  1. Finished up this Succubus bust (Succubust?) produced by Macaroni Miniatures. Had fun trying some new things out with her. Painted with ProAcryl paints and mounted on a plinth from Frozen Ninja 3D.
  2. Started working on this succubus bust (succubust?) from Macaroni Miniatures. Nice simple piece to work on. Realized after I got to this point that there were some chips in the hair I should have fixed. Oh well! Skin is Pro Acryl Shadow Flesh, shaded with Dark Plum, and highlighted with Dark Warm Flesh. Pretty happy with how it's going so far.
  3. This is a 3d printed model from a very small KS project I backed a few years ago. The figure is nicer than our printer suggests. I used this model to experiment with red skin.
  4. I started painting my ringmaster Sophie last night and put a little more work in tonight. Still working on base coating. I thought I did a really great job with the eyes... then I took a look at my photo. I think the right eye (her left) needs to get redone. Colors used so far: Carnival Purple, Big Top Red, Palamino Gold, Noir Black, Caucasian Flesh
  5. Right off the bat, I believe obfuscating certain parts of the photos does not break the rules? If it does, please take the appropriate action and let me know! My warlock needed a companion minion, so there she is. Since my warlock was inspired by WoW, I decided to look at WoW succubus for inspiration. Overall, I like how she turned out. I was very concerned she would end up looking like Joker with that green hair when I put down the base layer, but that worked out well I think. The only dislike I have is that she turned out too pink. I wanted there to be a blend of pink with very pale skin color. However, I did not seem to have the right paint, nor was I able to mix to produce the color I wanted and I tried a few times. Anyhow, here she is! Too bad the best masterpiece painted places had to be covered up 😆 haha! As always, all sorts of feedback is very welcomed! front back right side left side close up base with skulls with the master WoW succubus just for reference.
  6. This one was for a facebook competition about color. The rules were, basically, don't worry about anything else but color. Do something different with color. I started with the idea of a dress palette of blue, teal, purple, and magenta. Once I had those colors in place, it was a matter of incorporating them in different areas of the model. I went with cotton candy roses and a galaxy print on the wings. The galaxy was a matter of stippling the dress colors (plus a bit of white) back and forth until the effect was convincing. Then I masked the body of the model and flicked a stiff brush at the wings to make star patterns. I then went back to the dress colors and stippling to blend them in a bit. This was a blast to paint, because I've never really done anything like this before.
  7. Hi guys. Here is my painted Bones Succubus. Parts of her are a hot mess but I am so happy with her!! I pushed through sone issues I was having and there are so many spots I learned on her. For starters she has the first makeup I ever put on a mini. She has eyeshadow, blush, lipstick complete with little white light dot on her lower lip for fun and a beauty mark! I started with slightly less pronounced makeup but then she's a succubus, she would have exaggerated makeup I think. The unfortunate thing about her is her right cheek has quite an indent and then a mold line a little past that. I disguised the mold line by giving her a "lady sideburn" to match the one sculpted on the other side but there's nothing I can do about the indent. Then her wings, for the first time I was able to get more of a variation in the colouring which I tried with my bat demon and ended up covering because I didn't like it. Her dress could have used a bit more but I was done and I'm still working on the layering/highlighting in general. One thing that still bothers me is the rough look of my paint jobs when I'm done. I paint with a wet palette so thinning isn't an issue I don't think and don't put coats on top of drying paints so that's not causing it. Hope everyone likes her as much as I do. I even have a second copy of her to do later in my painting journey.
