If any of you have looked at the Hero forge interesting creature builds you may recall me posting some pictures of a squad of commandos called Crusader squad. Let’s just say I succumbed to the temptation to get the stls for my printer. Currently I only have four printed off. I’ll do the rest when I get them supported. Bombedier Shadow, I didn’t get his arms supported right so I’ll try to do some repairs to them. If it works I don’t think I’ll print a replacement. Thunderhead Max Monova. I really didn’t like his original stance so I redid it and gave him two pistols instead of a pistol and gauntlet blade. Primer Added some black green and some blue to Monova’s pauldron. Thanks for looking!

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/reclusivephoenix/slumbering-oblivion-iii-hades-rising Coming off the heels of two successful Kickstarters, Reclusive Phoenix is happy to announce our third project. This is the second project in our Slumbering Oblivion 32mm scale game line and the aim is to produce the human armies to face off against the forces of Cthulhu. The human army is known as H.A.D.E.S. (Human Alliance in Defense of Earth and Sea) and is under the command of the new human alliance called the Aligned Nations of Earth. TL:DR / The Short Story We are trying to fund the human army miniatures for our upcoming Slumbering Oblivion 32mm scale tabletop war-game. The initial goal is to fund the creation of a 5 model unit manufactured out of resin. The more funds we raise, the more units and models we will produce and the quicker the game will come to fruition. This is also an EU friendly campaign in the sense that shipping will be fulfilled from US and UK locations which should help cut down on additional taxes and fees for international backers. Four of the First Five Miniatures H.A.T.E. Trooper - Gustav I backed their first KS for cthuloid monsters and it was excellent and delivered without issue, the second for the Giant Cthulhu also appeared to go well so if you like the look of these they're probably a safe bet

When my first present - please check here ->Let's present a ... present! Owl Mage<- was received pretty well by our female colleage, my boss asked me to do more. This time the task was to make a present for another colleague who left us. As he was in the military and also is a passionate diver, I thought of something military. What would be a better fit than German combat divers (Kampfschwimmer)? Luckily I found a bunch of German frogmen miniatures and ordered them immediately. When I told my boss what I had in mind, she asked me to include the following elements: 1st: Frogmen 2nd: An owl (of course) 3rd: an exit 4th: a sign that links the colleague to our work. Everything else was free for me to develop. As Frogmen often use beaches to infiltrate or exfiltrate an area, the overall idea was to create a beach setting. So I went down to the beach, spent some hours there swimming, enjoying the sun and making sketches, until I finally had an idea what I wanted the diorama to be like. The owl should be sitting on a sign that warned of mines - but instead of a mines warning there should be an inside joke written on the board we often did at work. The exit should be between two dunes and be marked by another sign. And the Kampfschwimmer unit should be astonished by what they witnessed. So I started painting the combat divers. After that I assembled the owl, used plastic styrene to cut out two signs, assembled them an started painting. Still I had one problem - the showcase I ordered ... *chuckles* didn't show up. That sounds funny at the moment but should be a problem later on. And as I was doing a second diorama at the same time, the pressure increased ... *Insert creepy music here*

These are frostgrave soldiers. I like these minis; although they're plastic they have good detail. And each solider is put together using one of the many options available in terms of heads, bodies, arms, and weaponry. Coming up with a viable color palette took me longer than I'd like to admit. Given the rag-tag nature of this band, I wanted to show both variety and cohesion. Still WIP; lots of things to finalize tweak. But I'm relatively happy with the effort. (My favorite thing is the cowboy hat; I used a soft orange with a wash - which made it look like new leather.)

