  1. Hello Everyone we have launched our first kickstarter campaign with two stories weve poured our hearts into Dawn#1 and MightyMan#0 we are looking to create a new superhero universe that brings comics back to its roots by putting story telling first and even if you dont leave a donation we would like you to take a look. http://kck.st/3KcXwLC
  2. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/blacklistgames/hour-of-need?ref=user_menu Hour of Need is a cooperative game of comic book action inspired by the costumed heroes that many of us grew up with. Using the Modular Deck System (MDS), also featured in Street Masters, Brook City, and Altar Quest, the game features incredibly modular gameplay using several different types of decks. Hero decks, villain decks, and issue decks can all be mixed and matched to create countless combinations of unique play experiences. Miniatures Each hero in Hour of Need is represented by a highly-detailed miniature, as well as each villain and their associated lackeys. Hero Decks Each hero in Hour of Need is defined by their unique deck of cards, representing their crime-fighting abilities. While each hero has their own playstyle, all hero decks share something in common in the form of heroic feats which make certain cards multi-purpose—do you want to play a card for its ability, or keep it in your hand to use its “toughness” heroic feat icon to protect yourself from damage? Managing your hand is crucial in avoiding crises! Villain Decks Villain decks are the primary opposition in Hour of Need. During the villain turn, each player draws a villain card and resolves its icons—these will spawn minions in scheme panels, trigger special villain abilities, or spawn perils & lackeys on the map. Additionally, villain cards feature “Showdown” effects that are resolved whenever a villain is attacked by a hero—if the heroes can first reveal the villain! Issue Decks and Issue Boards Like any good comic book series, Hour of Need tells its stories through issues—issue decks, in this case. Each issue deck is accompanied by an issue board that sets the scene for the conflict. The issue deck details the overall story and special rules for the game. Whether the heroes are attempting to thwart a bank robbery or prevent advanced weaponry from being stolen, the issue deck will provide the villain with their overall goal, which the heroes must prevent in order to win! Issue Guides The issue guide provides all the narrative and rules clarifications for each issue in the game. Players can choose to play a more story-based experience by reading each story point as its cue effects are triggered. Hero Dice Heroes must fight and solve their way through their enemies’ various machinations. Hero dice are used to resolve each fight and solve action, while focus tokens are used to mitigate these rolls. Tokens Tokens are used to track various game elements, such as how much damage a character has suffered, how much justice has been dealt to a problem, as well as where minions and bystanders appear on the board. Additionally, each issue introduces unique tokens to add another level of thematic immersion. Rulebook Check out the beta rulebook HERE!
  3. We have all had brushes with the hard to explain , the apparent impossible , the out of this world ... here's a chance to share a memory or few ... So way back in my younger days me, my brother and two friends we coming home from an all day "monsters of rock" concert in San Francisco, we stoped at a store to pick up some liquids refreshments and snaks for the ride home when I saw them ... coming down the street was a largish gang "wilding" , basically thumping everyone that came across their path ... they were a block away and I was the last one to get into my car ... "hay guys get out" , I said, "let's teach these punks a lesson" ... now I was the assistant wrestling coach at the local college wail I was still in high school and have had a wide range of training over the years so this wad kind of a natural response for me ... the other three had way more common sense, asking me to get in so we can go , this went on as the gang kept coming down the block beating up all who crossed their path ... Just then I herd a car screech to a stop, out of it flew a figure dressed all in black with the bat man emblem on his chest , he dashed across the street in short order armed only with two sawed off baseball bats and laid into the gang ... after over ten years of hand to hand combat training I can tell you, he knew what he was doing and executed every move with impressive precision ... after one of the best fight scenes I have seen in any bat man movie he dashed back to the bat mobile (A primer black ElComeno) and was gone ... leaving a mess of moaning thugs and cheering fans ... What a day, Monsters of rock and Bat man ... hard to say witch was more intense.
  4. Couple of tabletop Bones figures I painted over the winter and have been able to finally finish now that spring is here. The Black Mist is actually done in shades of blue and purple, but the subtleties don't show on my cheap camera.

  6. I was wondering if there would be new superhero miniatures in addition to he ones already offered by Reaper.
  7. I picked this thread because of the title... My purpose is that I am creating a set of rules for use with various genres of Chronoscope minis and would like to know what kinds of Special Abilities (Superpowers) would you like to see in those rules for the various Super Hero models in the line? Thanks!