  8. The Left Hand of Darkness here is from the Bones 3 Stoneskull expansion. I painted this one at the same time as the Bones 4 female devil, as they make a fine pair. Speaking of fine pairs, you will need to click the links to see, as the titilation offered by a shapely two inch piece of plastic might be harmful to minors. Full Frontal More Full Frontal Even More Full Frontal The Left The Other Left A slight Angela from Spawn vibe going here. Not sure what about this mini that makes me think of that character. 77496 Eilluvasheth, Succubus Queen Bones 3 Stoneskull Expansion, 2017 Reaper Miniatures Sculpted by Bobby Jackson Made in Bonesium PVC 32mm base available from reapermini.com
  9. #72: Female Devil or Succubus Full Frontal Frontal from a slight angle The classic side-boob shot Aha! This shot has a strategically placed arm! No link needed! Take that censorshippers! The bedeviled subset. From the front. #71 Female Devil from the Bedeviled subset Bones 4 Core set, 2019 Reaper Miniatures unknown sculptor Made in Bonesium PVC 32mm base should be available from reapermini.com some time in the future in Bones.
  10. Sophie at the Well of Lost Memories was my RC 2019 entry. I posed her on a sculpted base, reading through a stack of old diaries and journals written by those who have gone before us. She earned a bronze award.
  11. Here one of my works this past months; an old (now discontinued) mini from Freebooter miniatures. It had a gloomy melancholic look, so I went with a dark palette around 3 main colors: dark green, blue and purple.
  12. One of my favourite works: freebooter miniatures succubus. Used a "slannesh" palette, mainly purple. I'm happy with the outcome. To give it a little more impact I tried a freehand on the wings. A pretty simple one, I think it looks cool, but it could be better if I dared to try to shadow/highlight it instead of using a plain color. There is more contrast on her skin & wings; here on this photo it doesn't look good because it was a pretty intense white light and it makes it all look the same... I like to name my miniatures but I wasn't feeling creative here, so I just named her Lillith... Btw lately I've been invested on my instagram account: it's only for miniature painting works. I would love if you people give me a follow, and feedback :D it's @albertnyarla
  13. Pretty happy with this overall, but I would paint a 2nd one given the chance. The wings are weird in the back, almost as if they were not part of the original sculpt and it makes for an odd fit with the serving platter arm. She's got wrist warmers on each arm and, sorry, they're just ugly. Not happy with the face. Repainted it four times and finally just had to stop.
  14. Another older sculpt I wanted to knock out real quick, this was maybe three hours’ work (not counting stepping away to let paint dry, etc.). To be honest, it looked amazing when everything was just a basecoat, it’s the parts after that that throw me. Anyway, Sirithis (links for nudity): Front Back Still haven’t found a nipple color that works. The search continues. Comments and critiques welcome.
  15. So - my next small project - I cannot keep with just one ... errrr. After having a small but nice talk with @SGHawkins09 and being sent home by the doc to cure a sickness I recently picked up, I had to decide what to do next. As all those wonderful and enthusiatic responses to my previous projects (I mean it - I never had so much response in such a short time) made it near to impossible to just sign off from the forums and disappear into the wilderness, I agreed to take on a different plan. I just grabbed into my miniature box and took some figures to paint them and get them done. And then it struck me: I am at the Reaper Forums yet I missed to paint a Reaper miniature. So I picked out ... errr - let me see ... Troll Slayer Sophie! Yay! - hey! Hooooraaay! Who the heck is Troll Slayer Sophie and when did I buy her? It seems I already started to paint her, but then decided otherwise, stripped *chuckles* her and put her away. Hm. Good point to start her all over again. As I chose her to be the figure I wanted to paint next I had to think about the color scheme I wanted to use. Well. I had no idea. I never really cared about fantasy style, so it never meant anything to me. The things I know about are modern or sci fi. I played a lot of Warhammer40k back in the days. I even wrote fanfiction stories which included the Imperial Guard and the Sisters of Battle ... ... Sisters of Battle ... hm. that could make a great colour scheme. Works well with the flesh tones and still contrasts it. And as Sophie is a demon, the demon/witch hunter theme fits her rather perfectly. I'll take it! Well then - primed her and started painting. But I am not sure - do I want to give her skin the grim dark appearance of an Adepta or a more Succubi-like appearance like ... this one: Succubus Suggestions?
