  1. Fortune Teller tent & vignette. This is the (1st) of 7 vignette pieces that will make up the traveling Gypsy market. It is complete except for the base edge ground cover work & the final seal spray of the whole vignette piece...The piece is a (4"x6") vignette built on ceiling tile.
  2. Hi Dibbler...Here are my basic, simple and generic fantasy terrain pieces. On these, I do nothing fancy or no real detail work...We play on a 4x8 table top board that is dark forest green in color...the terrain pieces are placed as designed for the given adventure and/or encounter...everything between the pieces is considered flat green meadow type terrain with no cover & 100% clear (LOS) visibility...Pictured are; 1. Solo shot of ruined building...(I have 5 such boards with varied ruined aspects)... 2. Shot of 4 ruined buildings together to form a sort of ruins complex... 3. Shot of generic terrain pieces of varied sizes & shapes...(I have 30 such pieces and another 12 that are total foliage covered)... 4. Shot of 1 of my generic hills...(this is Fire Hill = View #1)...(I have 6 such hill pieces)... 5. Shot of (Fire Hill = View #2)... So as I said...I do detailed work on projects that deal with my home shire/town...but the rest is basic non-detail generic material and fantasy terrain pieces.
  3. Although I have been absent from posting the past week or so; my chubby little fingers have been busy on some odds & ends that will be featured in the Gypsy Camp vignettes tabletop game play terrain. Posted are the following (WIP); 1. Road & sign to the Gypsy Camp (as you can see; built on ceiling tile...as are 98% of my pieces)... 2. Beer wagon vignette (beer wagon, meat roasting on spit, wood pile for fire, table for eats & drinks)...all these will be in a vignette setting base... 3. Main kiosk board that will be featured outside of the main gypsy wagon on a vignette setting base... 4. Kiosk board that will be outside of the fortune teller tent on a vignette base... 5. Kiosk board that will be outside of the tarot card reader tent on a vignette base... 6. Kiosk board that will be outside of the Gilded Lily tent on a vignette base... NOTE: The beer wagon is completely scratch built (except for the barrel)...the wheels are the ends from spools of thread.
  4. Having decided to construct my farmers market & renaissance fair open air booths as vignette gaming pieces; listed below is my (new) projects check list...each to be built as a standoff vignette piece...This should keep me busy for most of this summer. I will post these as they are completed. 1. Sign (Livestock Pens)... 2. Sign (Privies)... 3. Sign (Gypsy Camp)... 4. Entrance arch & billboard... 5. Beer & Sausage booth... 6. Rugs & Fabrics booth... 7. Potions, Lotions, Herbs & Candles booth... 8. Curio Shop booth... 9. Produce Market booth... 10. Weapons booth... 11. Kissing booth... 12. Puppet Show booth... 13. Scribe booth... 14. Small Dancer stage... 15. Eve's Garden booth... 16. Small Art Gallery Display booth... 17. Guard Shack... 18. Bread, Cheese, Turkey Legs & Ribs booth...w/lg side table... 19. Exotic Birds booth... 20. 2 Door Privy... 21. Livestock Pens...
  5. This is booth (#15) for my farmers market & renaissance fair tabletop (RPG) game board. What is unique about this booth is that except for the scale lumber used for the table & signs...everything in/on this booth is paper product...selected, scaled & cut to the size needed. 15. Leather Armor & Ladies Intimates table/booth...
  6. This is the scribe booth (letter & message writer)...this is the last booth in my open air farmers market & renaissance fair table top board for my shire/town. It has been a long month of steady daily work...but they are all done. The next step in this project will be additional interior details to some of the booths...varied signs of an appropriate nature for varied booths...standards & pennants for most of the booths. Once that is done; I am taking a rest from this project before I start the work on the actual base that all these booths will be attached to. I hope that all the members who have followed me through this project...from the suggested idea & concept from Daesc Zacal to this last booth posting and have enjoyed some of my endeavors. Thank you for all your ideas & suggestions.
  7. This is a quick followup to the (raw privy) building that I posted a couple of days ago...Here it is fully stained & painted, I made the roof removable so that I can insert the figure (when I get the right one) sitting on the throne.
