharing the progress of the army and has been a good incentive to keep it going. If your interested heres the thread as I did each batch with some close ups of each type of Cav regards '66'
  8. Dylan Blackzorn looked around at the engine room with an annoyed expression on his face. The raiders had caused a hell of a mess in there. A fair amount of damage, too from the looks of things. He signaled for the others with him to follow his lead; they needed to be sure there weren't any surprises waiting for them before they got to work bringing the various systems back online. He flexed his fingers inside the energy glove on his left hand. In addition to being a great asset in the hand to hand combat they'd had to engage in with the raiders, it was also a powerful tool. With i
  9. Stars Reach second kickstarter is live. Come see all the new spaceships that have been added. If you see something you like, feel free to back our project! Enjoy, and as always happy gaming! Here is a teaser pic, more models available! Link: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/twilightgamedesigns/1049132205?ref=452947&token=d5452280
  10. Grublicks idly scratched his butt. He was still in his room/cell, waiting for the crew of the trader vessel to decide whether to take him on as their newest crew member or not. He really didn't understand the hold up; hadn't he surrendered to them, and happily sold out the raiders that he had been with? Back home, that would've made him a junior officer at the very least. It was always hard to figure some of the other races different customs, though. Thinking back, it hadn't been a very hard choice; the raiders had underestimated the strength of the vessel they attacked, and got w
  11. Lithia surveyed her surroundings warily; the battle for this ship wasn't over yet. Thanks to the warning from that ELz-1 protection unit that their unusual passenger had, they were aware of the raiders almost as soon as they struck. The rest of the ship's security and crew had broken up into small groups to ferret out the attackers. Thanks to her background with the commandos, she was scouting ahead of the main group by herself, which was exactly how she liked it. I found this figure on the melt table at Reapercon; she was headless and had some damage to her back, but I liked the f
  12. got a 3D printer, or access to a friends, or one at a library or university this might be for you About With this project I will be bring you a collection of Sci-Fi Vehicles and Artillery to be used in whatever tabletop game you choose. With more vehicles being added as stretch goals are hit. All sculpts will be supplied as 3d printable STL files. Why am I doing this project? My passions are sculpting, 3d printing and wargames. I wanted to be able to field the sort of armys I wanted without breaking the bank. So I started sculpting the sort of models I needed. After sculpting qui
  13. Elpagg glanced over over the unconscious woman; she'd make an excellent prize to deliver to the cap'n. They would probably get a decent price for her at the slave markets of Nepo-7. Well, if she lived that long... The raider shook his head to clear his thoughts. Best to concentrate on right now, he thought, as he continued to loot her cabin. She had jewelry and some tech equipment that would bring in a nice pile of credits; all of this was haphazardly piled on the table as he continued going through the storage compartments of her cabin. Suddenly, he heard a slight noise come
  14. I've been running a Savage Rifts campaign (Pinnacle did a Kickstarter to adapt Palladium's classic Rifts setting over to the Savage Worlds rules). So I decided I needed some things painted that would work in that setting. As the Coalition is ever present but I have lots of "guys in armor" I decided to start with some Skelebots (The Coalition's disposable killer robots, designed to look like skeletons, as the Coalition is all about the skulls). I have a bit of an issue with ordering anything from Palladium these days (Robotech) combined with their existing Skelebot figs being from th
  15. I'm going to be running Savage Rifts some in the new year (at least until everyone gets tired of either 1) dying, or 2) being indestructible, or 3) wants to go play some 5e. For those that don't know, Rifts is Palladium Games "everything and the kitchen sink" game setting; magic, psionics, sci-fi, monsters, giant robots, dragons, aliens... you name it. Its actually the game I started out my RPG journey on, many, many years ago. So when Pinnacle decided to Kickstarter a Savage Worlds version of Rifts, I had to pledge. Since we had an open time (one game ended, our other one is on br
  16. Started these back in October, specifically the Sara Blitzer conversion. Was working on them at Reapercon, finished them during the Minivember challenge. Based and sprayed last night. I also completed one more of the Tisdale cousins, from the BoGW. They are ready for the game tonight. From left to right: 80024, 80049, 80014, 80019, 80021, 80010.
