https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1280484354/world-of-twilight-the-crooked-trade-outpost/comments About It’s been 20 years since my first sketches of the diminutive fubarnii and this Salute will be the tenth anniversary of the first Twilight releases! Over those two decades I’ve visited large areas of Anyaral and we now have well over 100 unique playable units for the game (not to mention all the different variants, civilians and a wide variety of critters...), all in the usual World of Twilight scale (roughly 28mm). If you are new to Anyaral, then I recommend you go and visit the World of Twilight website to find out more! Over the last year I’ve continued with the normal range, but I’ve also had a play with something slightly different, and that is where I need your help! Legends of Anyaral is a random little side project that will let me play with big buildings and creatures that simply wouldn’t work in the usual scale. I took the very simplistic approach of sculpting everything half the usual size, which effectively makes it a 15mm range. The first sculpt I did was of a piece of Fubarnii architecture that I sketched during Inktober 2017; the Crooked Trade Outpost. "Crooked" from Inktober 2017 "We paused our travels briefly at the crooked tower of Geliad. I had initially assumed the tower was on the brink of collapse, but was assured by the locals that it was all part of their local engineer's eccentric but deliberate design! It now serves as an outpost where traders rest before braving the Moerasii marshes. We were fortunate enough to see a domesticated lorsaan being loaded with baggage. It never ceases to amaze me that such behemoths wander our lands." I wanted to create the building, but figured it would be somewhat huge in the usual scale! Instead, I halved all the dimensions, making it a much more manageable 135mm in height. Having sculpted the building I did of course need to sculpt the lorsaan to accompany it. Then a few little traders to look after the Lorsaan... Which gives a good insight into how Twilight has generally been created over the last twenty years! The Crooked Trade Outpost, painted by Joe Karame I’ve got a few other ideas I’d like to do in the Legends scale (the enarii, more huge beasts!), but it depends a lot how well this project is received. I have no current plans for any rules, although that could be very tempting! That's for the future though, this kickstarter is just about the Outpost :) Even in the smaller scale I wasn’t entirely sure how practical it would be to release the trade outpost, but the very talented Rob Huntley (Warploque) took it in hand and did an amazing job casting the tower as a single piece kit! I then worked with Rob Alderman and John Bryan to make some more production moulds that would make the set affordable to gamers as well as collectors. For this kickstarter most of the pledges will be cast by John Bryan, but I am also giving you the opportunity to get your hands on the Warploque master casts as a special collector's edition. I’m keeping everything about this campaign simple. The campaign will run for a short period and will be very focused. I’ve got a couple of ideas for extras and stretch goals (remember those traders I mentioned earlier...), but nothing that will delay delivery! As soon as the campaign is over I’ll get everything ordered and get the pledge manager open so I can start shipping as soon as Kickstarter release the funds. I’m sure many of you in Europe will be a bit apprehensive about Brexit. I can't make any promises as there isn't much time, but the plan is to get all European orders shipped first (hopefully before the end of March) with the orders to the rest of the world close on their heels! For this Kickstarter I’ve come up with a few simple pledges, so you can get the Lorsaan or the Crooked Outpost, or everything together. I've also put together a special Master Quality Collector's Set, which is the definitive collector's edition. The Collector's Set includes resin Warploque master casts of the Trade Outpost and the Lorsaan. Risks and challenges We've run three larger projects previously, so have a good grasp of the challenges involved! This project does involve a lot of individual resin casts, which I know can cause production delays. However, I’ve lined up the casters so I’m confident they’ll be able to deliver in time. The other concern is the impact Brexit might have on delivery for European backers, but we will do our best to get European orders out in advance, as long as details are provided efficiently. It's a small, short-time project, so hurry up to back it if you want it. Only 4 days left.

This is another PC for the campaign of "Exalted" set in White Wolf's World of Darkness that I am involved in. The character is a Scottish mage from the Sons of Ether who is essentially a therapist for would-be reformed vampires and werewolves. At the beginning of the game he Exalted as a Twilight-caste Solar. (If this means nothing to you don't worry about it.) The figure is Julie Guthrie's delightful "Benedict Baker", a highly versatile gentleman. There's a WIP thread here.