  8. These are the postings of 3 additional booths for my farmers market & renaissance fair table top (RPG) game board. We are getting close to the end; with only 2 booths left to build for the master board...Pictured here are as follows: Shots 1 & 2 Deputy Constable shack...the guard on the grounds... Shots 3 & 4 Exotic birds booth... Shots 5 & 6 Bread/cheese/brown eggs booth... Shots 7 & 8 Annex table (meat pies/cheese/turkey legs/ribs)... Shot 9 Booth & table together (as they will look on the master board)... All that is left to do on these (as all the other completed booths) are selected signs & standards.
  9. I decided to take a break from the tedium of building the booths for the farmers market & renaissance fair board...so I started working on the live stock pens. This is a standoff piece to/from the large fair board...it is a (10" x 10") little gem built on ceiling tile (as you can see). What you see is 3 days of scale detail work. All the tools (two man saw, axe, shovel, hoe, 3 prong hay fork)...the barrels & wooden box...mushrooms...are all scratchbuilt! The 3 pigs are (Airfix)...the 2 white geese are (Airfix)...the large grey goose is (Mega)...The ground cover is my own mix. (FUTURE NOTE)...The privy will be another standoff piece to/from the large fair board and will be about the same size. SPECIAL NOTE...I want to wish all my fantasy miniature painter friends and RPG players and the staff of this website a safe and festive Memorial Day holiday and to all of you veterans out there...Thank you!
  10. Just some quick update postings of booths (WIP)...on the farmers market & renaissance fair project...posted are: 1. Puppet Show booth (current status)... 2. Large Art Gallery booth (current status)...wizard painting mounted... 3. Large Art Gallery booth (current status)...fairy & unicorn painting mounted... 4-5-6. Live pig pen...(current status)...missing sign (pigs for sale)...
  11. Hi Pingo! As promised, here is the raw (puppet show) booth...from your suggestion...to my art draft ideas...to the final raw execution...I think it will look very nice once it is completed! Again thanks for the idea!!! Also pictured is (1) of the (2) open air (art gallery) booths that will be on the farmers market & renaissance fair tabletop game board...The booth will feature (8) fantasy related framed paintings (pictures)...(4) to each side. The paintings featured are just to show the general appearance of what it will look like (the shown paintings may or may not be the ones selected for final placement). The booth is still in raw stage with only the 1st stain application...still some work left to do with dry brush, inks and pastels...But it gives you the idea! Booth #2 will be a smaller version that will feature (4) paintings...(2) on each side!...(Yet to be built).
  12. Posted are booth #5 (Valiant Arms), a small weapons booth & booth #6 (Kissing Booth)...also posted is a small wooden stage for the required dancing girls at such an open air event. All are part of my farmers market & renaissance fair tabletop (RPG) game board for the shire. Left to do are the addition of selected signs & standards. A member asked me to add a miniature figure to the posting of my booths...so that is the reason for the miniature figures in the photos.
  13. This is booth #5 of my open air farmers market & renaissance fair (RPG) tabletop game board...it is the (Curio Shoppe = Nick Nack Nook). The booth & boxes are all scratch built...everything was used in the creation of this boot...beads (glass & wooden), real fabric, jewelry findings, N-scale nude railroad figures to make the bronze statues, a real fire opal gemstone (just to the left of the cross)...etc. The most tedious part of working on this piece was the critical placement of each and every item so that it/they complement each other...show but obscure each other enough to make it look like " organized chaos "...as you might see at a yard sale or thrift shop today. There are a couple of other items that will be placed (after I get the awning in place)...left to do (awning cover, selected signs, standard & items after awning is in place). PLEASE ADVISE...This is the 5th booth that I have featured/posted; if it has gotten too monotonous...please advise me and I will stop posting the booths from this project...thank you!
  14. Hi Darsc Zacal! I have started construction on the (Open Air - Farmers Market & Renaissance Fair) shire game board for my (RPG) tabletop game. These are booths #1 & #2...so this is my project for the month of May. Maybe a bit longer (since at my age, I don't work as fast as I used to)! There will be around (8) such booths of varied designs (all about the same size - scale wise being about 9'x4'). All are scratch built using (Camino & Superior) scale lumber (hard wood/not balsa). The most difficult part for all the booths will be the filling of the booths with the proper items for that booth (in the proper aprox. scale)...The last photo shows the size of the booths in relation to a standard (Reaper) figure. Looking for feedback when you have the chance and time.
