  1. So i've got that trio of spiders from nolzur's. They do not come with sculpted bases - unlike most of the nolzur's line. This isn't a huge issue, except that these suckers have a bunch of tiny spindly legs. I am worried about getting a good hold. So I have a few questions: 1: how to fasten these guys to a base? Just glue the legs and hope, or pin them through the body like a flightstand? 2: how to sculpt/or assemble, suitable bases to compliment their spindly nature and ensure a better hold. 3: how to attach the spider in a way that
  2. My photography has really been sub par for some time so I am trying out som different settings on the camera, including changing the backdrop to try to find a setting that works better than before. Focus is key, deep focus is even more key. I think I might just have cracked it. At least for now. Just some incy wincy spiders today, the pack called "spiders" from Nolzur's Marvellous Miniatures. The dark background has it's uses, but did not really work for these models. #1 #2 #3 These spiders are a little bit
  3. Am getting into the new Frostgrave based game "Rangers of Shadow Deep". The spiders are the smaller Reaper Bones spiders. The rats are from Black Tree Design, and the zombie is an old Grenadier miniature by Mark Copplestone that I brought from EM4. All basic paint jobs, tried to have a bit of a lighter pallette on the spiders in particular, and wanted to make sure they could be used for Frostgrave as well.
  4. These were a quick and easy paint, and I went for a realistic tone to match the sculpts. The victim pile is supposed to be a base element for them, but I decided to keep it seperate as a scenery piece. The shinyness on the fellow in the back is due to the black wash not being entirely dry when I took the pic.
  5. Lotsa colours! Grey one is dark elf triad, red and orange is HD Crimson, garnet, brilliant reds plus fireball orange and pale saffron. Gross white one is AP necrotic flesh, msp linen white, HD solid white, and HD blue flame. Crazy bioluminescent one is msp imperial purple, P3 beaten purple, AP alien purple, HD spruce green and P3 Arcane blue. Bases are reaper kickstarter round bases with pumice gel, some Browns and a light dusting of bone.
  6. I've barely made a dent in my Bones 2. This makes 20 out of the lot complete when I add the mummies and ghouls I finished earlier this year. At the very least I'll have painting projects for the next year or three! I worked on this batch over the course of 4 Pathfinder sessions. :) It's fun to paint while roleplaying!
  7. Hey all. I'm new to these boards. Been wargaming since mage knight and got into the craft part of it about a year ago. I play GW LOTR SBG, but my friend and i have started buying Reaper minis to make our own characters. (I also started using Reaper paints after i got tired of GW's paints) I have a few questions about some of the monsters that Reaper makes. 1) I've wanted to get some spiders. Hows the scale compared to that of GW? The giant spiders seem like a match to theirs. 2) Are there any Reaper Dragons or Trolls that fit the scale? Thanks for answering to those who