  17. Got my Wave 1 of MERCS: Recon last week. Wave 1 consists of the two versions of the game: Counter Threat, which has the CCC and EU as the MERCS, and Assassination Protocol, which has the KemVar and Keizai Waza. Each faction consists of 5 MERCS, and each box also comes with 10 SecFor (Security Forces): 5 SecForII with Shotguns and 5 SecForIII with machine guns. The sculpts for these are all the same in a box, but the sculpts are different between boxes, so you end up with 2 different sculpts of each time 5. Wave two will include all sorts of KS exclusive figs as well as a whole mess of fac
  18. I've been on a painting tear since ReaperCon. Here's one from last week. Pathfinder's "Iron Gods" Adventure Path crosses over into science fiction, including robots and androids, such as the android priestess Meyanda. Wayne Reynolds painted the cover of the Adventure Path where Meyanda appears: click for link. Bobby Jackson sculpted the character. I like what he did with this delicate sculpt. I decided to give her a sci-fi-styled base, not my usual rock/grass/leaf palette. I started with a piece of plasticard shaped like square floor-tiles, gouged o
  19. I like to speed-paint. This past year, I spent a lot more time on other projects and didn't do much painting, but I got in a few rounds of speed-painting at KublaCon (in May) and at Origins (in June). I don't know why I didn't post these photos months ago, but here they are now. At KublaCon, the speed-painters get to use sets of about 30 little plastic pots of craft paint, like you might find in a paint-by numbers kit -- joined in rows of sprue with flip-off lids, and all set into a routed piece of plywood. I don't know who makes the paints. The range of colors is
  20. So, I got this pretty cool figure a few years ago at my first Reapercon. I don't think I've ever seen him painted up, so I figured I'd give it a shot, and I'll be bringing him to this year's 'con. The base on the figure was slightly miscast, so I removed it and attached the figure to an urban rubble base ('old factory' by Basicks). His pants are painted up in an WW2 German 'ambush pattern' camouflage scheme. Because I'm a glutton for punishment, I decided to try some freehand tattoos on him. I'm doing something vaguely reminiscent of the tr
  21. Another one for Patrons this month. It's been so long since I have painted an Infinity model, I'd forgotten at how beautiful the sculpts really are. I pulled inspiration from Akira since the bike reminded me so much of those comics. This one was easy to paint, and since it was Infinity I had to go NMM and I did my best to match the quality of Angel Giraldez. I'm not sure if it was mission accomplished...
  22. Been taking a break from painting big dragons, and working on some stuff for my ever-ongoing Shadowrun campaign. I needed some opposition to teach my players 'professionalism', so here's Team Alpha... Mostly Hasselfree, and as always my photography is terrible :) And, some group shots: I'm just noticing now how dark these are... I need to figure out white balance!!!
  23. When scouting the local Dollar Tree this past week, I saw this sand mold of the Sydney Opera House. It's part of a collection they have along with other world landmarks like the Eiffel Tower, Pyramid, and Leaning Tower of Pisa. I thought it looked like it might be useful as some sort of Sci-Fi industrial structure, like a large generator, pumping station, or engine of some sort. So, after glueing on some bits, and painting this was the outcome: IF you want to read more about the project, and see some more work in process p
  24. This is Scale 75's Bitsie or to use the the full title; Ares Condominium, Operator 31, 'Bitsie'. I have no idea what all that means since there's no backstory to the piece. Nada. There are six metal parts and a resin base. I epoxied the base to a wooden block and enlarged it with Aves Apoxie Sculpt, added some kitty litter (fresh!) rocks, some wire rebar, a bent styrene pipe, and the smashed pink teddy bear (also Aves). Overall the fit was fine, but there where some areas where the detail got a bit soft and/or nebulous. It was nothing that couldn't be handled. I pinned and epoxied all of the j
  25. So my husband is running a game this Saturday and he asked "Do you have any robot figures?" and I said "Ummm, let me get back to you." Happily, I had on hand a copy of Patrick Keith's 50246, "Marie She-Bot" familiar to film aficionados from Fritz Lang's seminal "Metropolis". I also had a handful of little robots from Johnny Lauck's Salvage Crew. So I glued them together and primed them and painted them very simply with metallic paints. The whole thing took less than an hour. For metallics I use the principles I learned for gilding: Everything has a color