  8. Here is a link to a conversion I made for my friend's replicants game. https://scontent.fsnc1-1.fna.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xft1/v/t1.0-9/12742024_10153898474343926_3950119575945424414_n.jpg?oh=7aaa6d85109995bee0ecbad30e719f09&oe=575B53D2 And from a slightly different angle https://scontent.fsnc1-1.fna.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xft1/v/t1.0-9/12715224_10153898474518926_3492117105144838208_n.jpg?oh=12ff9af3aa511df79377cd712f69c673&oe=5760BCA6 buckyball
  9. This weekend I managed to call my Crosswire conversion complete. For those interested, the WIP is under this forum (but my computer doesn't like the link adding function on the forum). I am happy with how my NMM is coming along. I could have brought this to the next level with more time but as he will be used as a game piece, I am happy to call him done. More pics and rambling on my blog. As a teaser, here is Whiplash vs Iron Man and the Incredible Hulk.
  10. As part of my ongoing super hero project, I have been converting a few minis to represent some of the better known heroes and villains from the pages of comics and movies. I picked up Crosswire as a start for Whiplash, not realizing just how big he is. I ramble on it extensively on my blog, these couple of pics show how he scales with 28mm truescale figs as shown by Deano by Hasslefree Miniatures. In short, he is giant. I started by sculpting the Arc Reactor on his chest yesterday and today I added on the straps and power cables. As I see the bottom wires attached I need to go in and clean up the edge where I have a gap on the Arc Reactor base plate. Comments and advice appreciated.
  11. Since I have so carefully documented my Dr. Doom conversion I thought I would track my Iron Man conversion. To start with, Afterburn scales very well with truescale 28mm, again using Deano from Hasslefree Miniatures to scale. To start the conversion I removed the fin on top of his helmet. I carefully retraced the panel design and ensured the lines matched. After that, I guess it's on to painting. Oh, not much of a conversion, more of a joke. But as I paint him up I will keep track of it here.
  12. Found a bit of spare time to quickly hammer out my take on Silver Sable. I went with a comic style contrast on her and used some lessons on highlighting dark skin I learned doing a miniature over a few months until I got it right. As I want to make her psychic (unlike Silver Sable), I don't think I will do pupils. I also went for a bit lighter skin around the eyes than I normally do to make it seem more "glowy". Anyhow, comments appreciated even though it is just a speed paint. More pictures and rambling on my blog.
  13. Just finished up Batman while watching all three Back to the Future movies. I'm really happy with the cape. I used the RMS Martial Blues triad, then glazed it with thinned Army Painter blue ink. I'm really enjoying how Army Painter's coloured inks are working as glazes when thinned, I used a purple glaze on the Gollum that I'm working on now which really helped the model. Also, I should really add a shot of the awesome Iron Halo base insert I used for this figure. Made here in New Zealand! Painted up really nicely. Might have something new to show off in a day or two if work doesn't keep me too busy, in the meantime I'm off to buy some comics and a burrito.
  14. Latest couple of minis finished, and a little bit different from my usual fantasy fare Recently tried the Batman Mini game at my local games centre, and enjoyed it enough to pick up a couple of characters for it. I ended up choosing Batgirl and Huntress They're not based yet, as Im not actually sure how to go about it. Usually I use a mix of sand, static grass, leaves etc, which works for fantasy, but not so much for Gotham City, so any suggestions there would be welcome. I was thinking potentially miliput? I'm not that confident with using it, so I'm not sure how well it would create a street effect
  15. Reaper Bones 80007 The Black Mist as comic book character "The Shadow". I got the idea from 1994 movie The Shadow with Alec Baldwin, which I saw recently. I have actually never read this comic. I got the figure done just in time for the "You are such a character" contest.
  16. I painted up Reaper's 50212 Incredible Woman to resemble my husband's fire controller from the now defunct online game, City of Heroes. The fire critter is from Wyrd Flame base accessories set. He really likes it, so mission accomplished . As you can see from the reference pictures, she got a slight costume change...
  17. Hi Everyone - in the time I have left to wait for my e-mail for my Bones KS... I'm trying to stay busy going through the forums and making paint lists and all that I started to look at some superhero mini's for an upcoming Champions campaing i might get into. In looking for the superherop mini's I saw Reaper had 28 of them - if I got them all I'd pay a whopping $187+ tax. That got me thinking - "MAN, I wish they had a Boxed Set of these!!!" That spun up this question - what mini's would other's like to see in a boxed set?? Would these ever be in a boxed set? Could we get them in a boxed set? Just thought I'd throw it out there to see if anyone else has given it some thought!
