  1. I've been painting up a lot of Starcadia Quest. It only seems fitting to start out with the Star Wars characters. For most of my Starcadia Quest, I went with a Borderlands style- with lots of black lining against bright colors and even black hard edging to create that Borderlandish look. I plan to convert a few Starcadians into Borderlands characters as well. Also, it just seemed right to start out with the Star Wars inspired characters.
  2. Painted this one for a friend who is obsessed with the Child from the Mandalorian. It’s a 3D print that I got from a shop on Etsy.
  3. No fancy setup. I'm getting lazy. Or maybe not, because these aren't likely to be used and I still got them done. Rebel Lineup: Biv and Saska. Widely regarded as the two worst heroes in the game. Saska's outfit is green on the character card, but I'm not very fond of green. I also kind of wanted to paint up a Rebel pilot. She's a techie, not a pilot, but the look is similar. Wookiee Warriors. These were some of the first minis I painted for IA. That seems like forever ago sometimes. Alliance Smuggler (a
  4. I don't mind telling you guys, some days it felt like I would never complete the core set. In part, no doubt, to my haphazard manner of deciding what to paint...When I first started playing, the Imperial player had his favored units and he seldom deviated from them. He kept winning, so it's not like he really needed to... Again, I don't have my stuff together enough to do a little story and diorama. It's time to make some calculations for the jump to hyperspace! Jynn Odan and Fenn Signis. Jynn is a smuggler of no small repute who specializes in not stand
  5. My LFGS had a painting contest on its FB Star Wars Legion page a bit ago. 2 weeks to paint up a squad of at least 4 figures. As creativity counted, I decided to set my white and black paint aside and paint something besides Stormtroopers. I took a look through the Rebel scum I'd acquired and really like the poses and sculpts for the Rebel Veterans. I'd planned to do the whole box of 7 figures, but (as anyone who's seen my WIPs knows) I'm not the fastest painter. I'm lucky if I can get one figure done in two weeks. So I quickly decided to just do 4 figures for the contest.
  6. So, as it turns out, I...uhhh...misspoke...when I said Jabba's Realm was complete. Well, I mean it was/is but I forgot to include a couple minis: BT-1 and 0-0-0. Two droids of ill intent. Basically, they boil down to a trigger happy astromech and a sadistic protocol droid. Mostly black with some accents. The "glowing" spot on 0-0-0's hand is meant to represent its electric shock attack. On to Coruscant! Clawdite Shifters. First one up is modeled after The Punisher. That's supposed to be a mythosaur skull on it's chest. It almost resembles i
  7. I finished Hera a few days ago, then Chopper earlier today, and finally the Dewback Rider this evening! I'm not feeling up to writing out a little story or dragging out the tiles for the game, so it's straight up pictures. Even the pictures are lacking in quality tonight with too much light and bad focal ranges. Still, you'll get the idea. Regular and Elite Jet Troopers. FFG sent two flight pegs with each base, but honestly that's a lot of height. Although I admit I thought about having the Elites on two pegs. Regular an
  8. The first four of the 35 Clone troopers I'm currently working on to get their MSP Misty Grey and Pure Black base coats: And yes, I'm rewatching the Clone Wars series to motivate me while I do this.
  9. The Cast: The Story: After the capture of Han Solo by the Bounty Hunter Boba Fett, Princess Leia Organa selects a group of operatives to accompany her on a special mission back to Hoth in order to recover files and equipment that will be necessary to implement Solo's rescue. The rebels expected the remains of the base to be empty, but Darth Vader's prescience led him to leave a small garrison force on the remote ice planet. Dengar, and his cadre of assassin droids, were too late to Bespin to participate in Solo's capture and the attempted capture of Luk
  10. Lots of pictures. I've done my best to keep the size down. The Cast: Story: In the waning days of the Galactic Rebellion, before the Battle of Yavin and Scariff, the Empire had nearly wiped out not only the Jedi but also many users of The Force. Emperor Palpatine had special hunters, known as Inquisitors, that scoured the galaxy and captured/killed those rogues that survived Order 66. The Grand Inquisitor tracked another Force user to the remote Tibana gas mine known as Cloud City hovering in the Bespin atmosphere. The Inquisitor had orders to capt
  11. So my son and his friends have asked me if I would run them a "Star Wars D&D game". They were thinking that I would use 5e, but given that there are Star Wars specific RPGs out there, it seems picking one of those up would be a better idea. Went to the local FLGS thinking I would just pick up whatever the latest version is, only to find out that there are apparently several different versions now available? I got seriously confused as to which was which (the FLGS shrink wraps their books) and just left with a couple of minis. So what are the various vers