  16. Beginning my theorizing for ReaperCon. I originally liked the Incubus and was heading toward making it primarily focus around him but was having trouble finding something to work with other than just landing on something. Then I figured he could be in a duel with another winged being. Then I got to the point where I was thinking the Darkspawn Succubus might make for a good opponent for our teenage boy... so I ordered them. So I could discuss this with my mentor, I took some approximate photos for a discussion point: And by the time my lesson rolled around, I was thinking I could call it something like: We talked about how to work around this and I have a better understanding of where and why I can and should do some things. And ways to show what I am trying to convey more clearly. This was very very helpful. As I get into dealing with the figures and bringing this to life, I'll try to show what we talked about and why I am doing them. Let the countdown begin! 187 Days till ReaperCon...
  17. One of my Bones minis. The succubus that was released in Bones II (I think). She is painted up as the redeemed succubus of my world who became the Goddess of Vengeance (She has a bit of a temper and holds grudges). So her is Fiona... Front view only as her backside refuses to photograph properly. Still working on improving my camera skills for this
  18. So I'm pretty new to the painting scene - just started about a month and a half ago after playing off-and-on for 15 years with a couple of unpainted minis. After about 20 little fellows, I finally have one that I think is mostly 'ok' - I know her eyes and mouth are still pretty terrible, but I just don't have the fine brush control (yet) to do more than blobs at this stage. :D edit - add tags
  19. Does anyone have stats (data card) for the 14333 Darkspawn Succubus figure? It is not in the datacard search :(
  20. Ever accidentally grab the wrong sealant and not realize it until it's too late? I am very happy with her hair though. The wing assembly came together with a piece of her hair that was somehow badly damaged and had huge gaps. This gave me an opportunity to try out Liquid Green Stuff for the first time! Her eyes were great, but unfortunately there's not enough contrast for them to be very visible under normal lighting. Astute observers may note that she's not actually a "chained" succubus. I suspect that the chain is probably wherever her hair ended up. :-)
  21. I'm back! I had a long time of not being able to paint owing to being extremely busy, but after months, I've finally found the time to paint again So, on to the mini ^^ I felt quite rusty painting Sophie, but I think she came out well in the end. I'm particularly pleased with the colour on her wings Getting an angle on her face was hard... Photos arent amazing quality as I have a new phone that I'm still getting used to ^^;
  22. Another day, another miniature for me to post. This one I was a little unsure of if I should post, but with how nice everyone has been I think I should! This one is the Pirate Sophie miniature, I saw it on Ebay and knew I had to have it! I have tried to make the parrot as realistic as I could, and for the photos I took heed of the advice given by Chaoswolf in the thread about my Wyvern, and have tried to get better light, though it has not been easy with my resources! Anyway here's the pictures, comments and advice are gratefully received!!
  23. Mini number 8 completed This is Semira Marise, the last of my Hasslefree minis, made by Kev White, though I'll try and get some different photos of her, as these have come out a tad strange. Paints used... Citadel -White Scar -Kislev Flesh -Khorne Red -Nuln Oil -Seraphim Sepia -Druchii Violet -Blood for the Blood God -Leadbelcher -Runelord Brass -Auric Armour -Caledor Sky? -Mechanicus Standard Grey P3 -Cold Steel -Bloodtracker Brown -Thamar Black -Umbral Umber -Menoth White Highlight I decided to paint her as the dignified priestess, who had perhaps summoned my two succubi, or something =] so she's all wise and stuff. Sadly, you can't see her eyes in these shots, which is all the more annoying as I was rather pleased with them, haha. Lotsa Blood for the Blood God, because one doesn't simply summon demons without getting one's hands dirty, and her lovely white robe... Well, it was once a white robe. I painted her pristine in white scar, then put lots of dirt on with nuln oil and seraphim sepia, and then bloodied her up some. Now I'm all outta unpainted minis, bar finishing off Ebonwrath, until my next order arrives :O but hopefully, that'll bring me my lovely Nethyrmaul and a few other bits and bats too.
