Felicitations on your personal solstice! (even if you can't spell tailspinner)

So I have a way of grabbing some terrain items for a 'quick' paint job, and it turning out to be not so quick. See what I mean with the Bones book cases, and barrels, some cows, and the Bones 1 caskets. I should have known better when I sat down to knock out just a couple of beds. Well... maybe they don't look as good as I think they do, because I know how much bleeding time I put into them, and maybe I've gotten some Stockholm syndrome towards them. I'll let you all decide. And just because, Here's a Pig to wrap in all those blankets. Let me know what you all think. Thanks for looking!

Nothing too exciting, just yet another example of my tabletop painting. har har har... Sorry couldn't resist. But these were actually really quick. (I had remembered my wood formula by then. Of course I yet again didn't write it down, cause I always think, "I'll remember." )

Today I went to Crate and Barrel! Er...I mean crates and barrels. I already had all the paints out for my table and benches, so I decided to paint up the two Bones crates and two Bones barrels I had to match, since I've decided I rather like how the table and benches turned out. Picture! Another Picture! I channeled Bob Ross while I was painting the small crate: "This little guy's leaning a bit. He's tired, he's had a hard life. So I'll give him a friend, right there. Everybody needs a friend. :)" Group photo! Which includes a currently WIP Sir Forscale, who is not fully convinced that the height of this stack of goods is within safety standards. The wolf took advantage of the distraction and happily removed the rest of the food from the table. Yay for more drybrushing, woo.... Nothing special, just a table and benches, but these little pieces were fun to paint up, and at least they look decent on the table. The benches have a tendency to tip over, though, so I may have to stick them on half a base each or something. Thank you to Talespinner for sculpting such nice deep wood grain; it made drybrushing delightful! Pictures! (I found my backgrounds, yay!) And a group shot for fun! ...I really need to paint Sir Forscale. This is The Amphisbaena, which I originally painted up the other night to go along with Draco the Barbarian, but I reversed course when I remembered that the main contest that I'm going to enter Draco into at Reapercon (for Ares Mythologic) needs to have their figures and not mainly have other manufacturers in any diorama/vignette that I build. So I'll go ahead and add this to an already created base and another Conan barbarian that I have. This was part of the most recent Temple of Set IGG campaign and what is even cooler about this snake is that it was sculpted by Andy (TaleSpinner)! Anyhow, here's the 2-headed snake in all his slithery glory! Of course C&C are welcomed and encouraged!

Last year, the awesome, amazing, fantastic, terrific, talented, awesome Talespinner (aka Andrew Pieper) made a special mini for me. I requested a living doll, in the form of a teddy bear (a rather specific teddy bear that I own, except he's hiding from me atm, otherwise I would post pictures of him too). The teddy bear is Cornelius Dapperbear, living doll created by one of my (many) D&D characters. The mini is positively tiny. I was going to take pictures of it with a penny, but I didn't have any. But here he is all on his own. Also, I made the base, which explains why it sucks when compared to the bear I hope y'all like him as much as I do

I'm technically sneaking ahead a bit, but I'm going to start painting one of the Hearthstone Redcaps really soon (the guy on the left with the sword). He broke in two pieces right at the knees (end of tunic), and instead of trying to glue him back together, I decided to try a water effects base. [PLACEHOLDER for photo] I've started on the base today, because I had some painting time for the first time in forever (I also did some other basing stuff that I'll post elsewhere in show-off when done. This weekend probably). I decided to try my heavy body gel from Liquitex as my water effect.Because I wanted this too look kinda swampy, I decided to originally paint the base an olive colour. I then went over it with some medium, and a mix of that olive, and some inks (1:1:1:1): phthalo green (yellow) and burnt umber. It's quite a nice colour, actually. I'll probably re-use it. Then when that dried, I put some heavy body gel medium on top and tried to create the sense of movement . It should keep some ridges that I can then paint faintly to suggest the ripples created by the redcap wading in the water. It's only been an hour, so you get an in-process drying photo, which shows a bit of the green underneath. I think it gives a good idea of what it will look like, and I'm pretty pleased with it so far. Pretty easy so far. We'll see how it looks at the end. Looks like I forgot to take a pic of the post olive mix, but it didn't change the colour too much.
