  2. I'm a big fan of JRPGs, and one of the things that I started doing right after I started painting up chibi miniatures was convert them to match some of my favorite characters. Here is a party of Light Warriors from the very first Final Fantasy game. Only the White Mage has been converted- for each of the others, there was a Super Dungeon mini that just worked for it. I intend to finish out the set with the last two classes. The Black Mage mini is part of the Super Dungeon Legends kickstarter, while the Red Mage will have to be converted. It is undisputed that you ne
  3. I haven't posted anything in a while now, but I have been painting quite a bit. Unfortunately I just haven't been able to get good pictures lately. I think it might be because I finished my hobby room now take pictures downstairs in the basement with less natural light. Sadly It means I had to abandon my dungeon setting for pictures and go to regular photo back grounds, But at least I now have a set up that works for taking pictures now. So I'll be playing catch up for little while with posting some things I've gotten done lately. So With out further ado, this was my Gencon MHE co
  4. Here are two minis that I really love. I love how the Super Dungeon Explore setting has the princesses as the prophesied heroes that will eventually overcome the dark lord. No waiting around to be rescued for them. Princess Emerald is really full of character. I love the steampunk feel she has. I chose a color scheme based on her namesake. I'm planning on doing this with the other princesses as they come out. This Princess Ruby is a re-sculpt. To be fair, I was quite fond of the original sculpt for Princess Ruby, but I recognize that as the style of Super Dungeon Explore e
  5. I must admit that I have quite a fondness for things that are at once creepy and cute. That makes the Grabby House the perfect spawn point in Super Dungeon Explore It turns out I have a bit of experience painting zombies. I went with a different skin tone for each of them. I also added a little touch at the end with some gloss (to make the cuts seem more fresh.

  7. These are some trolls from Super Dungeon Explore (the Mistmourn Coast Warband). As with most of my own Super Dungeon set, I painted each one in its own color scheme. The yellow troll colors I chose because they match the trolls from Fantasy Forest. Fantasy Forest is an old TSR game I played when I was five- it is basically like Candy Land except that you get ambushed by orcs and kobolds along the way. The spawn point was just perfectly designed for an OSL effect, so I had to go that direction with it:
  8. Way back when Relic Knights was being Kickstarted, Sodapop miniatures introduced crossover characters for their already successful Super Dungeon Explore. I painted this guy up just a little while ago, but now, with the release of Ninja All Stars, I think he would fit nicely into a Ninja Themed Super Dungeon game. I went with a very controlled color pallet- keep a strong sense of light and dark among the purple, with a strongly contrasting NMM gold. I think the pallet worked well on him.
  9. Gabe here is my version of the Penny Arcade Relic Knights crossover character. Did you buy more merch?
  10. A friend asked me to paint his Malya. No pressure. It's only his Relic Knight. Life made it take a lot longer to get done than it should have, but here she is. Thanks for looking! EDIT: Sorry, Mr. Tomn. I didn't leave you out on purpose. I especially didn't leave you out because you have all of a toe down for your base to attach too. No. Not for that at all.
  11. Well, I've ended up getting a lot more fireflow denizens than I ever anticipated I would. My wife painted the first two sets of fire gels (they're so cute, she couldn't help herself) but I got to paint the third set. Naturally, all of the more normal ideas were taken (you know, painting them as if they were some kind of fire, maybe even different colored fires). So I took an evening, and put on some Doctor who and here's what I ended up with.
  12. Here is my Austrican (from Relic Knights). I really love this mini- very characterful. I was glad at the harsh lines on his face- that gave me plenty of room to make high contrast areas across his face. Otherwise, this color scheme is designed to match the Sebastian Cross I did before. I also posted him to Coolmini for anyone who cares to vote.
  13. This is a mini I decided to enter into Starship Superstar. She is the plastic version of One Shot from Relic Knights. Don't know that there's a whole lot else to say, so here are a pic:
  14. I recently painted up King Starfire. He's a leveled up version of the boss dragon from the core set- and he's a pretty sizeable mini. I rather enjoyed painting him up, and I felt that the starscape worked very well on him. I used a simpler version of the starscape patterns on the original Starfire's wings, so I felt it appropriate to give this Starfire a more elaborate version. The dead knight on his base was a nice touch. He's simply huge for Super Dungeon, but we played with him the other day, and he's tall enough that the other characters can stand at his base without any issu
  15. Well, I've been spending quite a bit of my hobby time with Super Dungeon Explore minis, and I've got a few more to show off. My wife painted up her coven witch and skull bats first, so I felt that I needed to come up with something different for them. I decided that I preferred to freehand the stars and moon on her hat, and here is the result:
  16. Well, here are a few of the Super Dungeon minis that I've painted for my own set. I decided to start out with the ones that have clear references for them: For the Deeproot scout I went with a 'Deepoot scout to the past' color scheme. Pre time traveling ocarina. Super Starguild Sapper (I have a second one to paint up in green) And I decided to go with a Richter Van Wilding color scheme on the last one: Who wouldn't be complete without his shapeshift: And last of all- I decided to just ditch the reference all together for my Princess Ruby. That's because we have a secon
  17. Since it appears that I am incapable of organising myself enough to put together any kind of WIP thread, I'll just put my mini progress for this month in one place. Its been a milestone month for me, I don't think I have got this amount of painting done since my student days when I had all the time in the world. Mostly now its done in a couple of hours between my wife going to bed with my 3 month old son and when my eyes can't stay open anymore First up I finally got around to finishing the Grenadier Spectral Dragon 2 that I managed to pick up from Ebay for £5. There was a lot of fil
  18. General nudity warning... Don't scroll down if it offends you Soda Pop minis has a game, which this figure is part of. I don't really have the time for any more games but I do like to paint figures. So, here's the fourth figure I got finished over the holiday. Soda Pop's "Zineda": <edit: lighting adjusted>
