This is the lovely miniature I received from Pineapple for the Summer exchange. It is a bit late but Pineapple had to start over when parts off the first mini were pilfered and lost. This is the second one and I must say the wait was well worth it! The basing is well done with a scratch built stone wall to frame the Troll Champion. The skin tones, although unexpected is just perfect for the mini and the touch of Orange I usually request appear in the hair/horns and finger/toe nails! The combination is perfect! Herein Lies my Summer exchange piece I did for Pktlnt. He asked for something fabulous and gave some inspiration of "an unlikely superhero". I started thinking of my favorite superheros and was coming up with blanks for how to make them work. Until I dug through my drawer of shame and found 2 things needed to make this work. A paladin and a shield. This ended up having a bit more freehand work than I usually attempt. I also did a bit of converting to make it work including fileing off some details on the shield. But that said this is my favorite piece I've made yet. I'm gonna go order another paladin and make one for me! The pics will explain everything... Closeup of shield and face... So the mailman just brought this AWESOME piece to my door. This is the summer exchange that Ub3r_N3rd did for me. I think it's absolutely incredible; if you're involved with the 'Randomness' threads at all, there's a lot of Easter eggs in this piece for you to find. Ub3r did a really great job with this, I'm kind of at a loss for words to describe my happiness. Anyway, enough of my gushing, here's the pics: Ub3r_N3rd will be along shortly to add some more pics or link to the ones he took during the building/painting process, check back, I'm sure they'll be better than mine. since it is now officially delivered and received I can now put up my pictures of my summer exchange mini! For whatever reason, between reapercon and life in general, it took forever to figure out what I wanted to do with this one. and I honestly came upon it by accident. We have two monks one by RAFM and one by Reaper. the reaper piece had a sword or knife but it was broken off when I found the piece I wanted so I sculpted an open hand instead and went to town. I am still trying to master the tattoo so the bald guys head got a dragon around the ear for practice. The base is Cocobolo wood with basswood strips for the dojo they are fighting in.
