I thought I’d be safe here for a while. But that has turned out not to be true as danger lurks everywhere and nowhere all at once... However, I am the last… and the improvised torch I had made with a scrap of wood and some fabric from my clothes has started to flicker... I’m thus truly the last, and the shadows dancing
  2. WIP is here.First 3 pages include lighthouse. Mobile site has been a pain, so I'll add comments later. This was meant to be modular for storage.
  3. So I salvaged this bit of 16×20 particle board from a broken picture frame. I'll be using some of my foam core to make a city square/crossroads board with my foam rollers. Something for city games that isn't too time consuming, but is also good for a wide spread of genres with the proper buildings and scatter The tough part will be steaming off the paper and cutting down the various bits for rolling.
  4. It has been a while since my last post, I'm am just struggling to find the free time to sit down and paint or build at the moment. Anyway, this week I got the opportunity to run some run some 'build along' model making workshops with the kids at the Youth Centre where I work, and we have been putting together little X-mas themed display pieces. It was actually pretty fun being able to share and introduce a new generation to the joys of my nerdy hobby. I was pretty pleased with how they turned out so I figured I would share. The base is just a piece of log, and the mo
  5. (Yes, the title is a throwback to a contest I ran years ago on here....no I'm not running another one, with today's shipping rates, ugh......) This is where I'm going to work on 3D printed terrain pieces for Star Wars Legion, most of which currently are going to be spaceships. Because why use generic terrain when you can be shooting Rebel Scum hiding behind X-wings and the like? Up first is this: All the FDM bits are there, but most of the resin bits (guns, ramp, interior) are still in a bin waiting to have their supports removed and cured. I figured I
  6. New range of scenery by Hammerlot Games. Link: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/hammerlot/dark-stones-the-cult-begins
  7. Every year I put together a village using as many of my noncombative miniatures along with my Dwarven forge village a few pieces from my parents ceramic village and my old shops from the fire as she bears campaign It may not be finished yet but its a good start to the holiday!
  8. Just a random collection of recently painted 3D prints. All of these are from a slightly modified Creality Ender-3 A Longship from EC3D: The Wilds of Wintertide The Draken Airship, from Lovecraft Designs Oh, well! Also from Lovecraft Designs The Ferisia Mage Tower:
  9. Okay, so this isn't so much a "conversion" as it is an "appropriation." I had #77470 "Elthin Bluesteel, Gunslinger" (Pathfinder Bones) in my box o' Kickstarter Bones, while I was digging through to find anything that might even remotely look appropriate for a "Wild West" scenario. Sure, he's got some crazy boots, a big ol' dagger, and some sort of leather armor layered thing going on with his torso area, but he's got a gun, a cowboy hat, and a drape to one side that feels kind of Eastwood-ish to me. He also suffers from a wee bit of "melty face," as there's next-to-no definition
  10. I think most GM's can sympathise, sometimes your players just get lucky going through a dungeon. Maybe the dice are on their side or maybe they're just a bunch of min/maxing little murder hobos that have destroyed everything in their path. What you need is one final encounter, one last way to try and salvage at least some of your pride and show them that they're not quite as in control as they think they are. There's a room. It's certainly locked and probably warded and what player can resist that? Once they force their way the find this ancient stone circle. There's some sort of
  11. There are some things that don't really fit a project and aren't important enough for a thread on their own. I'll put those here. Like this campfire. 3D printed from the Artisan Guild welcome Pack
  12. I'm sure many of you can sympathise- we see a cool model in a kickstarter, finally get it delivered and then sit flummoxed whilst trying to figure out exactly how to paint said mini. This Mystic Portal has been sitting on my painting desk since last June and I finally figured out what to do with it. Imagine that your players have just finished ransacking your meticulously planned dungeon/keep/cavern system. They've breezed through the encounters, possibly due to good dice rolls or possibly that they're a bunch of min/maxing little murder hobos. What you need is one final encounter,
  13. Looks interesting for the terrain, if not the miniatures. Two armies package includes two 20"x20" fortresses for less than $100. There are a couple of things that give me pause, though. First time creator, and claims to be in Chicago but English is clearly not his first language. May not mean anything but makes me wonder. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/crumb-group/eternal-eight "After over three years in the making, we are proud to present you the Eternal Eight - a WORLD'S FIRST 3D mini war game with innovative real 3D RELIEF. 14. Stumbled across this and thought it might be of interest to some folks here. Be a different way of putting together woods and stuff for traditional wargaming. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/babbletree/terragon-terrain Pretty much the entire 'leader' page is GIFs so I'm not going to try and copy it over to here.
