  1. Some thoughts on The CavCon tournament. The Good: The tournament was well organized. The terrain looked great. Jon and Tim were available to answer questions and explain the reasons behind various decisions at any time. I've never had more one on one time to interact with a game developer ever. Jon went out of his way to walk me though several parts of the game that I didn't understand and he was open to feedback to improve the game for me (and hopefully others). The veteran players Todd Farnholtz, Ross Hines, and Brandon Baker were friendly, open, and available to ex
  2. In a different thread Vince put out a call for terrain assistance the night before ReaperCon. He needed a big hill. (A table was planned that called for a graveyard on a hill.) A link to that thread. I saw the thread and a few PMs and text messages later it was determined that there was a hill hiding in my rather disheveled workshop room that might do. It looked like this: It was an unfinished slab of pink foam (the top had a basecoat on it). This shot was originally sent via phones to [give] Vince an idea of how big it was. That is a Storm Giant from the KS 1 batch along with a paint bot
  3. 4/13/14 EDIT: A sample of the tournament scenarios is now available. Thank you for bearing with us. 3/31/14 EDIT: Pool play have been given a 5 Turn maximum. Finals games have no Turn maximum. There is also no scenarios and no scoring for the finals games; they are pure kill 'em all, last (wo)man standing. If neither side in a finals game is able to eliminate the other, then the player that has inflicted the most casualties wins and will advance. Terrain for the tables has been finalized, and the scenarios for pool play are about a third finished. A representative sampling of them will be
  4. Due to circumstances beyond our control, some of the terrain for the Warlord tournament appears that it will not be ready in time. I'm working to keep the existing scenarios (as opposed to writing new ones at the last minute), but I have limited space to bring items to the con with me, and even then, I don't have everything I need. So, this is where you can help. If you have access to wargaming terrain, and can get any of this to me by the time the con starts Thursday afternoon, please let me know. The wish list is as follows: Dirt road sections (far less important, but it'd be nice)
  5. The ReaperCon 2013 Warlord Tournament will be a 3 round tourney, with each round lasting approx 105 minutes (1 hour 45 minutes). Each player will bring a single 1000 point army list and play that same army list for all three rounds. Players will be allowed to choose faction doctrines to be in affect before the start of each round. The ReaperCon 2013 Warlord Tournament will be held at the Hotel this year. Some people know that from a different thread, but I am restating it for those that missed this information. Subject to change based on Reaper's needs, the start times (that means deplo
  6. Wow already about to start our fourth session, its going by so quickly. We would like to congratulate Tiffany Rogers for breaking the 300 point mark and earning herself a tier1 prize, following closely behind is themudhead, Richard Burge, Kristen Lyon, and David Jackson. This next session we will be running a little differently. The deadline will be longer and the points will be much higher, this is a chance for anyone who has not taken the opportunity to participate to catch up drastically. The next piece is to be a diorama, subject matter is open to anything you would like to do. The
  7. I was searching through the events at GenCon this year and saw or rather didn't see a Warlord tournament. This kinda bummed me out. I had so much fun at last year's tournament I was hoping to enter again this year. In fact, I didn't see any Reaper sponsored events except a speed painting competition. No Dragon's Night Out, no Reich of the Dead, and no intro to Warlord games. Anyone know anything about this? Am I searching wrong or have the events not be entered yet?