Finally finished my 28 Anhurian project! I think I started these guys months ago. First step was to use the Basius stamp "Imperial". I cut them all out of their broccoli, and made cobblestone bases out of milliput from the basius stamp. I left little bits of plastic underneath their feet that would act like tiny pins. So they are pretty stable but I think it was partly from having that extra bit of broccoli underneath their feat and then sticking them into the milliput while it was still drying. They are all different colored sets to make it easier to distinguish on the battle mat. I also decided to give them unique symbols for their shields based on their clothing color of their regimen. Thanks for reading, I am glad to finally have these guys done! They make great town guardsmen / generic NPCs on the battle mat. Didn't figure photos of each 28 back and front was needed, so here's just a few photos to get an idea.

My first thoughts on painting the minis: If you start masspainting your Mars Attacks and want do it fast. I have for example 40 human soldiers to paint. I think it is possible with this method to have them all completed in 4-8 hours, eventuall even with highlights. Preparing the minis: 0. if possible train painting on a few metal minis, not necessary, but helpful. 1. wash the minis. Use Soapy water, I use normally a fat solvent spray. 2. use a primer, I would use white primer, but black or grey is ok, too Don't use to much, you should be still able to see the details. With a double-sided tape and a card board, you can prime many minis together. 3. I try to get all paints together I want to use on the minis before I start to paint, so I do not need to search after it. If you need later to remove paint and you can get 'Simple Green' it is normally perfect to remove paint from plastic minis (test it first on one mini!!!) Description for human soldiers, but it works also on every martian grunt, marines and other uniformed group. Masspainting: 1. Do ten minis in a row or more, but for me are more than ten minis at the same time not good. 2. put first the base coat of colors on the minis, but only one color on every mini after another. As example for the soldiers: 2.1 uniform mini 1, uniform mini 2, .... uniform mini 10 2.2 webbing mini 1, webbing mini 2, .... webbing mini 10 2.3 gloves, gloves, gloves 2.x and so on. 3. same with the camouflage always one paint of the camouflage on every mini's uniform, before you start with the next Camouflage paint 4. ignore or do the highlights, if you want Use of Army Painters Quickshade (QS) 1. get white spirit and an old brush before you start! 2. put army painter quickshade on 10 minis with a old brush on every mini. Don't dip! 3. start over in the same order as you put QS on the minis, and remove QS from places where is to much QS on the minis. 4. do step 2-3 until all have QS on them... 5. clean the brush immediately with white spirit!!! 6. QS must try 24 hours!!! Even if you can touch it, don't proceed with the mini! 7. eventually think about highlights and error corrections, before you put matte varnish on the mini. AND: 1. Eventually think about which colors you are using during these steps on the heroes of greenville. Prepare them, too. If you use black while doing masspainting and want the jacked of one mini black, do this or these minis, too!!! 2. if you want to remove errors before putting QS on them , do it after all minis of the same type are painted 3. Ignore small painting errors, you can remove visible ones later before you put QS on them. Small errors are sometimes not visible after quickshading and if they are still visible, you can remove them after the QS easily. Here you can get a tutorial for woodland MARPAT for the soldiers the base coat looks little bright, I think it is the camera, I don't think the color is really sooo yellow! I had already some thoughts about Martian Minis: (standard Grunts, including freeze ray and unit commander) 1. white primer 2. complete body: Vallejo 72.024 Turquoise 3. boots and gloves: green (unit commander: Vallejo 72.007 Gold Yellow) (not sure which vallejo color I will use, eventually I must mix greens or buy a new one) 4. Brain: Vallejo 72148 Heavy Warm Grey, eventually later Reaper MSP Brains Pink as highlight, a wash (sepia?) as last step. 5. face: vallejo 72,035 dead flesh is my favorite in the moment 6. Option 1: weapon and some body part: black, highlight with Vallejo 72.050 Cold Grey Option 1: Or I use Black, VMC gun metal grey and silver as highlights 7. Gas Bottle: Vallejo 72.012 Scarlet Red 8. few smaller details... I think the martians are very fast to paint. !!! Do eventually the head and face in step 4.-5. on every martian mini at once. I'm waiting for the MA minis in the moment, too! :-(
