  1. A practitioner of the obscure art of Mirror Magic, by capturing a person's reflection in her mirror she can look into their mind and conjure up what she sees. For years she used this talent to entertain the idle rich and now works for the Hedonist Society, giving its members a safer method for creating new experiences. It is not just a party trick however, in combat Polyxeni can use her mirror to delve deep into the darkest recesses of her opponent and confront them with their greatest fears. Presenting Polyxeni (AKA a Shardspeaker of Slaanesh), a mage from the game Warhammer:- Age of Sigmar by Games Workshop. Been working on this one on and off for a while (I've had to repaint bits of her danged cape so many times), but I'm pretty pleased with the end results, still gotta practice more with my gems and orbs though! As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  2. Here are some minis from the Bones Kickstarter V campaign. After Christmas, I was finally able to get some paint on some minis, and have a productive month. #1003 #1013. I love the expression on this guy. It looks like he's not impressed by whatever he's hearing. #1026. I tried a different recipe for painting his red cloak. I like how it turned out.
  3. Here is the last one from my January painting. This is the Father Christmas freebie, #1589. I got him in 2021, and finally got around to painting him. I wonder if that scroll in the case at his back is this year's version of The List?
  4. Hi all! How do you do? It's been a while since I last shared a mini here. I recently converted and painted one for my egyptian-themed Frostgrave warband. Since the mini depicts a woman with bare breasts, I am supposed -as per the forum rules- to post links to the pictures instead of displaying them directly in the post. So consider this topic slightly NSFW. To begin with, here is the mini I started with: https://www.reapermini.com/search/yanara https://legolemquireve.files.wordpress.com/2022/01/p1090389.jpg For the conversion, here's what I did: Sawed the head off. A brutal surgery but a necessary one. [picture] Replaced the head with a bald one from Statuesque Miniatures. [picture] Filed off the remaining hair with a Dremmel power tool. [picture] Filed off the belt decoration and replace it with an Ankh cross. Resculpted the piece of fur on her shoulders and upper back. Cut off the top of her staff and replace it with an egyptian staff decoration (a double ostrich feather ornament) The result after the conversion: https://legolemquireve.files.wordpress.com/2022/06/p1090830.jpg After priming in off-white: https://legolemquireve.files.wordpress.com/2022/06/p1090832.jpg And finally, the painted mini: [Front Picture] / [Side Picture 1] / [Side Picture 2] / [Back Picture] / [Close-up Picture] If you want to see the pictures directly, you may visit my blog post (although it's written in french): https://legolemquireve.wordpress.com/2022/06/29/sandgrave-djesa-la-thaumaturge/
  5. Hello All, Here is a recently completed 77054 "Galladon, Human Wizard". I did have to make changes to the staff. I could not straighten it out by any means to my satisfaction. So, I cut off the original staff, drilled a hole in his hand and replaced the Bones bendy plastic staff with a brass rod. I cut off the bottom and top of the plastic staff, pinned the parts to the brass rod and there you go. Thank you for looking.
  6. Hi all! How do you do? My latest painted character: This sorceress lady will be used someday in the future for games of Frostgrave. Here she is with the rest of her warband:
  7. From about 5-10 years ago. Great sculpt, except that staff is thin and fragile as all get out. Base is a bit meh, I think I should have stippled in a bit more texture, and more color gradation (reds in shadows?), for more interesting stone. .
  8. I painted up this one as my daughter's PC. Her character is a female dwarf druid. I looked through the whole Reaper catalog and didn't find any of that sort. However I did find Valana. She had a huge hammer. Druids don't like metal all that much so the hammerhead could go, and the handle could become a short staff. She looks more like the description already. The brief given was " Caucasian skin tone, black hair and she wears green clothes". This is the result. Any comment or advise is encouraged and welcome. Admittedly, not everything went as planned in the final stages, but I still think it is good enough for a gaming piece.
  9. This has been a WIP on my desk for far too long. I tried some things that didn't work, repainted her, got some advice, repainted her, didn't like the way it looked, repainted her... realized I just had to stop before I really ruined it.
  10. Presenting Lysette, a mage from the Bones USA line by Reaper. Started on this one back in January, but got stuck on her dress so she spent a while in the Cupboard Of Unfinished Things. Unfortunately, my camera doesn't like her sky blue hair and it's really blown the colours out, she looks a tad better in hand. As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  11. Hello everyone, I completed this model last night. 14124 Kevis the Overlords Mage was sculpted by Chaz Elliott. This guy will be an evil evoker NPC in a campaign I'll be running.