  15. So, I invoke the 3 foot rule on these; one could go back and forth forever attempting to edge half-timbered buildings. I have been idly working on new scenery since the pandemic, and finished two more buildings plus a well I bought a few months ago. (That’s lightning speed compared to some projects.) These are sold on Amazon by some outfit called Ender Toys. I picked up a group of four, and a second group of two, some fences and the well. If these are an example of what I could get at home, I’m not rushing out to get a printer to wrestle with. The filament lines a
  16. As Halloween approaches the dollar stores are filling up with cheap decorations and spooky bricabrac. Amid all the potential projects a certain reflective skull caught my eye. Not knowing if it would take paint or not I decided to roll the dice on a few. I attached them to some bases, added a bit of sand, and the next day I took them out to prime. They ended up taking primer just fine, though I guess I shouldn't be surprised with the primer I use. Unfortunately I forgot to snap a picture of their grey primed goodness. Next up were the basecoats of the skull and "dirt".
  17. Not super sure where to post this but this made the most sense to me. I found some fantastic miniature pumpkins at my local Joann Fabrics. Hopefully you can find them elsewhere if you don't have a Joann's. They come in $10 bags that are pretty big. I don't see myself ever needing to buy more. They say "fall drieds" which makes me think they're some kind of organic. But they have the consistency of some kind of acorn or pinecone. So pretty solid. I don't think they'd deteriorate but if you're worried I'm sure a sealant of some kind would d
  18. I got my caverns terrain, and... Wow! Cave Cliff Pack, Natural Bridge, stairway to violence, stone banks pack, and webbed lair adventure pack. Apparently a tote is still coming? And I already got texture patches. Things are currently getting scrubbed.
  19. While I love painting miniatures, painting terrain pieces is also fun! I started these two this month and finished just yesterday. I’m considering getting these two pieces again and do a desert themed set.
  20. I have been wanting to build tree bases of several trees each for use at home. (Conventions will probably require individual trees for transport reasons.). I finally got around to starting a few test bases today. This one is approximately done, and uses a base with some extra scenic materials started at a workshop at Gencon last year. The next two are in progress. I need to paint the rocks, add some flock, and then glue down the trees. While I would expect that 10-15 bases will be wanted for at-home gaming, three will have to do for now, and

  22. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/rattrap/ratmat-scenics-forest-ruins-wharf-and-warehouse-packs?ref=discovery_category_newest Story I've been running, playing, and creating RPGs and miniature games for decades. After being involved in this world for so long, I recently wondered just how much time I've spent loading, transporting, and setting up terrain for conventions, store demos, and regular game nights. It was...a lot. Sometimes you just want to get to the game! I've also heard time and again that people are interested in RPGs and miniature games,
  23. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2126421571/harbour-life?ref=discovery_category_newest Story Hello, we are the "Mystery Studio" team, we make high-quality collectible miniatures and terrain mostly on a 28-35mm scale. We always had few fantasy elements on the table. And we decided to create them ourselves. In this project, we present to you a large set of fantasy city port. At the moment, we have already made prototypes and first copies of almost all the miniatures, except for a few. All models are ready for production. We sincere
  24. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/hammerlot/battleruins-temple-of-the-damned?ref=discovery_category_newest Story We are Ismael and Mishell, in 2016 our passion for scenery and miniatures led us to create Hammerlot Games. Whether we use them in role-playing games, board games, or modelling, we love to collect, assemble, paint, and play with them. Although we have published several projects at Hammerlot Games that present scenarios to set up undead-themed games, we believe that our passion could be used to create a new range called Bat

The high-resolution, high-detail level in each and every one of the figures make them stand perfectly as miniature sculpts on your gaming table or scaled up as huge collectibles for display. We worked really hard from the very beginning of each concept to the final 3D ready-to-print model i
