Can't make Deep One hybrids without Deep Ones; that just stands to reason. Got these fishy Bones fellas before the Bones Deep Ones came out. Probably overdid the metallics, and will probably do so again. 77215, Eregris Darkfathom I painted up first; did not notice it's a cultist in a fish suit; thought the face was part of the mouth. I do like the flowing robes and the coral scabbard. 77187, the Tiik Champion, is a delight. Huge and hunched-over, with a Dunkleosteus profile, truly a terrifying beast from an elder era. 77186, the Tiik Warrior, I'm pretty pleased with. 77212, the Baron, I should probably revisit and put some shiny razzamatazz on his fins one of these days. There's one more fishy friend I need to post, but for reasons probably more aesthetic than biological, she is NSFW and will need to be linked.

When you want fish men on the table you can never have too many of them. Here are two more tiik warriors, with spawn in tow, and a champion. I painted the champion in predator fish colors, dark blue and grey, kind of shark like. He is on a Bag of Crap base with a ruined stela. The warriors are on swamp terrain bases that I built.

Now that the Marid and Hippocampus chariot is finished, it's time to move on to the next project: the Tiik! I picked up five of them (one is a baron) and would like to paint them in exotic color schemes. Here are a few that I have found: Anyone else have some cool ideas? I'm avoiding clownfish because I don't want Nemo in my army...

This started when I found fishmen bodies in the trade-in bin at Reapercon. Thanks to everyone who helped me search for hours for the arms. I completely forgot that they had detached tails as well and ended up sculpting some very poor imitations when I got home. Went through the bits box and gave the two big guys some added weapons, one has a sword, the other a magic staff topped with a chunk of coral. Dug out some Bones from one of the KS to add to the mix. Their names are War, Pestilence, Famine, Death, and Bad Gumbo. I finished painting them in December, but just got the bases done this weekend.

table top mini from the big box of minis. I had a hard time figuring out what color I wanted to do on this guy. finally chose colors that would make him look like a giant gold fish from hell. I think I should have gone with a better contrasting eye color, it sort of blends in. all in all a fun mini to paint. sorry about the crap photos still trying to learn what works there. this is one of the minis I want to get in metal after painting it in bones. awesome sculpt but lost some detail. I got rid of the trident and added a spear. the original weapon was bent beyond repair, I thought, then I realized it was just the position of the leg that made it seem hopeless. the replacement spear bent also. LOL

Hello guys. (First time here) Building small diorama with a Tiik and Mudcroaks. I also have Spikeshells and more Tiiks alongside big Kallaguk. Do not know how to arrange them yet, but progress so far. Enjoy.

This is another fishy Tiik monster, this one Reaper's 77212, Tiik Baron. He was part of my year-end Conga Line of Finishing Up Half-Done Minis. There is an old WIP here. I was never quite able to make out what the thing on his left gills I painted red was. I think it might be a hermit crab in a shell. Earlier cousin Tiik figures here and here.

I am just calling this "Tiik Abomination" because it looks so much like Julie Guthrie's Tiik Warriors, apart from the extra set of arms and what looks like Cthulhu on its loincloth. But that's just my name for it; I don't know what Reaper will officially call it when it is released in their store. Anyhow, to start with I prepped and primed it with Reaper's Brown Liner, then washed a light turquoise blue over it and a medium red-orange I had mixed up on the base (because for an undercoat for sand any warm color will do). I mixed up a cream color and painted the creature's teeth and loincloth and washed a layer of it over the base for sand.

This guy was an experiment in a bunch of things. Trying to underpaint then glaze - I feel like I learned a bunch even if the results don't show it. Didn't turn out how I wanted it, but I also like the end result. Trying to do a basic OSL - I think I have an idea of what to do when I want to try it more seriously. Another try at fluorescent medium (didn't work) - this was the lure and the OSL. I forgot to add VGC Warlord purple to the gills, and I didn't feel like going back after I noticed. The WIP is available here I wanted him to look a bit shiny - so I went over the scales with a gloss coat on top of my usual gloss then matte varnish but for whatever reason this guy just looks wet all the time.

So I ran a one shot 50 Fathoms adventure this weekend with hubby, son and 2 friends that were visiting. It went well, but they derailed the adventure completely by not walking the plank, instead choosing to stand and fight... First round was rough, half the party was down from all the pirates firing their pistols. But they prevailed, loosing only 1 extra, and headed off in a totally opposite direction from where the one-sheet adventure was at. So I winged a treasure map, and they found and dug up buried treasure, so all was good in the end. Anyway, here is the slightly converted Bones Bathalian (77020), I painted up to be a Kraken earth mage, one of the pre-made characters they could pick from. Not so happy with the color choices on his clothes. Tiik warriors (Bones 77186), standing in for Kehana, one of which has been converted to wear pants. Not sure what up with my color selections for them either, that pink is not terrible attractive...

I like the scaly guys the most I think. The bones figures have pretty good scale detail, although teeth can be problems. I used lots of washes and glazes on these, with edge highlights to finish them off.