  12. Hello everyone, here are some pictures of the Cavemen matriarch. This Dark Heaven Legends 02395, Cavewoman was sculpted by Bobby Jackson. I added primitive paintings on the jars and scratches on her knuckles, elbows and knees.
  13. Presenting Tzandi, a member of Monkey's Troupe from the game Twisted by Demented Games. Been painting this one on and off for a while, as I could only work on her teeny tiny details in small bursts (She essentially feels like a much larger scale mini that's been shrunk down). I think taking my time paid off as I'm pretty pleased with the results. This also means I've actually finished a set of something for a change (At least until Long Ma the dragon comes out):- The full Monkey's Troupe. As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  14. Presenting The Bride of Nurgle, the leader of the Nurgle warband in the game Warhammer:- Underworlds by Games Workshop. I don't usually post my Underworlds stuff here, but I felt this one deserved it. Annoyingly, I did a really good job painting her face but you can't see most of it once her fringe is attached. As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  15. I love this sculpt's hair and beard. It reminds me of a roman politician or something neat and classical.
  16. Galladon, Male Wizard This guy as it turns out can be disassemble into pieces! Win for me, because I hate detailed undercuts. And I do not like the staff (fish/dragon)head. Does not fit the character imo. The red squiggly turned out verynice! FINISHED here!
  17. Presenting Tricia Harker, a member of Monkey Kings gang (she takes Tripitaka's place, I guess they felt it was inappropriate to give a Buddhist monk a machine gun) in the game Twisted by Demented Games. Couldn't quite work out what to do with her weird boots, but the rest turned out okay. As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  18. I love painting these dice people! Painted the wizard to be an unpainted die, and the familiar as a die made of ivory (bone.) I now have these joining the gang, and only two left to paint. :D
  19. I thought people might enjoy watching me helplessly flailing about as I attempt to paint an exceptionally intricate mini. This is Tzandi:- She's one fourth of my Monkey King Gang. Made a little progress today:- Painted her skin. This started as a base of Elf Flesh, was shaded with Flesh Wash and then highlighted with Elf Flesh and 1:1 Elf Flesh/Light Flesh. She then got lips of 1:1:1 Elf Flesh/Light Flesh/Warlord Purple, and dots of Brown Wash for eyes and between her lips. I had made a little bit of a mess painting her hands, so I went back over them carefully with Flesh Wash, just to give her separate fingers again. I automatically started painting her bosom as skin before realising she's wearing a dress under her corset, so that will be painted over eventually. The next job is hair and her ridiculously tiny hair ribbons.
  20. Good Friday everyone. Here is 03492, Autumn Bronzeleaf Elf Wizard Sculpted by Jeff Grace. She's certainly one of the most challenging model I ever paint. The level of detail on this mini is just insane. Enjoy and have a great weekend.
  21. There is going to be a firework tonight... Firecrackers in Lorus's way. Here is 02771, Lorus Hightower aka Firecracker. This model was sculpted by Sandra Garrity.
  22. "Bliss" Needed a civilian type for a game, and this was the best I find in my lead mountain. Dunno why, but I keep seeing him as one of those beer-making monks carrying a keg on his back. So I painted him as one who just "sampled" the merchandise and really liked the sample. The nose and cheeks were more "ruddy" IRL but doesn't show up well in the pictures. There is a lightish line at the top of the belly where I tried to repair the paint job after accidently flicking some dark wash on it. The line isn't really visible IRL but clearly seen in the pictures. Thanks for looking. *Edit And if something looked odd with my montage, it's because the second picture got flipped when I was joining the four of them together. Just noticed this.
  23. Presenting the irrepressible Monkey, his group have journeyed to the west to represent the Guild of Harmony's Far East branch in the game Twisted. Was rather intimidated by this guy at the start, the whole set are pretty big on tiny details, but he turned out to be rather straightforward to paint. I've got to stop painting things Andrea Blue until I've figured out how to layer it properly though. As always, any comments or criticisms are warmly received.
  24. Painted up these little guys. They are pretty funny. I might use them as creatures encountered in the Feywild.
  25. “OK, so the Fireball spell didn’t work that well. Any other ideas Owl?” “Hoo!? You asking me!? I’m just an owl.” Probably my last mini for the year. Wasn’t planning on painting the cloak brown since it sorta merges with the hair and owl, but a slight accident forced it on me. I like the way it turned out tough. Thanks for looking.
