    Infinity Joan of Arc

Another one that I finished back in May. I have to say she is one of my favorites that I have done. I wanted to do a twist on her typical color scheme of blue armor, red cloth, and blonde hair so I went with white armor, blue cloth, and red hair. It was a gamble but I am so happy with how the white armor turned out. Also her sword was my first attempt at NMM since I first tried it a few years ago. There are definitely areas that needed more work but I finished her about 5 hours before leaving for a convention and I needed sleep. In my mind, she was definitely a level up paint job for me. At the convention she got 2nd place in SciFi Single and Judges Choice.
  2. Sci-Fi characters and their sidekicks that will work in a variety of settings and genres. Heroic 28mm scale white metal miniatures.. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/643047657/me-and-my-shadow-outlanders-phase-2?ref=category_newest
  3. Part of getting back into painting after such a long absence involved painting figures that I found to be pure fun. As I greatly enjoy painting Pulp I decided to put together a team that used a mix of figures from Reaper and Counterblast. Reaper figures are so versatile, they can mix well with just about anything out there. Reaper figure #50129 sculpted by Patrick Keith Counterblast figure, sculpted by Patrick Keith Counterblast figure, sculpted by Patrick Keith Reaper figure, #59041, sculpted by Bob Ridolfi Counterblast figure, sculpted by Patrick Keith Patrick is one of my favourite sculptors as his work has so much character. Further, he's done so much work with Reaper, he's like Reaper Family to me. Thank you for looking.
  4. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1835446295/global-defence-forces-15mm-sci-fi-tabletop-miniatu 4 Welcome citizen! The world government has fallen! It falls to us to raise an army to protect and fight for our peace, democracy and freedom! Enlist and support the Global Defence Forces. Join today! At Slap Miniatures we're seeking the funds to hand craft a new range of 15mm (1/100) scale figures, with the retail copies cast as whole finished pieces in high quality pewter. There are two sets of figures on offer, both containing one piece pewter castings of 30 individually posed figures. So with your help in bringing this kickstarter to life there will be 60 uniquely posed figures to choose from. I feel this is important, making every soldier in your table top army look and feel like an individual. The most common soldier in all armies is the humble rifleman, so I've created 30 individually posed riflemen. Furthermore there will also be 30 individually posed 'specialists' to bolster the rifleman. Amongst the specialists there will be 6 different types of soldier armed with differing weaponry. 5 Rocket troopers, 5 Communication troopers, 5 grenadiers, 5 assault troopers, 5 snipers and 5 machine gunners. I've already made 1 of each of the 6 different types of specialists so you can see what they look like, with the rest to be made during the course of the kickstarter. There's also rucksacks available too! Who doesn't like those? Suitable for many 15mm figures I'd just like to explain why I've set the delivery date to July; March: Running the Kickstarter (and attempting to finish specialist figures before the kickstarter is over). April: Will have definitely finished the specialist figures. May: Figures sent off for casting and production. June: Packaging and posting of everyone's pledges. July: A spare month, just in case the moulds don't turn out correctly, figures need remastering or the casters are a little late. As for the Generals pledge, should anyone take one of the three on offer I shouldn't have any difficulty in finishing them when the time comes to ship everyone's pledges. You can probably tell there is a fair bit of leeway for me to finish sending out everyone's rewards. I'd expect to get everything sent out before July. However with the last kickstarter running late I do not wish to dissapoint anyone, including myself
  5. UPDATED: Lands of Ruin is noww live and funded on Kickstarter(see my post further down the thread for more details. Kickstarter link: http://tinyurl.com/zy9x7oq This looks interesting a tabletop game using a tablet/mobile!, it will be launching on Kickstarter on the 19th February "Lands of Ruin is a post-apocalypse, tabletop wargame. However, it is not just another run-of-the-mill clone of every other game on the market. This next generation tabletop game utilises the recent advances in mobile technology to bring a more realistic, faster paced, and deeper gaming experience to the already mature tabletop wargaming genre."* "With the Kickstarter campaign we will produce a line of high quality resin cast 28mm scale miniatures. These 3D sculpts were created by an amazing Romanian sculpter Silvaticus."* "The range of miniatures consists of 6 hero characters. Each hero is accompanied by 3 cohorts. Players will build their own tribes with any combination of heroes by unlocking them to their account. To play the game players will choose (usually) 2 or more heroes from their tribe for a battle and fill in the rest of the team from the cohorts of the selected heroes."* http://landsofruin.com/2016/01/26/lands-of-ruin-kickstarter.html There is also an ambassador program for Lands of Ruin "The Land of Ruin Ambassador Program is a way for us to support, reward and recognise the work our community does helping new players to get started with Lands of Ruin.We are still working to form the exact details of the program, but the goal is to find ways to reward the most active Ambassadors, as well as allow us to directly support the community and any individuals wanting to introduce their local community to Lands of Ruin."* "To join the Ambassador program, start by filling out in the Lands of Ambassador Program Registration form or email Juhani directly at juhani@landsofruin.com. We will get back to you ASAP!"* http://landsofruin.com/2016/01/30/Ambassador_program_announced.html * from the Lands of Ruin website

