Official WOOF's cry for help.. Lately I've been using several water effects on larger pieces. This worked quite well, but I still had the problem of the stuff leaking. Now I want to create a water effect portion on a larger oval or round base. A mini will sit on a rock and there will be water around it with some marine life in it. Now my main problem here is, how to seal that base so I can pour resin without leaking? What do you use to prevent it? Is there some material I can buy/use to enclose a round/oval base to do this? I own several types of water effects, that's not the issue. The issue is preventing leakage so it won't ruin the base in the end. Anyone has experience with this?

So I'm going to be making a diorama for a friend soon. I have a pretty solid idea of what I want to do but no idea how to go about it. I've never worked with cork before and am going to be using quite a bit of it. I want to pour water effects(?) into it but don't want the cork to soak it up. My questions are (photos to be added below for reference): How do I seal the cork so it won't absorb the resin water effects? Do I need to seal the wood I am basing it on as well? If so what is the best way to do that? What is the best glue to put the cork on the wood, sealed or not? ETA: How do I fix the small hairline cracks in the cork (not sure if they're visible in the picture)? Kind of related but what is the best glue for plastic to wood (I'm going to be putting the wood on top of a painted Tropicana lid)?

I'm planning to test some different ways of varnishing Bones, since there is some confusion and some materials seem to dry sticky, or turn sticky after some time. This is going to be a long-term experiment because of the aforementioned change over time. I have a dozen rats and five mummies from the first two Bones Kickstarters which I have painted up in colors known for their shininess (the blacks and reds on the rats) and their matte qualities (the grey bases and the linen color on the mummies). These are super quick paints, just there to test the results. Once they are fully cured I plan to number them under their bases and experiment with different combinations of matte and gloss finish, including at least one unvarnished of each type. I plan to report back after some time has passed.