  12. My next project is some air power for my rebels. Here are two T-47s with two coats of the base color.
  13. Next up are Boba Fett and a squad of scout troopers. Just the thing for hunting up rebel traitors. :-) The scouts have had a wash of Nuln Oil and two dry brushes of white. Boba Fett's base colors have been blocked in.
  14. Next up are seven Scout Troopers, Boba Fett, and some terrain.
  15. Next up are another squad of troopers and an AT-RT.
  16. Up next is another unit of stormtroopers and General Veers. Since I already shared one unit of STs, I'll just share Veers here. The face has been base coated, washed, highlighted, and I picked out the eyes. The body (after experimenting with a few colors) got a coat of grey and then the armor was washed.
  17. My next project is Luke and some Rebel Troopers.
  18. Vader and a squad of Stormtroopers are next up. The STs have had a wash to create some depth and a heavy dry brush. Vader was primed black and has had some light dry brushing and a little detail work.
  19. Up next for my fledgling Star Wars collection is the Emperor and his Royal Guard. For the Emperor, I decided to go with pallid skin tones with a wash of purple. We'll see how it turns out!
  20. Hey all, I've begun the process of re-basing some old WOTC Star Wars metal characters that I painted a while back. I've added a little height to each base, and now they will be more consistent with the new Star Wars Legion models. I hope you enjoy them. The first is the Cerean Jedi. This guy was my character in the Living Force campaign for many years. Next up is the Human Male Fringer. Last, for now, is a Warhammer 40K model that I painted up do be a human soldier.
  21. A friend of mine gave this to me to paint It's the first time working with a 3d printed figure. I wasn't sure if it would take paint or if I should smooth it out. This is what it looks like now still working on it
  22. It's not that I haven't been painting, I just haven't been posting. I've actually completed some 40% of the Imperial Assault line since I started (focusing on what the Imperial player owns first). Ok, not much to say here. Just the basics, really: Rainy Grey, Ghost White, and Pure White. Pure Black where needed. The shields were done with the silver metallic triads (one triad per group). The batons were a silver metallic triad and the gun metal metallics. Not a lot of variety, but enough to spot the difference on the table. I've thought about going back after the visor lenses
  23. My oldest son loves Star Wars probably more than I do. He has 3 children - a girl and a set of twins (girl and boy). When my kids were little, every year they received an ornament in their stocking. I thought that when they grew up and flew the nest, they would have some ornaments for their own Christmas trees. I decided to do the same for my grandkids and decided to make ornaments using the Mystic Warriors from Hasslefree. I am overall happy with how they turned out. There is no photo of "Leia" in the ornament yet as I haven't put her in it!)
  24. This was my favorite project of 2017 due to how much I pushed my abilities in creating it. It was my first major conversion of this sort, first time doing texture, first major use of OSL, and first Sci Fi base built fully from scratch. So lots of firsts with this one. Those of you who followed my WIP thread know what I went through with this one; the OSL dilemma, redoing the base, and sculpting new hands at the last minute. In all I am proud that I stepped out of my comfort zone and I cannot give enough thanks to those who posted in the WIP thread, your encouragement gave me the push that I n
  25. The first look at the upcoming Solo movie aired during tonights Super Bowl... Lando, check. The Falcon, check. Chewie, check. All the elements are there, now pray it's good.