    FTWIMH: The Port Sarai Resistance

Figures by Critical Mass Games with heads from Reaper and Rebel Miniatures, plus sculpted hair. Shuttles by MegaBloks with substantial modification. Each of these characters represents someone specific in The Worlds in my Head, though I'm not yet sure which is which. Included somewhere in there are Torla, Tirsa and Tipra Dunbar, Tirsa's daughter Alii, and Mora. I give you The Port Sarai Resistance:

    80016 Nick Stone

So finally getting my lazy butt to break out the photo booth..1/5 for the July Challenge. I still find DMM my bane (Should really look into shaded metallics) and this figure is completely, not-at-all spun off of Iron Patriot for the July Theme.
  9. I have started to paint some big 54mm and 1/6 scale minis. To ensure that I get something finished, I will now start to paint a 28mm too. Here is Bonnie Prepped and based for priming.

Lidless Eye Hobbies in the Year 40,000

My most recent painting focus was on some randomish 40k and sci-fi stuff, aimed more at RPGs than wargames. Unfortunately, the crazy heat down here has me tackling my light source, and some shots are better than others. First up are the more individual characters, including a face recently returned to the silver screen:

    The Dino Guy

Hello all! So it's a couple days after ReaperCon, and I had a blast! For my first official after RC, I've chosen to FINALLY paint up the Mounted Dino Rider from Warzone. This was one of the prizes I really wanted to win during the Spaceship Superstar contest put on so generously by Jasper! At any rate, this one should be fast and furious as I want to move on to projects that will push the things I learned at RC. With that said, this prep job took quite a while! LOL! So... nothing super spectacular yet! I should also note that I'm adapting to a Pixel Chromebook, so please excuse any photograph shenanigans that my result! Thanks for looking, and stay tuned for more! -K
  12. So this is the third of 4 TGG minis I've been painting for a friend. I'm a lot more happy with this than the last one. One more to go then I can get back to my own projects.

    KickStarter: "This is WAR!"

Hi Folks, David here, DLD Productions. We have launched out KickStarter, "This is WAR!" to take our existing 15mm futuristic/scif resin vehicles, and convert them over to plastic injection. Why? #1. Cost of the materials for plastic injection is SOOoo much less than resin. #2. Mold life is 500,000+ runs for steel, verses 30-50 runs for rubber. #3. Production times will increase 100 fold! 15 second cyclic rate for plastic injection.....resin, (depending on the weather), 5-10 minute...(that includes trimming off the flash and pour buttons, plus any pre-drilling that is required). #4. Weight of plastic is sooo much less than that of resin castings. (thinking....shipping.....carrying the army around.....etc..) #5. No more resin mess, miss-cast parts (wasted money and materials)..... So, there you go....this is something we have wanted to do in the past. We would like very much to see our 15mm line in plastic injection.....AND if this goes well, we will start on the 28mm kits as well.......ooohhh......the Albatross Dropship......in plastic.....yum! Have a look around....take a look at our gameplay video......and we will see you on the battlefield! https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/427645199/this-is-war-0?ref=nav_search Thanks! David
  14. So... I've finally gotten started on the ReaperCon theme entry for 2015. This is where we are and well... It's a mess. LOL! I've got quite a bit of work to do, not including painting. This project is largely experimental and we'll have to see where it goes.... Hmmm....

  16. Hi everyone, I just wanted to let you know that we have launched a little Kickstarter project for some sci-fi robot models. These were actually the first models we ever made, but we never really did anything with them, and now we'd like to get production moulds made for them. So, if they look like the sort of thing you'd be interested in, take a look here: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/oathsworn/oathsworn-miniatures-sci-fi-wargames-robots Thanks! Michael

    Legions of Steel Superfortress

Here's an individual WIP of an idea I had, upon realizing I had excess Blasters for my Mechadrome mechs. The original Superfortress looks gnarly but is heavily outfitted for anti-vehicle firepower. Most 28mm combat is more about infantry, or at most, many infantry and a handful of vehicles. I recalled having another, and set about making an anti-infantry version that visually blended the Mechadrome and original LOS aesthetics; as a bonus this leaves me with a BFG laser to stick on, say, a Rhino, in order to have an in-theme IFV/APC. I stuck the legs on with huge amounts of automotive epoxy putty and some superglue; the bottom detailing is hollow, which you really never see on the table, and the legs fit up into the body cavity. (Huge amounts = two small blobs). Then I Devcon'd his feet to this Basix MDF base, just to be sure. Here he is near a fully assembled, based, shaded, but incompletely painted twin. As you can see, I have, with a combo of big pins, Devcon, and aforementioned putty, plus some superglue to make sure the putty grabbed, mounted one of the BFGs in place of the disposable 2-shot missile pack of the standard variant. (Like the standard variant, I have lost this guy's chin gun.)

  19. Hello everybody. While I am waiting (and waiting... and waiting) for my minis for the Here be Dragons! Diorama, I started working on my Infinity minis. Now, the idea is to get back into gaming, and also to pull back into the hobby my wife, my brother and my best friend. I started working on the minis, but then got caught up with making a nice looking table. I got inspired by the internet, but a lot by Dadcube's recent thread (here!). Scratchbuilding terrain (and stuff, in general) has always been a passion for me. I cannot match the great paintjobs out there, but I can build nice looking stuff that looks great, because it is original and one-of-a-kind :) After some weeks working on it, I thought I would share. Perhaps this can inspire some of you, and feel free to also share ideas and tips. All pics are from my cellphone and under yellow, household light. Sorry :/ Another note: I work with centimeters. If you need to do a conversion, think that an inch is about 2.5cm So 25cm = 10 inches, and 1 meter = 100 cm = 40 inches (I know this is off and only for you to get rough measures). We started thinking about a 1.2x1.2m board. This board would be made out of 16 30x30cm pieces that could be arranged in different dispositions. These will include streets, modelled in the middle of the pieces. This is a sketch I made on a little piece of paper to share with my friend over the phone: The "theme" of the board will be futuristic-clean-oriental. If you are familiar with the Infinity background, we are thinking about making this with touches of YuJing, sorta like a merge of ultra-modern Japan and touches of cultural China. We will see where this takes us... The board: Being in Argentina we don't have a lot of materials available; or at least no big stores like Michaels, or hobby stores. This means we have to use our creativity to find stuff that works! That being said, my friend works in design so he is familiar with a lot of materials and techniques. He suggested a certain foam type that is dense... upon inspection I believe this is very similar if not the same that is used in the US for insulation. It is called "Polifan" foam here, and is used to carve out letter for signs, 3D logos, etc. I got a 60x100cm board for about 10USD. The minimum thickness is 2cm. We cut the 16 squares out of this foam board. We also got some plasticard for later detailing (probably the most expensive thing yet). I also got a big plank of "grey cardboard" as it is called here; it is the kind of stuff architecture students use here for their scale models. Cardboard plus some supplies (white glue, craft paints and clear acetate sheets*) can be seen here: * the clear sheets, intended for windows and stuff, is actually a pack of "clear plastic A4 covers" that was laying around the office; they used it as a clear cover when spiral-binding reports. I don't think they will miss one pack, plus they haven't bound reports in a lot time with PDFs now). (next post with more!)
  20. Antenociti's Workshop have announced on their Facebook page that they are planning to launch a kickstarter in early 2014 for 28mm scifi resin scenery, mdf structures, vehicles, and figures. https://www.facebook.com/permalink.php?story_fbid=592884427415869&id=153539898016993 The sweet spot is expected to be £100 and represent about a 50% saving off retail to start. I don't own any of Antenociti's stuff... Yet, but I am waiting on pieces that they contributed to Mantics Deadzone and Mars Attacks kickstarters. The photos I've seen of their previous offerings looks great and all reviews I've read and watched on their products have been very positive. I believe this is going to be one of those "can't afford to miss" kickstarters. There have been requests for them to include fantasy and modern day lines, but so far Antenociti has stated scifi only. EDIT: link added.
  21. Hello. My name is Joaquim and this is my first post in this forum, althought I've been lurking here for quite a while. I'm from Portugal and I've been playing Warlord for some time now. I love wild west games and I've played a few but I always flet that they lacked something. I read Cowboys & Gunslingers and I was drawn to it instantly. But I had to add some details that I think that belong to this particular system. Some s abilities and the Leader and Troops rules. I've played twice since and it worked pretty well. Please let me know your oppinion about it. Abilities Leader A leader can lead troops (0-3) (0-5) (0-8) and add +1 to their DIS. Horse Ride A model can ride a Horse. The stats are the same. MOVE becomes always 9. It adds 1 to his DV and substracts 1 to his RAV while in the back of a Horse. It takes one action to mount and dismount. Born in a Saddle The figure is complete at ease when mounted in a Horse. It doesn't subtract to his RAV and mounts and dismounts as a free action. Fast Draw When firing or making a Defensive Shot, this model strikes first. The damage it makes will be done before the adversary fires. Troops Cowboys Rank: Troop DT: 0/1 Move: 5/4 DIS: 6/5 DV: 8/7 EXP: 2/1 SA: Tough/1, Born in a Saddle MAV: 3/2 #MA: 2 RAV: 4/2 #RA: 1 SA: Rng(4), Ammo/12, Reload/2 or Rng(12), Ammo/15, Reload/2 Gunslingers Rank: Troop DT: 0/1 Move: 5/4 DIS: 6/5 DV: 9/8 EXP: 2/1 SA: Tough/1 MAV: 3/2 #MA: 2 RAV: 4/3 #RA: 2 SA: Rng(4), Ammo/12, Reload/2 or RAV: 4/3 #RA: 1 Rng(12), Ammo/15, Reload/2 Outlaws Rank: Troop DT: 0/1 Move: 5/4 DIS: 5/4 DV: 9/8 EXP: 2/1 SA: Tough/1 MAV: 4/3 #MA: 2 SA: Bloodlust RAV: 4/3 #RA: 2 SA: Rng(4), Ammo/12, Reload/2 or RAV: 4/3 #RA: 1 Rng(12), Ammo/15, Reload/2 Deputies Rank: Troop DT: 0/1 Move: 5/4 DIS: 6/5 DV: 9/8 EXP: 3/2 SA: Tough/2 MAV: 4/3 #MA: 2 RAV: 4/3 #RA: 2 SA: Rng(4), Ammo/12, Reload/2, Disarm or RAV: 4/3 #RA: 1 Rng(12), Ammo/15, Reload/2, Disarm Rangers Rank: Troop DT: 0/1 Move: 6/5 DIS: 7/6 DV: 9/8 EXP: 3/2 SA: Tough/2, Ranger/4 MAV: 4/3 #MA: 2 RAV: 4/3 #RA: 2 SA: Rng(4), Ammo/12, Reload/2, Disarm or RAV: 4/3 #RA: 1 Rng(12), Ammo/15, Reload/2, Disarm And that's it for the Cowboys and Gunslingers for now. As for Galactic Warlord ;) I've been struggling with scifi weapons and abilities. I'd like to have your ideas on this. Not weapon ranges, or special abilities, but modifiers to RAV. Should RAV be only accounted on the figures capacity or weapons should modify this? Thanks in advance and a Happy New Year for you all.
